G.My partner and I had coffee here yesterday and it was such a fantastic community vibe. It was really hot outside so it was great to sit inside to cool down and the iced lattes were great. We were so impressed by the waitress who helped an elderly customer out of the cafe by holding his arm and leading him outside to his bike. She was so patient and lovely to him and we wanted to give her a shout out too. 5/5 service and atmosphere.
T.Popped in for a Monday brunch a couple of weeks ago, with my parents who I'm trying to convince to move to Sumner from the North Island. Niche on its own was just about enough to sell them - during our visit we interacted with three different staff members, all of whom were chatty, professional and attentive. The food was great and coffee was good enough to need a second round by the time our meals arrived - high praise from a couple of Wellington coffee snobs. We'll be back ASAP, hopefully with a couple of new regulars!

C.One of the noisiest cafes I’ve been in. Needs baffles over the kitchen area. Lovely avocado bruschetta but like many offerings the bread required a saw. Good coffee.😊 Toilet clean, but no means for disposal of feminine products. Wasn’t asked for vaccine pass.
S.A café that cares for the community as well as its customers. Great coffee and great food - ordered a flat white and the tomato and avocado bruschetta; yum! But the thing that impressed me (and is the reason for my five stars) was how one of the young staff members helped an elderly person to their transport out on the street by holding their arm and gently walking them out. If people looked after one another with the same care this young lady showed this older man, the world would be a better place. I talked to one of the owners before leaving (I believe his name was Ben) and commended him on this staff member. I will certainly return.

W.Vistas Sumner and hungry and tired after a hill ramble, tied up the dogs here at Niche, and sat down for a late lunch and coffee. SUPER! Neat vibe, nice and light. Great coffee (and we are fussy) and a lovely quiche with plenty of side salad. Ben the owner came over for a yarn. “Respect”, Ben and Co; starting up a biz in COVID times, and making a success of it, is no mean feat. Thoroughly recommended. Thanks heaps.
a.Wow, this place was the best! Arrived at 11am on a Saturday, busy as coffee was out in 5 minutes and was perfect, then our 3 meals arrived 5 minutes later, and the food was devine. Seriously the best cafe we have been to in a long long time from any where south of chch to north of chch. The staff were super friendly and the prices of the meals you really can't beat. Well done we will definitely be back!
J.I’m temporarily having to eat dairy and soy free (elimination diet for breastfeeding) and the man who served me was so helpful and gave me lots of options of things I could have. I ended up with a delicious porridge and the coffee was awesome too!! Much appreciated thank you. I’ll definitely be back.

B.Saturday lunch date after a walk along Sumner's beach, we stopped in at Niche. We choose the Bahn Mi, delicious pork belly in fresh toasted bread. We also had the Pancake Stack with fruit and maple syrup complemeneted with some hot fries with aioli and T sauce.Woupd return and definitely recommend.

L.I ate at Niche for the first time the other day. The only cabinet food l could eat was a mixed salad which was very nice but it would have been nice to have at least one other gf option to choose from. A nice slice or biscuit would have finished the lunch experience but none was available.
E.Niche cafe & eatery is a treat for Sumner. Really good healthy cabinet food, at reasonable prices, great coffee, lovely staff and a stylish light filled ambience to boot. Love it!
