L.Amazing place to stay in, totally recommended as part of your journey through Central Otago. Nice and clean facilities, great environment, and for sure an opportunity to meet cool new people on the same vibe, travelling and supporting each other with advice in this adventure. Friendly and kind owner, always looking after his guest and making them feel comfortable and welcome.
You can find musical instruments in the lounge and varieties of games to play with other guests, as well as you can rent a bike or kayak and have a really good time while you are staying there.
G.Good place to stay! I was there only for one night during my travel, if you like music there are a lots of instruments to play with.
The owner and his partner are welcoming and if you need they can help you find everything you need in the village. :)
B.Darren is the man! He runs an awesome hostel. I ended up staying here like a month and a half because it was so fun to chill and learn guitar, play the xbox, hang out with the people. Kitchen, bathrooms, everything super amazing. Super clean.
J.This place is awesome! The communal room is not that big, but it has nice couches, some guitars, a keyboard, a tv and a hell a lot of dvd's. The rooms are not small, the beds are clean and the kitchen is big as well, with a lot of cooking utensils either. The host is very friendly, although sometimes a bit chaotic and somethimes he starts to drink to early in the afternoon to be sober in the evening...
K.*amazing* place to stay. highly recommend! lovely, clean & cosy, very comfortable. the best showers i've ever had in NZ.. hands down! very friendly owners, darren & renae are super nice and accommodating, they will tell you where to go and even help people find jobs in the area. great location in the center of town, within walking distance from everything i needed (grocery, post office, i-site, lake, wineries, etc). even a great aquatic centre just across the road to have a swim and lots of local gyms that are 24 hr. affordable bike rental too, you can even rent bikes by the week. will def stay here again !!
M.My friend and I stayed here two nights but we wished we could stay longer. Darren and his hostel came to us like a god given blessing. We were having such a rough day, our Airbnb didn’t work out, our bags smelled like gas from a mishap, and I was battling a cold. Luckily there were two beds available here. Darren is such a helpful, friendly dude. He helped me get a tough diesal stain out of my favorite cardigan. And the whole hostel was just so family like. Everyone here talks with each other, knows each other, and laughs with each other. Laundry was only five bucks, there’s an extensive bookshelf, everything is clean and compact, you get your own towel. This is probably the best hostel I’ve stayed in in my eleven months in NZ. So laid back, cozy, comfortable, clean, and just an overall good experience. Would 100% reccommend!

R.A+++ The best hostel in New Zealand!! You'll never want to leave. This amazing place feels so much like a home. Cozy, clean, comfortable, inviting atmosphere, and prime location right in the center of Cromwell only a short way from both Queenstown and Wanaka. Free unlimited wifi (omg!) and parking! The owner, Darren, is the nicest person you could ever hope to meet. He really looks after his guests and is very approachable and friendly, even gives lots of great suggestions about where to go around the area. He can even get you a JOB!!! Lots of people love this backpackers so much they end up staying long term. You'll find an array of musical instruments and movies in the lounge, big brand new HD flatscreen smart TV, and even free coffee! Just love this place! Right across the street from the supermarket, two 24-hour gyms, and a swimming center. My favorite hostel in all of NZ! And Darren is the best! 👍👍

M.The facilities are clean and comfortable. The only place we stayed in NZ that provides no heater in the room. The owner said that the heater is centralised but it is still very cold. Eventhough she provide us with an extra duvet, i still feel that heater should be provided. You need to wipe the water from the walls and floor in the shower after you use them. Ridiculous.
S.A really friendly atmosphere, very clean and some very comfortable beds even in the share rooms. Great showers and bathroom facilities. And there is a cat which is lovely too.
S.I had a great stay here. The room was clean and warm. Also the food was good. This is the best hostel in Cromwell for a backpackers like us.
김.this place is so like home. you can make lots of friend. and they provide you most of things you can expect. unlimited wifi, towel, coffee sugar tea.. and some freefood. was excellent. one of the best hostels in nz. highly recommend it.

O.Expensive for what it is (compare to other youth hostel) but the accomodations are ok and the managers are really kind.
At my time there, the people there were boring to death.
