At first it was hard to spot the name of the cafe until you look hard at the glass... the location is not bad... We tried the almond croissant but it wasn't that good more like an almond cake smashed into the croissant which ruins the taste. Coffee is ok could be improved.

Truffle staff are amazing, accommodating, kind, flexible, friendly, welcoming and easy to be with. The food surpasses any other café in town. Fresh, wholesome, mainly local and made fresh on site. Amazing chefs. Cabinet food, salads, menu, all worth a brunch / lunch, morning or afternoon tea 🍵 😋 Should be café of the year. Has recently been sold, still scrumptious food 😋 however, and I am reluctant to say this because 99% of the staff awesome 👌 that remains a lonely 10% who SHOULD BE CONSIDERING WHERE A CAFÉ is their correct place to work in! The Baristas work hard, the female chefs and till staff members work well, the key let down is the tables!! No one cleans them! Taking the dishes away from the table is not clean it is simply clearing...spray and wipethe mess up guys! Not hard ! Sad😒 I love Truffle 💜 just do not like their unclean tables. Watch out also for the checking of vaccine passes! A few staff do, mostly NOT. It does matter in a pandemic, for the obvious reasons, health and safety. I wonder whenever I see all the customers pile through, how safe is the place?? Secondly, if they flout the rules of health and safety, can you trust the hygiene scenario when you aren't looking, food wise that is!?

Grabbed a cappa during a work break. Great coffee in a bright and lively coffee house on a wonderful sunny day. Coffee was generally standard but more than acceptable for the price. Will use the venue again when next in the area.

Lovely, welcoming and friendly staff. New menu and new name. My coffee was really good and the food is delicious. No pricing on the cabinet food. Best to book as it's so busy!! ( Probably best to before the lunch rush and afterwards).

Coffee is constantly good and the staff are upbeat and friendly. Only down side is, often to busy to get a seat so I end up going somewhere else that's not as good.

My coffee was average. Macarons pretty tasteless. My kids loved their club sandwich and cookie and hot choc. No pricing on the cabinet food, but a nice spot, outdoor seating. Not much parking.

Was one I would have to say was not an enjoyable experience. Our coffee was a long time coming and when we did get it it was luke warm and almost cold. But the atmosphere was enjoyable and the staff were warm and friendly. Was the first time there and would try again hoping it may have been a one off or they were busy.

Nice place for a coffee. The truffles eggs for brunch were disappointing compared to previous times.

We went for their cheese scones and were not disappointed.

Wonderful attentive staff and food very tasty, lovely atmosphere , with outside seating available and great coffee. Parking available on site or down side streets with a short walk, will be sure to come again.

Lovely food especially their slices. Three of us there so we bought 3 different slices cut them into three so we each had a piece of each one. Very yummy

Lovely little cafe. Coffee was great and the choc lemon cheesecake slice was delicious! There is also a handful of off-street parking spaces outside which is helpful on such a busy road. Little cramped but friendly staff and prompt delivery of food and drinks :)

Great food and coffee today. Enjoyed the spanokopitta and my friend loved the afghan! Shame the place was so chilly, a cold day with the door propped open didn't help. Love the buzz here and always a great spot to catch up with friends.

Its a nice little place with some modern-looking furniture. Service was good (for a cafe) and the food was moderate to okay. The cafe is in an odd location just on the outskirts of the city. I purchased the ham and brie crassont and it tasted amazing! But it was a bit pricey. This was the same result for most of the food we had ordered. Made a great cup of coffee!!

Our new go-to place for work lunches. Only downside is the lack of parking, and the store layout (makes it a bit tricky to have a look in the cabinet). They have super yummy soups, great desserts, and the chicken cranberry baguettes are outstanding!

Delightful! 1.30pm when most cabinet food is, at best, a little tired-looking, this cabinet was full and fresh. Good selection, and well presented, service exceptional, slick and professional but still friendly and very helpful. Cafe was full, and we had a small wait for a table, but they turn over quickly. We both had a smallish bacon and tomato filo tart, and shared a salad. The tart was beautiful, served with a little relish on the side, and the salad was to die for. We'll be back, try to stop us! In a word, DEVINE! Go Metro .♡♡♡

Beautiful turmeric latte & lovely bowl of salads. Good service, barista got up into a still to try to identify the turmeric latte ingredients - although she couldn't, it was a nice gesture and I'm glad I still got it. One staff member did start scrubbing the floor right beside our table which had a strong smell and was a bit unusual for lunch time on a Saturday. 🤔

Had a nice hot latte and a really cheesy cheese scone. Very nice. Tables outside to watch the world go by

Good coffee and gluten free sweet treat options. Went in on a very windy day and they had locked the side door, this made it confusing to know where to get in but they had a put a sign up before we left.

Remembering the original Cafe Metro that was on the corner of Colombo and Kilmore Streets, and visiting this location many times after it opened Metro was the place for quality and Afghan biscuits that were worth calling in for. Sadly, no more. The staff are friendly but the cabinet is average. The cheese scone was ok but not "yum". Still ok for a quick coffee but has lost its wow factor from the past.

Lovely setting, friendly staff. Shared a chicken salad but was really just a bowl with pearl couscous with a bit of chicken on the top and a lot of onion. Our drinks as my partner described were like fluffy's, I had a soy latte and he had a chai, both lacked flavor and was more frothy milk than drink.

Great coffee and excellent cheese scone/puff. Was very busy when I visited. I'll be back.

A wee café facing Papanui rd in the heart of Merivale. Small but classy judging by the people who go there. Decor consists of some modern furniture but lino needs to be replaced as it starts to show signs of deterioration from wear and tear. Coffee is well brewed. Food items in the cabinet are made fresh but overpriced (appropriate for the area it is in though).

Eggs Benedict with salmon and big breakfast were superb.

Gorgeous food, but really hard to park around here. Best to walk or bus.

Got my steps up for Steptember by walking to a coffee meeting at Cafe Metro. Totally worth the walk. Great coffee and atmosphere.

For a quick bite only..not a place you would loung around. Coffee..bite..go

Always like stopping in at ferrymead. Lovely staff with very personalised service. Just one thing..... Bring back the lamb and red wine pie.
