Stopped here on a cycle trip through the Catlins. The staff were so friendly and immediately offered to (and did) fill our 5-6 water bottles. They also do a full breakfast for $15!! So good. Really glad we stopped here.

Called in for a quick bite to eat after exploring the Catlins for the day. The Catlins Cafe were welcoming and polite when we arrived and the man advised us of a table where we could all be seated. The food was delicious and the premises we clean and tidy. There was hot and cold drinks available and the prices were very reasonable for a rural town. We would definitely stop in here again.

Very convenient place in Okawa. While the rest of the places in town were close, the Catlins Cafe was open on a Sunday morning and ready to serve food and coffee. Decent food, good price, good variety of options and a friendly atmosphere. Not getting the 5 stars just because there is still some work to do with the service. This will not be a problem for you if you are on holidays. Anyway, this is a place that I would definitely recommend.

The Cafe did very well when a group of 17 turned up out of the blue. We all had coffee and food. I had coffee and muffin which was nice. There were other people arriving as well on a cool wet day. As we left they waved to us. Great atmosphere.

Proper cheese rolls. Epic. Makes a cheese scone taste a bit dry. Gooey melted cheese in toasted and rolled bread. See why they are a big deal.

The first cafe we found open coming from Invercargill via the Caitlin's heritage trail. Had a wonderful coffee and a plate of bacon and eggs. First place to actually cook our eggs perfectly. A great place to stop and watch the world go by. Highly recommend.

The cafe was a welcome retreat from the rain. Nice staff and an OK selection of food. Had a brunch of sausages and eggs with toast. It was OK but very basic - no condiments of any sort. Coffee was very good.

We stopped in here for takeaway coffees on our way through. Lovely service, the man who served us was friendly and very helpful with information for us as tourists. Its nice inside and if we had more time, I would've liked to dine in.

A good place for stopping over for a meal on your way to the attractions within the Catlins. Food is decent, quite a good selection of sweets, mains and sides. Chilli pie was good, and chips we're excellent. The outdoor seating is perfect on a fine afternoon as well. Smoking is not discriminated upon, great job!

Been here twice during our Dunedin trip from chch - love their soup, tomato basil and seafood chowder both serve with 2pcs of ciabatta bread, well grilled with butter, very tasty. Just a bit too salty of that tomato basil soup. Seems like a family based business pretty warm greeting and friendly staff around. We also had coffee here but quality wasn’t too good. Recommend to have a stop and have a soup during winter time.
