After trying almost every other cafe in town, we wandered into Wharf Rd and were instantly struck by the thought, " why haven't we been here sooner?" The staff are super friendly and helpful, but it's the food that stands out. We found the variety of food and the prices excellent. Being a vegetarian café just made it that more special for us. The dishes are creative, nutritious and very satisfying. Safe to say it is now our go-to place for both coffee and food in Coromandel.

🌱 Vegan Review Exceeding expectations You rarely expect a small town cafe to please a vegan guest beyond a raw slice and a black coffee. Not the case with Wharf Rd! I would have given 5 stars even for attempting a cashew cream avocado toast, but oh boy Avocado toast and mushroom flatbread, both exceptional taste and presentation Staff is polite and helpful Long black coffee was very well done, roast is allpress. No soy milk, but had other non dairy milk options Not a lot of vegan desert options, but apparently they had a raw caramel slice in a freezer upstairs Very impressed, and we both agreed it was some of the best breakfast food we’ve had in a while

What a gem! Honestly one of the best cafes in the whole of NZ. Absolutely top tier seasonal food, perfect cups of Allpress coffee & amazing, attentive staff. Even though they were pumping, service was still great and food came out in good time. Cannot recommend highly enough and wish there was one in Auckland - I would be there every day!

When I lived in Coromandel this was my favourite place to visit. Probably still to date one of my favourite cafes. The vegan options were always so beautifully done.

I would drive to Coromandel just to go to this cafe. I had the garlic chilli roast field mushrooms with cashew cream and shiitake nori seasoning on toasted sourdough. 🤤 The most delicious thing I’ve eaten in a long time.

It was my Birthday yesterday and my partner and I decided to go for a long drive and have some good lunch in Coromandel. We did not look for reviews and recommendations like we usually do. We wanted to keep it random and I could not be happier to find this great place out. After an awesome drive, we were just walking around the town centre and liked the ambiance of the cafe, not knowing it serves a range of vegetarian dishes. The menu itself was very interesting. Staff was chatty and friendly. After ticking all the boxes, they nailed the food too. Being a vegetarian, I have eaten some delicious dishes but this was something really very refreshing and new. We ordered Cajun cornbread and Cilbir egg. Both the dishes were so deliciously amazing. We will definitely go back to try out more dishes

Went here for some brunch and coffee - coffee was supurb and quick even though the place was packed with people. We had the three cheese melt and the aglio olio and both were insane. Again very quick with the food. Service amazing too. Overall a lovely experience 😊

Amazing! Food was magnificent. Staff were fantastic, and super responsive and understanding of my partners dietary requirements (no garlic/onion which can be challenging). Kitchen accidentally added chives as a garnish, which the waitress picked up before we did and replaced the meal immediately without hesitation, and they discounted the meal without being asked (we weren't going to ask). Just a wonderful experience. Thank you

A five-star rare thing - a cafe with a difference. Super high quality ingredients and a menu put together with care and thought (great use of pickles for sharpness). It took me an hour to click that this place is actually vegetarian. With the excellent choice of eggs-many-ways, cheese, cakes, granola etc you won't be missing bacon etc I promise. We went back twice.

Wandered in not knowing it was a vegetarian restaurant. I was travelling with 4 friends who enjoy vegetables unlike me so we decided to stay and we all agreed after eating that it was some of the best food that we had had. Even my three cheese toastie was one of the best freshest one I have had. Carrot cake was amazing.

Had the bagel with scrambled eggs, cheddar, gherkins and jalapeño jam. One of the yummiest breakfasts I've ever had. Such a delicious flavor combination. Also had a hot chocolate which had a different darker flavor to it than normal which was good. Friendly staff too.

My first and favourite cafe in the Coromandel. Walking down the main street it's the most aesthetically pleasing - cool typography, cool seating, cool coffee machine. Staff are lovely (they actually let me pay a couple days later cause my card didn't work lol) Coffee is good, really nice oat latte pour, and delish lunches (had cornbread for the first time) Now we are back here a second time and its a prime place for life admin. We have been at the Warf Road for Sunday lunch. I enjoyed the nice and friendly atmosphere. Coffee was very good and the coconut carrot cake we had was moist and yummy. 3 stars only because I wasn't so happy with my food. I personally would have loved more choices from the cabinet. Had a Brokkoli salad that was crunchy but I couldn't taste any dressing.

Easily the best Coffee in Coro This Cafe is vegetarian and I'm an inveterate meat eater but I love the food here. Blueberry waffles are awesome and good value. The staff are quick, efficient and very friendly. Definitely give it a try!!!

Recently stopped in to Wharf Rd for a very delicious breakfast and perfect coffee. We loved the food and the cafe had a nice relaxing vibe. The cabinet selection was so tempting we had to stop back later in the day, after a trip to the beach, for yummy cheesecake and cold brew coffee. We'll definitely be back to our new fav cafe in Coromandel.
