Absolutely loved this gem! Great staff, coffee, big generous portions! The menu will satisfy kids or hangover ones 😁. And the whole space is so well done with so much soul to it! And they use Bonsoy milk (do your research if you don't know this brand 😉)

Had the breakfast stack with potato hash which tasted like the texture of gnocchi it was nice and soft . With smoked salmon & fried mushrooms with pesto etc. And had a mocha. My meal was delicious. Highly recommend Vogel Street Café & Restaurant it has a cozy comfy retro rustic vibes to the place. And the customer service was super as well. Thanks for a memorable date!

Went to Vogel St Kitchen for lunch. They’ve got a limited cabinet menu as well as pizzas, wood fired sandwiches and an all day menu. The food was tasty and good portion sizes. Good value for the price, however menu is lacking cheaper options. Service was fantastic, prompt and very accommodating of young children.

Very nice interior. We had eggs Benedict, one with salmon and one with mushrooms. Both were very delicious. Over of the finest salmon Benedicts I've ever had. The sauce is not too sour like usually at cheap places. The staff is very friendly too. We had a great time during brunch.

Had a Saddle Hill flavoured pizza for lunch a good choice, and a cup of cappuccino with cinnamon toppings with Trixie Vosseler at a restaurant in one of the historic precincts. After that I was on the Mosgiel no. 77 bus home from the Exchange area back home via Green Island bus hub. What relaxing atmosphere I've have had after seeing a lot of fairy lights displayed somewhere in the city area, and also at a pub in Carey's Bay yesterday, reminding of the mid winter celebrations. Not the most pleasant staff in cafe business- 4 out of 10; coffee (latte) is average 6 out of 10 (excellent creamy texture, good golden colour, however flavour is poorly bitter); food is excellent (Item I ordered is called: WORKS) 10 out of 10: good ingredients chosen & deliciously cooked, neat & tidily presented. Overall I do recommend owners retrain front staff. This is the 2nd time I had seen unpleasant staff while eating there. Date & time visited: 07:30 am 16th Nov 2021

First time In Dunedin and we wanted to find a nice brunch place. This had great reviews and it didn’t disappoint. We couldn’t go past the eggs benny and that delicious hollondaise sauce. The coffee was divine!

We spent a lot of time (actually it was me who was over excited to be back to my Alma mater) going around the campus and particularly the buildings which I spent most time studying and hanging out with friends. The Registry Building and Commerce Building (St David too because I was shopping for souvenirs) were particularly memorable. When we were finally done and exhausted, we headed to my ex-flats in Castle St and Heriot Row + Baldwin Street (sighseeing while attempted to go up the world's steepest street as confirmed by Guinness Book of Record). Next stop was Otago Peninsular to visit the famous Royal Albatross colony but before that we stopped by this award winning Vogel St Kitchen, one of Dunedin's popular destinations for breakfast and lunch. Sure enough, it was very packed and we somehow managed to get a table at the other end of this cafe. Restoring and fitting out this once abandoned building took the owner 10 months but the end result was astounding. It has the chic industrial look to it. After all, this area is Dunedin's heritage warehouse precinct which is more than 120 years old. ◾brown sugar buttermilk waffles with vanilla bean mascapone, citrus rhubarb, and toasted hazelnuts ◾brownie ◾Savoury scone ◾soup of the day which happened to be mushroom soup which came with 2 piece of ciabatta toast and butter Other options include woodfired pizza and woodfired sandwiches on top of their all day menu. Since we were not that hungry, we didn't order much and had to contend with the things that we did order.

Lovely open space. Seems to be very popular. No wonder the food is fabulous. Staff are very efficient and courteous. Couldn't gave asked for nicer surroundings. Complements to the chef. Parking .. very busy outside trying to get a park, but you will see why when you go there, very popular. Very clean and welcoming. Thanks guys

Was super busy when we went, the staff were very friendly, but the service seemed was a bit disorganised. They had run out of Waffles by 11:30, and the table we sat at took a while before it was cleared and cleaned from the previous customer. They also missed out one of our orders, but were very good in admitting their mistake and rectifying, managed to get most of the food out at the same time, and offered a hot beverage on the house which was very generous! The food was great, and I would go back again!

You order and pay at the counter and they were quit busy on a Sunday morning and we were told a half an hour wait but the food a coffee came within 20 minutes. Beautiful building and friendly staff.

Fabulous brekky...hands down the best hollandaise in town! Perfect coffees every time and even lovely-er service! Big selection of breakfast/brunch items...don't stop just for breakfast though, go for lunch too as the pizza is huge with bubbling mozzarella and a crispy base, if it's not to busy you won't be waiting around long with prompt service! They handle variations modestly and the hash browns and waffles are made in-house, bonus! Plenty of seating, weither you like a nice private corner or a sunny table upstairs!

This place is nice. Not my usual haunt. Its tidy, has a good selection of food and drink and, most importantly, a wood burner in the centre of the tabled area. I'm normally a bit of a tightwad but I was not offended by the prices on the ready to eat food. Has outdoor seating and the acoustics aren't a pain despite the amount of dressed wood that makes up the decor. Staff are friendly and being an emerging business hub, most of the clients are professional or semi professional, so no dropkicks. I like it

This place is a'right. Went here for brunch with a friend. The coffee was top rate and the food was uninspiring but filled the spot. I ordered their full cooked breakfast which had excellent bacon and perfectly cooked eggs but when I see hash browns, I expect hash browns, not balls of pureed potato which have been crumbed and deep fried. Otherwise a pleasant enough experience, but I'm not yearning for a return. Review #2. We returned. I kind of want to raise this up to 4 stars: the food is delicious, the atmosphere is trendy but... I just can't. I paid $30 for a "big breakfast" and an ice coffee and came away hungry. I'm a sucker for a good ice coffee and this one was just... weak.

Five of my colleagues and I came in for morning tea. We all placed our orders, got our cakes etc and sat down. The first to order received her hot beverage and after a few minutes we realized that the rest of us were not going to get ours. We queried this and apparently the system "lost" our orders. They were then taken again and we got our drinks, but the 3 who order various teas were disappointed because they were very weak and therefore not enjoyed. Management did provide us all with vouchers for a complimentary drink next time we come in. We have all been here multiple times and this was the first incident any of us had experienced.

Lovely cosy atmosphere here, and amazing food. It was a nice surprise to get soft & fresh gluten-free bread in the woodfired sandwich, and the iced coffee was delicious & very generous. There's a nice range of seating areas here to suit your mood, from the open-plan ground-level, the upstairs overlooking Vogel St, and the two outdoor areas at the front & back entrances.

The vibe, the food, the look are all amongst the best you will find in Dunedin. A perfect place to breath life into the warehouse precinct. The only drawback might have been on an 'on the day' mishap where our meals came out at different times and some variable waits. But with the interior as cool as it is, certainly worse places to be waiting!
