Our favourite cafe in town. So many things to choose from their cabinets and also nice coffee as well.

I have recently moved into the area and this delightful bakery/Cafe has so quickly become my local go to for delicious food and treats . There's plenty of space and lots of tables both inside and out. Their coffees and hot chocolates hit the spot. Not the cheapest in town but Certainly the best quality and value for money. It's a destination . There are plenty of car parks but they are sized for minis I think .

Great food but poor service. I love this place for the amazing food and great selection. It's a real quality European bakery. But where the quality is not so good is in the area of service. It would be really helpful if staff stopped long enough when bringing something to a table to listen to a customer's request and if they were taught to simply reply when a customer says something, so cusromers are not left guessing if they've been heard or not and need to repeat what they've said. Pretty easy really; basic manners. The amazing food and great location will see me coming back, but for the prices charged I sincerely hope the service improves. A smile also goes a long way!

This rating would be higher if I could. Classy set up, the shop is really neat and everything is perfectly displayed and the taste is as good as it gets. Good coffee.

Great little café with delicious coffee and extensive menu.Great to find Eccles Cakes and Chocolate Eclairs in the display cabinet and nicely cut sandwiches.🇬🇧 Staff were very pleasant and friendly,and tables quickly cleaned when left. Would recommend this great little establishment to anyone.

Love this Cafe. Extremely great staff and atmoshphere. Recently saw a post on stuff and this is far far from the truth. This cafe was well organised and presented no issues with level 2.5 protocols. Maybe the KAREN that decided to take it upon herself to contact the media over this cafe should stay at home permanately in her bubble and leave us to enjoy this wonderful cafe.

Very good food! Chicken croquets fabulous. Very busy and loud inside. Outdoor seating. Clean and bright surroundings. Carpark belongs to all shops. Depending on time car parks available. Good toilets.

Always find tasty treats here -staff are efficient and friendly even when the cafe is very busy, as it often is!!

This place foods looking awesome but I never try it. I had a great experience with this. I was offered a job as a baker but at the very first day I was sack. The owner told me that Im not a qualified one. What happened was he was so grumpy on staff always and I couldn't concentrate. I accepted it as a challenge, after few months I became head baker in one of the leading bakery in Christchurch. Thank you very much!

Sweet treats are awesome. Go there once a week but the first time served by the girl with black curly hair was not good at all. Came in the early morning when the store was not busy and ordered three sweets including a pack of shortbread biscuits. Later found that only two things were in the bags. Went back to check and been told that we only paid for TWO things, and so we paid again for the biscuits. After checking the retail prices on their website(as some of their sweets didn't have price labels in-store), the first payment still did not make sense. Went back for the second time and asked for an explanation. However, the girl insisted that we only ordered TWO things. After we got our first payment receipt printed, we found out that we paid for THREE things but she charged us a short black instead of shortbread biscuits. I told her that I didn't order a coffee and get one either. Without saying sorry or something sounded like she got it wrong, she was like 'It is alright if you want your coffee refund'. I was out of words for a sec since I was 100% sure I did mention the word 'biscuits' when ordered and the refund was not the point at all. Go garb the full receipt and check on the bags before leaving, it will save time and make your day.

Always a huge selection to choose from that never disappoints. The apple pies here do hit different

Went here for lunch for a pie. Very popular, despite the road works disturbing things. Good pies too!

Best bakery in town. Coffee was extremely good too and really hit the spot. The choices in the cabinet are delicious with plenty of gorgeous treats to gift or take home. Staff are friendly and efficient with a smile. Parking generally not an issue with ramp access if required. Extended seating areas now make this an excellent destination for a leisurely catch up with friends. Highly recommended!

My absolute favorite cafe. Food is always delicious, owner is very pleasant and staff are fabulously polite friendly and very well trained. Top class eatery

One of my favorite cafe in Christchurch. Their carrot cake is really good. This place is a bit far from town so I occasionally come here to chill.

Bakermans is by far the best Bakery in New Zealand, we get treats from our grandparents and my parents often buy Chicken, Cranberry and Brie Family Pies. The staff are always amazing and friendly. We could even safely order during level 3 lockdown and all the staff observed safe covid practices. Face masks, asked us to scan in. Keep up the great work and the yummiest food in town. The Smiths!

Delicious! Plenty of options to suit all tastes. Whether you're after savoury or sweet (or, let's be honest, both!) you'll certainly find something that hits the spot. I opted for the mud cake. A little chocolate coated, caramel filled yummy cake. My wife rated the afghan as "soft and delicious). Can't wait to come back and try one of the pies I've read so much about 😊

Stumbled across this bakery cafe. Is a charm. Would come back if out this way. Good array of savoury and sweet food and drinks. Separate counter for making drinks so doesn't feel congested. Lots of staff and two counters. Lovely food. Clean restrooms and good selection of seating in an L-shape, as well as outdoors. Lovely food and at good prices. Plenty of parking.

Great place to eat, excellent range of food, and awesome staff

The food is very good, and there's loads of variety. The prices are good for a bakery, so an absolute bargain for a cafe. Loads of staff, so no waiting to order and hardly any wait for coffee, no matter what time of the day. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which is good because the place is deservedly busy all day.

Super busy little spot, coffee was good however I did ask for no marshmallows and was given marshmallows.. but I mean worse things have happened!

Great cakes and excellent lattes. Whenever I am lost in such a big selection of pastries, the service people always proactively approach me and help me sorted out the cakes. As a matter of fact, eight times out of eight so far I like all the pastries and savory items I tried. I am so grateful as a new resident to this city, I could find this wonderful cafe!

This is a great stop for food and a coffee. The selection of food is not only huge but very well displayed. The staff are excellent and very polite. The only (small) downside is the wait for coffees. They have two machines but only seem to use one. Really like the extended cafe part too.

Since I moved from Welly to ChCh, I finally had a tasty coffee there. Wide options, fresh! Thanks to all staff especially the coffee girl

Always love the food here. Well presented, staff who are interested and can offer suggestions as I often have a decision crisis at the counter! A range of seating available but fills fast at lunch time. Handy to have supermarket next door as an excuse.

Do not come in here with an empty stomach you'll buy half the store. Very helpful staff, they offer indoor and outdoor seating. Great coffee, and getting some good quality home style baked goods.

A good place for coffee with a wide range of eats. However the low ceiling makes it quite noisy.

Best almond croissant I've had in NZ!

Nice coffee and pastries, I thought they also have some pastries without so much sugar, but not really. If you want a treat this is your bakery, no breads or croissants or things like that.

Ordered a morning tea for 30, at short notice. Wasn't a problem and was ready on time. Asparagus rolls were a hit. Although it wasn't part of our morning tea, I love their Battenburg too.

What can one say! A sneaky visit once or twice a week to get a delicious treat from the happy friendly staff that do remember you and your family. Bonus is they remember what you eat and drink:-) I want to yell out that this is an amazing place however am conflicted because I don't want my favorite food items to sell out!. So not very kind of me I know. .but needs must and I come first in the sweet department. .lol

The best Salmon Quiche, so creamy and delicious. Coffee is wonderful. Great service and atmosphere. The selection of baked goods is vast and expert.

Picked up dry cleaning at Maxwells next door to Bakermans Cafe. Went in for a coffee and light lunch It was just before twelve and the place was humming. Queue back to the door but we moved quickly to the front. bought hot choc and mocacchino with a filled roll, bran muffin and choc fudge slice. The food was great. Fresh and a joy to eat, esp the slice. People came and went the whole time and the atmosphere was one of a well run popular establishment. The service was exc and we will happily return there.

Best cafe in Christchurch in fact in the Southland they cater for the elderly in the club sandwiches and asparagus rolls department there food is tops and so are most of the staff except 2 who are rather ruff with the way they put the food in the bags.🍪🎂🥧🥮🍮🍵🥤🍽

Just been taken there and YES, YES, YES, I'm Coming Again, THE CHICKEN CROQUETTES are to Die for "Gastrointestinallyorgasmically Speaking" ,I know its not a word, but Those Croquettes must have been made in Heaven. The array of Savoury foods, Chocolate Decadence, Cream filled Fluffy delights was Mouth drooling, while the EYES were Assaulted from every angle, The Nostrils need a Lawyer for grievous DELICIOUS HARM . The Service was Smart and efficient(We were there at 11.00, imagine the Staff would be on the run at Lunchtime proper) Will recommend Bakermans to the World. Cheers Peter.

I live in Melbourne and everytime I come home I make sure to get a cake from Bakermans. . . anyone saying this place is expensive needs to get a grip!. Best cake out there easily.
