On our recent Sth Island journey came across Illys cafe, great coffee , beautiful food, made by people passionate about what they do.. A pleasure to have been there. Tapanui such beautiful countryside.

Top Nosh is the top place to go in Tapanui if you are after a filling meal. I grabbed the Big Kiwi burger and it didnt disappoint. Beef pattie could even be a little on the big side but who ever complained about getting to much meat in their burger!! Chips were cooked to perfection nice and crunchy and well seasoned.The coffee past my test of not needing sugar and came quickly to my table. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere was good. Could do with a change up of the art work as the same old unsold photo of a set of powerlines was still up and still unsold . Could even change the menu up and add something new. For me I'm not a big fan of mismatching furniture but I understand there is a lot of reused stuff in the cafe which is pretty cool really . 4 stars will definitely be returning . .

Stopped in on the way up to central for an absolutely excellent coffee. Popped back in on the way home, tired and hot. The iced coffee was without a doubt the best I've ever had. I'll certainly be in every time I'm heading through Tapanui now. Thanks team!

Stopped here for brunch on a Thursday and was pretty quiet the only thing holding this place back from a 5 star was the food being abit on the meh side (we only had cheese rolls and the venison and blueberry pie). Coffee was really good, service was quick and the decor and style of the place is comfortable, roomy and clean.
