R.This is not a bad stop if you were shopping in the mall in central Dunedin. Service is pretty good generally, however, you get a feel that staff are rushed off their feet at times. It’s not unusual to see absolute no eye contacts as they go around and some running on the floor to bring back your meals.
Coffees are good, baking is pretty good too, salads a bit average and lots of carb loaded cabinet food.
Good place to buy a gift for a foodie friend of partner.
Another quick solo visit while doing shopping in the mall. Tried freshly carved store made ham. Yumm. The French chef super friendly and knowledgeable, gave me a slice of the sourdough bread. Then this gorgeous cute waitress gave me some butter for my bread. Great chat, laughs, yummy food and spot on coffee. We have a winning formula here. Thanks Chin and the team
Sunday shopping rest place. Good coffee, half chips done extra crunchy with double aoili. Perfectly executed. Very polite wait staff. Bought some ham from the deli, very scrumptious. The almond croissant was out of this world. Thanks team for yet another memorable experience.
R.Stopped by here for a quick coffee. The coffee was good and staff friendly. Very busy which is always a good sign. Very central as located in the Wall Street Mall. They also serve a lot of hot and cold food but did not try this during this visit.
There is also a small shop which sells a variety of different food/cooking related items.
Overall highly recommend this cafe to others.
Y.Cupcake was soft, moist, and had a velvety icing. Salad was good, one of the few places I found that does a good salad.
The chicken waffle were very sweet from the sauce, with lots of sauce on the meal. Quite overwhelming with the sweetnest. Did not really enjoy it.
W.The best cafe in Dunedin! A regular here every Thursday & today I had Big Breakfast. I have to say every ingredients have been cooked perfectly. They are always busy but they are also very organized. I didn't even have to wait long for my breakfast today & every time I am here. Also the staff are all very friendly & well trained. They always have good smiles. And most importantly their coffee is also the best in the city after Itrying for 3 years retired from North

Super customer service, very friendly staff, coffee was to-die-for. And the chocolate was just perfect, not too sweet and very chocolatey.
M.Tasty bus overpriced (smashed avo on two toasts with two poached eggs - $22). We discarded 8 knives before finding two clean ones - that’s hardly acceptable. You need to up your cleaning game.
f.Limitless praise for the lovely Marbecks. Over main years our family has frequently eaten breakfast, lunches at Marbecks and never once had a negative experience. No matter the changes in staff members over the years, their customer service and food remain at the highest quality and there is something for everyone ~ salads, slices, menu items, cabinet foods 😋 delicious. A absolute must is a Marbecks cheese roll. Seriously, I buy a stash to take home for Christchurch.
W.Consistently good coffee (latte), friendly staff, big and comfortable cafe to catch up with friends. Food is good too but I usually come for coffee. Free water which also includes carbonated water if that's your thing.

T.Their B.L.A.T is 🤤🤤 although I had it without bacon haha but it was yummy as!! Their chips are always 👌👌 I've NEVER had bad chips from here haha anyway, would recommend the food here. However, if you're looking for a big variety for breakfast, this probably isn't the best option. Other than that, it's pretty decent

We ordered some breakfast and hit drinks; we were very impressed by the fast and friendly service.
The food quality exceeded our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The vegetarian hash was delicious - the roasted mushrooms were to die for. My partner had the waffles and also loved her meal.

The eggs were perfect, beautiful presentation and very flavorful.
The pancakes were cooked to perfection, lovely combination of flavours and textures.

E.Great food with wonderful presentation. Tasted clean and fresh (fish and chips) with a wonderful slaw/salad. Coffee tasted a bit burnt, but other than that it was a wonderful meal.
The service was great even though they were very busy.
b.Had the best lunch at Marbecks today!! Served by the loveliest girl named Mikayla she greeted me with a big smile and so friendly even though I took a while to make my mind up on what I wanted. If you ever find your self in Dunedin definitely give this place a go!!!

K.Such a fab eatery. Great coffee and a wonderful selection of cabinet and menu food on offer. Friendly staff - always a smile. Love the two communal tables and magazines on offer to read, if dining alone. Seating is also great for snall- mid sized groups. Offers fantastic deli items and a range of other products and gifts. One of the best places for a Cheese Roll in Dunedin - that good ol' Southern Sushi!
L.I was served my coffee today by the short brunette haired girl who is always so perky & polite & greets me with a smile & always seems interested in how my day has gone. rare as most servers treat u as an inconvenience for u being there. she was clearly under the weather & looked like she was working her hardest. anyone with a brain would have sent the poor thing home. but good on her for marching through. speaks miles for how little staff are cared for.

M.Great cafe and food store centrally located in the Wall Street Mall. Clearly part of the Dunedin coffee scene they make a damn good coffee with great food be it a snack or lunch to go with it as well as an impressive array of smoothies. Marbecks is also a general food supplier of high quality product be it cheeses, meats, condiments or other victuals. Definitely one to try.
S.My most favourite cafe in Dunedin. Usually crowded from how well known it is, and what great foods they offer.
w.Good location but exceptionally busy and quite cramped when dining in - french toast was fantastic but was served on a clearly cracked plate which is poor food safety practice and a disappointing action by staff. Thought of returning meal but was pushed for time as service slower than expected. High end price range...good for a solo treat or treat as a couple. Dining as a family would break the bank plus setting not suitable for larger groups.
F.Imagine my surprise when I found an eatery in a mall that wasn't a soulless facsimile of mall eateries everywhere. The merchandise is a foodie's heaven and even though it was super-busy with the pre-Christmas rush, found a table to sit at and let the mayhem continue around me while I lingered over my coffee much longer than I should have. Will be back to try the food, which looked delicious, and gaze longingly at the array of packaged goodies on display:-)
C.My go to cafe/restaurant if I’m in the central city. The baked goods are delicious and the menu is fairly extensive. My favourite thing to do is get some cheese and charcuterie and take them home for a snack with the family.

M.Since the unfortunate closure of Little Hut, Marbecks has consistently been the place to get the best cheese rolls in Dunedin,edging out the museum cafe.
P.We both enjoyed our breakfasts . When in Dunedin next will call in again .You should try it for yourself.
