Friendly helpful staff. Our dirty table was wiped down quickly once pointed out to the staff. The food arrived quickly, however, my order was wrong, so, by the time the replacement was delivered everyone else had finished their meals. A little on the expensive side for a small sized meal but top quality.

Located near the airport. Great vibe, spacious interior and exterior areas, great for young families, small playground outdoor. Ample parking on site. Bookings essential for lunch. Great services, quick ordering and table services, food is tasty and we'll priced with good portion. Shop onsite too.

Cozy atmosphere cafe. Food and service were great. It is a busy place as well.

Tepid coffee and muffins and scones which we requested (when asked) to be warmed up were cold. Waitress didn't seem too interested! They were busy..so didn't make a big deal of it. Probably wouldn't go back

Went for mothers day and it was really nice. A few things were forgotten but overall the experience was nice. Loved the garden centre and spent some $$$ out there.

First time here. Had heard great things about this place. I went in and waited to be seated, this surprised me at a Cafe. Sat down and the waiting staff gave me a menu and said that she would be back to get my order. I waited a short while but I hadn't been able to view their cabinet food, I went and had a look. On the day there was not much that I felt like eating and pretty expensive. I ordered a simple poached eggs on toast and Chai latte. The food and drink didn't take long. The eggs were cooked exactly how I ordered them. The toast was cooked perfectly. The Chai was ordered extra hot, it was not. Good place to stop and get a sit down lunch. Good choice of seating, inside and outside. You can reserve seats and book for catering. Thanks team.

Had a fantastic breakfast there a few days ago can't wait to go back for another will also be going for a coffee because the muffins looked so tempting also it was great to have a look through the nursery and gift area also great staff.

Place looks great. Food is ok.our drinks came after the meal. They apologized and I understand that there was a lot of people but still...

Service was great however though the meal I had: corn fritters and salad was fine I was disappointed that this was my only option other than pad Thai for breakfast. I highly recommend adding more vegan, gluten free and allergy friendly options to the menu

Went to Terra Viva Cafe today for a late lunch. Pretty nice place, beautiful interior. Got eggs benedict and a mocha. Partner got French toast. Really enjoyed it, was absolutely amazing, bacon was perfect. Mocha was nice. Partner said the French toast was good too. Would definitely return. Only complaint is that there was no bike stand.

Great little cafe, with tasty food , but the service of the waitresses let's it down. They are not very customer focused and the economic we're in, there are loads of other struggling cafe's in Christchurch that would love the business.

We had scones with berry jam and cream with a tea of your choice or a coffee it all was well presented and most enjoyable will definately return.

Amazing coffee, food and dessert. I’ve been there for one of their events and I have to say that was well organized, very welcoming staff and we had a great time. If you are looking for unique deco , that’s the place. The ambience of the cafe area is really cozy and you’ll have an amazing time enjoying a delicious coffee and some sweets

The parking lot in Christchurch, New Zealand It's a place where they sell a wide variety of delicious food and tea. Sometimes small birds come inside the cafe to eat a piece of bread that has fallen on the floor. In the backyard, there are beautiful flowers and green plants. It is also a cafe that sells plants and garden supplies.

Cosy place to meet up someone. Staff are very busy. Some are friendly, some pretends that I am not visible I have to approach them. Good selection of healthy foods.

Just flew down from Auckland, picked up our rental car and this place was just down the road. I’m glad I was in a rush for breakfast making me choose the first cafe I saw. The food was great, didn’t try the coffee but didn’t see people complain about it. The atmosphere is suitable for everyone, young and old. The menu is suitable for everyone, young and old.

Nice layout and meals were a good size, not too large and reasonably priced. We were able to be accommodated as walkin, but only just.

Lovely service, average food. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the food was underwhelming for its price. The potatoes were most likely cooked the day before because the texture was rubbery instead of fluffy, the hash brown was over-herbed, the halloumi was over-salted (it was prepared to be like bacon strips but even bacon isn't that salty), but the toasted bread and the eggs were nice as was the coffee. I highly recommend this place for coffee, the cosy atmosphere, the great customer service and to wander around the garden centre afterwards, but hold back on the food.

I have now been here several times and it's been great both times. Both the food and drinks are delicious and I would definitely recommend. It isn't crowded like some cafes which is always a good thing. The attached garden store is good to look around after you've finished eating. The only downsides would be there is sometimes a wait to be seated if you are in a large group without a booking and there isn't a bike stand.

Good parking and generous parking area. Menu food is quite expensive, but check the cabinet - some good options there. Staff are friendly and helpful and the garden centre and gift shop are great. Really nice selection of roses.

Great service, we hadn't booked but the friendly staff member found us a lovely table outside, the table service was prompt and the meal was excellent and delicious, I had the prawn Caesar salad, best I've ever had

This cafe has top quality service. The girl who served us was friendly and memorised all of our orders. The food was delicious and came out very promptly. The cafe is beautifully decorated and has a very warm atmosphere. I highly recommend visiting this cafe.

A real favorite. The food here is always really interesting and changes regularly, with the seasons I assume. Also it manages to be a grown up cafe but child friendly. Kids menu is actually good and good portion sizes, with activity sheets! The atmosphere here is great and the setting is interesting.

This cafe has been around for years and it's always been pretty good. Went for a quick bite to eat and a coffee inbetween plant shopping. The staff were friendly and the food was good. Coffee was well made. I especially liked that the sweet scone wasn't too sweet. The cafe itself is a bit bland and really begging for some character.. it's surrounded by the most amazing garden centre I really think they could use it a bit better. They have the odd plant here and there but the space is there to make it something special.

This is a garden centre with large cafeteria section adjoined. I only popped in for a light lunch and it was very nice in this capacity. The coffee was really good and the food extremely fresh and more in the delicatessen category. It has both a casual section suitable for business clients and a more prosaic open area for families of all sizes. Close to Airport.

Ate here for Lunch on a Sunday once prior to picking up a rental car nearby. Fairly standard Garden Cafe, While very crowded at time of my visit along with an EFTPOS fault, staff kept their composure. Good atmosphere, good range.

Good food, trendy place. Gives you the option to seat inside or outside. Good service. A bit overpriced. The front of house usually seems in a hurry or stressed when a group of people appears, regardless of the time of day. Toilets are clean and with access to their garden is a very nice and refreshing setting. It has an upscale gift shop attached which is well kept.

Really good food. Lovely waiters/waitresses. Fantastic atmosphere. Overall a very nice place. My only niggle is that service was slow, so ensure you enjoy the company you're with if you do go during a peak time.

Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and a great wine list! Highly recommended. To top it off, there's a great gift store and garden nursery. You can spend a couple of hours here, easily.

I've had lunch at the Terra Viva several times with friends, and find the menu varied and interesting. One friend likes nothing better than the BLAT sandwich, but I have tried many different dishes and have found them to be well prepared and tasty. The cafe adjoins a Garden Centre, and it's nice to be able to browse there either before or after lunch.

This cafe is excellent so please book. It is very busy and table space is fully occupied. The menu is very wide with selections for breakfast, lunch, brunch and afternoon. While the priced are slightly higher, the quality is high too. Very good table service and very welcoming.

Brought my car to get wof'd round the corner and did a quick Google for cafes. This place rightly lives up to the good reviews. It's a great place for coffee in a very comfortable and well maintained setting. They serve supreme coffee and do it justice. Didn't have anything to eat because I'm not so hungry but I'll be back next time I'm in the area

This is my go to place when wanting to treat myself. Good coffee. Great brunch. Lovely setting. If you go at busy times expect a wait. It pays to make a reservation. Or get your coffee take away and stroll round the shop and garden centre.

Super cute, amazing food, coffee is ok. It is set into a gardencenter, so the whole place has a lovely vibe to it. The staff were really friendly, asking us about our day etc. But by far the best bit was the food! It was amazing. Actually 'amazing' doesn't really do it justice... The only let down was the coffee, which was expensive and poorly made. This is still definitely somewhere everyone needs to visit.

Had a nice lunch - fritata from the cabinet with a little salad which was a reasonable size for lunch.

Meal disappointing. Tomato compote was spicy hot ( not mentioned in the menu). Bacon was burnt black on one side and served burnt side down. Complaint brought an apology and the offer of a slice to have with coffee. As I could eat but a few mouthfuls of Naan I expected a full refund. Very poor service.

This place has quality food great atmosphere and toys for the kids highly recommend

Nice coffee, but room cold, needed heating a lot more. Also they had someone booked in not long after us which felt abit unwelcoming, should be at least 2 hour gap.

Fabulous lunch in great surroundings

Menu is always innovative and food beautifully presented. Staff are professional and attentive. Hard to beat if you're looking for a place in the northwest to eat. Often very busy. Suggest you book between 11am and 2pm.

I had my first chance to have a good look around the garden centre today... Beautiful! So much to see, huge variety. The cafe was very busy, so I only had takeaways - couldn't fault the quality or service. The only minus: very limited and cramped car parking (and one pushy and foul-mouthed driver - not Terra Viva's fault).

Food is some of the best you will get in New Zealand.. and what a great range of plants trees shrubs etc etc, u need it / want it, they probably have it.

Great wee spot, wish there was more option for adult breakfasty type meals. Kids French toast a hit. 11yo wanted double the size as would be good for a child who doesn't eat much or under 6. Coffee was great. Bit too much hollandaise (maybe an option of having a wee jug) Everything was yum. Adults French toast was amazing. Main thing that ruined it.. was someone yelling RUNNER PLEASE every 2 minutes. (Maybe have a person who runs the coffees .. or is a runner) anyway.. was delish and staff looked great!

Tera Viva café is a rare find in NZ where their food tastes great as their coffee. Shared premises with a garden and home decorations store, the café has some good vibes. The menu can be quite pricey but I think it matches their value. I recommend the pork belly.

If you have a spare kidney you're not using. You can sell it and actually afford to buy plants from the nursery here. It's a wonderful place though. Didnt try the cafe but a hanging basket cost me 27 dollars.

Terra viva has great coffee and a wonderful variety of cakes slices muffins and scones made on the premises. Lunch dishes are also interesting and varied.

Had the chicken karaage and okonomiyaki. I wasn't expecting much, but the dish was amazing. It can be passed of as a dish being served in a Japanese restaurant. Will definitely be back for other things. Table service was okay.

Terra Viva is the perfect place to go for a great lunch and while you're there check out the garden centre. They can cater for groups and family functions.

Very popular but hard seats and service somewhat slow. Why do restaurants and cafes clear dishes when everyone has not finished? I think it is rude to reach across someone to clear other plates!

Had to wait 1 hour from sit down to getting our food. While the food was very good the staff were obviously rushed as most lacked basic customer service skills. I won't be going back for a meal only for a coffee.

Caesar salad - what a display! And tasty! Bacon jam is unreal. Also I'm a massive fan of dirty Chai, it was the best one I've had in years. The Chai is not as sweet as most places :)
