S.I went to Hello Sunday with a friend this morning for brunch. I chose it because I had been for a few years and they don't have the typical menu. The service was great and the food was fantastic. I would highly recommend especially if you like to try something different. They also now have more space, which was an issue in the past. Well done Hello Sunday team.

A.Great coffee, plenty of parking close by. The cinnamon scone was delicious. Lots of interesting things to look at. Was a quick stop but keen to go back again.

my breakfast very delicious, at first I thought it was too small but in the end I was satisfied. It had almost no salt but the taste was good. good service and wonderful atmosphere.
A.It's definitely one of the nicer cafes around around town providing damn good food that tastes and looks equally as good. Try the beef hash, it's hella good. Bit of a random setup with rooms all over the place, would love to see this relocate to a more suitable location apart from that...recommend👌

Y.The beef hash was perfectly crispy outside& soft/ melting inside. The pickled cucumber is not just colorful but also flavorsome. The shuka- tomato baked egg is a little bit sour for my tastes, overall great presentation.
N.UM YUMMMM! This place was awesome - the whole menu was so delicious sounding it was nearly impossible to choose! I did end up deciding and went with the Smashed Pumpkin. It was divine. The staff was super accommodating and friendly. The coffee was great. Outdoor and indoor seating - just adorable. I'll definitely be going back.
Sooo have since gone back for their Bubbles and Brunch. The food and staff remain superior but the bubbles and brunch menu is quite limited, especially when it comes to options for drinks. There are only four cocktails to choose from and while they are delicious it would be cool to have more variety for the price.
F.I would of gave it 2 stars if the coffee wasn’t so good! The French toast was soggy bread with raw fruit around…very disappointing, I was hopping for a proper brioche French toast with nice sweet toppings like most cafes in Auckland
A.Super cute place! Absolutely loved sitting outside in the sun, the French toast is delicious! Wasn’t a fan of the coffee (a bit of a bitter taste) but would come again just for the vibe and food!

N.Beautiful cafe set up in an old church. There seating is set out so you arent overwhelmed with a lot of people all in one room. They are seperated into different areas. Must be fun for the staff! Food was delicious and made quite quickly, plenty of parking close by. Lovely experience 😊
P.We came for brunch and really enjoyed it. It was on the more expensive side but the food was delicious -- the french toast and shakshuka. We would have gone for something else but they had ran out of some things and the deep fryer was broken?
I prefer my coffee more on the milky side but my boyfriend is the opposite so he wasn't too impressed with the flat white. Overall nice though and we would come back. I wish they had more savory options at the counter as well.
A.Had a lovely brunch here. Coffee and service was excellent. My partner oohed and ahhed over the houseplants. Some really nice little touches (creamed feta was a great idea).

Beautiful ambiance, friendly & welcoming staff, beautiful garden out back, outdoor seating for lovely sunny days and a fascinating box of foreign money by the register. It’s my favorite place to brings friends and I am a loyal customer. I cannot wait to return!
S.Great Egg's Benny. The food at Hello Sunday is always of a very high standard. I ordered a flat white extra hot but it arrived only luke warm and very milky. Great food, excellent service but disappointed with the coffee.

J.Lovely cafe in an old cottage. Free WiFi, great food and coffee, and it looks like they've been awarded "best cafe" in Christchurch multiple times. Great service. Very popular so expect to wait at peak hours. Not much parking in the area, which can be a bit difficult.
s.Super friendly staff, easy ordering and fast service. Food was great, we had a brioche and mixed salad with iced coffee and mocha. Love the seating, we were so separated from the crowd so we could enjoy our meal and not worrying about our little one being too noisy for other customers. High chair is beautiful antique with working seat buckles. Will definitely go again.

T.We are SO glad we stopped in at Hello Sunday. The iced latte was exceptional, the staff was extremely friendly (even recommending travel tips when they saw us planning our road trip!) and the food...the food is delicious. We weren't too hungry so planned to split a salad, which was so remarkable we ended up ordering the Beef Cheek Hash that was also divine. Do yourself a favor and check this place out if you're in Christchurch. Also, you may want to make a reservation as the tables were all booked at lunch so we sat at the bar.
S.A really nice cafe! The staff are lovely and accomodating even when it is super busy, and there is an awesome variety of stuff on the menu and in the cabinet. I had the best scrambled eggs ever when I went for breakfast and they also do great coffee and great cinnamon rolls.

P.Went there for brunch on Christmas Eve. Despite its simply tacky name, it has a good vibe with modern ethnic cuisine. Best Shashuka in Christchurch (probably the only place who can make it up to its modern Middle Eastern standards). It has other cuisine like US Southern po' boy accompanying other standard breakfast like Eggs Benedict etc. Very busy eatery near the Colombo boutique mall.

I.This place is always going to be crowded on weekends! So if you're gonna make a trip there be sure to book beforehand cause its that worth it. Food and ambience is great. Staff are genial and will try their best to help you even though its gets crazy hectic there.
Even on Mondays the place is constantly having traffic. There are also plenty of power plugs and wifi available. Highly recommend checking them out. I had the beef cheek which was pretty good!

P.Absolutely amazing! Great food; great service and fantastic coffee. Was really busy when we arrived but staff looked after us and settled us into their quaint waiting room. Coffee orders were taken and shortly after we were seated. Wait time was a bit but worth it for the amazing food! Well prepared and very filling. Definitely recommend and will be coming abck when in Christchurch.

One of the meals came with excessive amounts of charcoal powder that the server accidentally spilled across our table, staining a few of our possessions. So maybe don't wear white if you get that! The French toast is heavenly every time I've had it though, I would reccomend this to everyone!

B.5th September 2020 - Having brunch today with my daughter. Glad that we managed to get a table. We ordered Southern Fried Chicken Burger 🍔 and Eggs 🥚 Benedict with Bacon 🥓. It has the best runny egg yolk in Christchurch! Both eggs 🥚 were cooked to perfection 👌. The hollandaise sauce is quite rich; thick melted butter.
Delicious 😋 meals and we thoroughly enjoyed it 😊😘. Feels very satisfying 😁😄😌

This is a non licensed (🍻🍸🍷🍾🍹🍺) eatery. There is plenty of seating area but filled up quite quickly. I strongly recommend that you make a reservation to avoid any disappointment.

Decent chicken burger although every single part of it was weirdly sweet. Sweet bun, sweet chicken coating, sweet sauce, sweet slaw and even the fries were sweet.

R.One of my favourite brunch spots in Christchurch and there's good gluten free options. The Eggs Benedict is served on a yummy herby potato cake and is really really good.
D.Cosy place with DELICIOUS food. What I ate was quite unique. Try the Salmon Poke Bowl. Salmon, avocado, beetroot some other details and a delicious and unexpected wasabi mayo. Awesome. My wife ate a better than the good average Eggs Benedict and our friend had a Banoffee Banana Loaf which she liked a lot.
J.Our food here was fantastic. I would definitely recommend the eggs bene with smoked mushrooms. The cooks really nailed the flavors on that one. All the other food we got was great as well.
The only letdown was our mocha. It tasted quite watery, with barely any notes of coffee or chocolate.

J.Had the popular ones: the Beef Cheek Hash and Shakshuka with normal coffee. Coffee were bad, long black had mysterious bean residues and flat white was a bit too “flat”. Food were good but still room for improvement. Maybe the beef cheek could mix a bit of more herb and flavours before assembled with the hash?

K.Hello Sunday Cafe has a nice cozy vibe and had staff that are warm and friendly, with service that was well paced. The menu had a good range, with many of the items having the option of gluten free and vegan friendly. We had the smashed pumpkin and poached eggs with smoked mushrooms. Overall, I would highly recommend Hello Sunday for breakfast or a cheeky brunch.

A.Lovely atmosphere and great service. The menu is varied and interesting with gf and vegan options, although the food could’ve done with a touch more seasoning when it arrived. V.I went with the beef hash cheek. It was good but nothing spectacular. The portion was good. If the potatoes were more crispier and salty it would have been better, nevertheless still a good order.My wife went with the granola. I thought it was going to be a boring order but I was proven wrong!!! It tasted great and the portion was big.
M.Despite of the three stars I am giving, we somewhat enjoyed our dining experience. 1 star for the cosy place which looks divine, 1 star for the food which were delicious, 1 star for awesome coffee. The service could be a little better and it looked like they were forcing themselves to smile which was just weird. Perhaps they were having a bad day but it just didn't feel like no one was welcome in the place.

Husband had beef cheek hash which he said was excellent, eggs Bennie and chicken burger were great too and my mocha was the best I've had all weekend in Chch. Funky eclectic environment but still a comfortable space and not too loud. Hope to go back some other time.

I tried this for breakfast with my partner and young daughter, and every dish was unique and bursting with flavour, you'd do well to find a tastier breakfast/brunch.
Every table had bookings, but we got in early enough to use them before hand which was lucky, may be worth phoning ahead.
The only negative for us, as a young family, was $60 for three of us to eat with no drinks, but if price is no issue though I recommend it highly.
K.It's cozy, the staff is (mostly) very friendly and best of all, the food and coffee are fantastic. Be warned, though, after eating breakfast here you might have to roll home. EDIT: Have gone back a few times and the staff is actually awesome :)

Besides that, absolutely stunning. The sweets cabinet looked gorgeous; the staff were well informed and attentive despite us going on a Saturday afternoon at peak time. I had the beef burger with wagyu mince with a homemade lemon iced tea and mocha. All were on point. I would definitely come again!

First off, complaint. The website states 'cold brew coffee' but it isn't on the menu and you get a puzzled look from the waitress and an offer of iced coffee. Not the same thing.
The food. Wow, shes some trendy yum stuff here. You came for the cold brew, now stay for the food. There is the usual stuff but dressed up nicely. Avocado on toast has a new name and some stunning flare. The food has little pockets of interest scattered at intervals over the plate, a smoosh of red, a clump of delicious white. Nothing bad.
The cabinet has a small selection of food and if people weren't watching I could probably eat it all.
If you're gonna go, book a table. Bring your hipster friends and dogs too. Leave the beige patrol at home, they won't get this place.
Will I go back? Yes but only on the days I'd made my own cold brew.

J.A local favorite, fantastic coffee, amazing deli food. They do these mouth watering cronuts with all sorts of different flavors like hazelnut and chocolate.
Very busy, try and book before you go. Also very noisy, relatively small area, not suitable for wheelchairs.
M.Absolutely love this place! We've eaten here 3 times already and everytime is incredible. Their vegan falafel plate has so much flavor and the beef cheek benedict is outstanding as well. So glad we found this place and will eat here when we come to Christchurch again.

J.Really nice little breakfast/lunch nook. Shakshuka with flatbread was really nice but a little spicy. Thankfully the Lemon Labnah calmed it down to be very enjoyable. The Korean chicken with Kimchi on the other hand could have been spicier. The dozen donuts were great with not to sweet caramel and a dipping cream. The eggs Benedict was perfect but the hashbrown it is served on was a mushy slab they could have kept. Coffee (latte,)was reserved to one flavour shot, vanilla. Wasn't impressed. The iced chocolate was nice but a little whipped cream would have helped.
Place was clean, staff were quick and friendly. Prices were mid to high. Good value. Amounts were spot on. A great treat but not an every day event. Call ahead to ensure a seat. They were packed but still flowed well and not a long wait

A.Nice spot for brunch, food was great and a good variety on the menu. Only criticism wild be how cramped the cafe felt inside - seating and tables are tightly packed together and an awkward line can form at the till as everyone is waiting to pay up.

A large communal table sitting in the sun always helps to soothe the soul and almost the best shashuka I’ve tasted. Friendly staff. Worth taking the time to hang out there. Can get busy. Street parking

S.Fantastic fit-out (& award winning) of a pair of heritage buildings that creates a warm atmosphere of casual chic. Two of us breakfast there regularly and receive friendly service and tasty food - their corn beef hash is delicious and hearty, while eggs benedict have perfectly cooked eggs every time and I'm quite partial to their fresh, tasty granola with yummy berries. The coffee is ok but it's the main reason we don't go more often - for our own taste, their choice of supplier is not great. Only gripe is that they open at 7:30am but we've often struck them not 'ready to go' at 7:30am. We've arrived several times a couple minutes after 7:30 and had sleepy staff wandering in at the same time, looking a bit messy and fluffing around with our order. Still, for those who aren't early birds, it's a very good place to relax, meet and chat, read the paper and receive otherwise excellent service with reliably well cooked, tasty food.

A.This place is popular amongst locals and busy during weekends. Once you have found a table, the friendly staff takes your beverages/drinks order to get you started... while you decide on what to eat.
The beverages are served within 5 minutes whereas you could be waiting for about 15 to 20 minutes for something from the menu on a busy day. Food tastes Yumm! It's definitely worth the wait. 😋

I had the mushroom eggs Benedict & thought it was lovely, it wasn't served on an English muffin but a herby potatoe hash & that really made it I thought. My friends had the Thai chicken burger & said the blend of spices was just right & the wasabi mayo was fabulous, another friend had the granola museli w. winter fruits & panna cotta & just raved about it, I just saw muesli on her plate, but each their own I guess 😀

J.*I haven't tried every eggs benedict in the world but i'd put money on the line that Hello Sunday's would stack up against any other. The bacon is crisp, the eggs are perfectly poached, the hollandaise is creamy and rich, overall perfectly seasoned, potato has is flavoursome and the garnish is great.
Of note, the coffee is also excellent. Smooth rich flavour with a lovely latte art fern on top.
One of the male staff members isn't overly friendly (served by him on my last 2 visits) - a genuine smile, kind comment or friendly mannerism wouldn't go amiss. Maybe he's just not a morning person? Overall though I wouldn't say rude or unfriendly, but something to work on.
The cafe itself is cosy and cute. As other's have mentioned the wooden floors can be a bit noisey but sounds like they are working on a solution to minimise this. Cool new signage out front since my last visit too.
Will continue to return each time i'm in town for my eggs benedict fix!

A.Cute and cosy place for brunch. No particular vegan options on the menu, but they have "pick and choose" where you can get toast with your choice of accompaniments. I chose avocado on toast and it was delicious - some places would've just dumped some mushed avo on a piece of bread, but at Hello Sunday they plated it up beautifully with sauces, and lots of microgreens that really made it into something wonderful.
K.Counter food selection is sparse compared to other cafes, music a bit too loud and tables weren't cleaned up well for the next guests. Still a charming place with a good food menu if you can get a table.

R.I would've given u 5 stars, had the circumstances been different because it was great food, nice atmosphere, good service, apart from one minor thing... it's Mothers day, the table was set out with name cards and our reserved booking time, but, no sooner had we all sat down, and a girl came around and took off our name tags to reveal another person's name and booking time..
How bouts not being so rude, and allowing people to sit and get comfortable and order, then come and tell everyone at the table about the next booking time, and maybe take the tags off after we vacate.. I could've dropped the f-bomb, it felt RUDE!! I won't be back..
