Jane is a fabulous host with stories to tell if you wish, or will leave you in peace if you prefer. You don’t have to tell her which, she has that intuition to just know what you need. Rooms are gorgeous, comfortable. Large beds and luxurious showers. Clean. Breakfast fresh, local fulfilling. and the pool in the summer just tops it all off.

Fabulous property, huge rooms, tasty breakfast, lovely host. Attention to detail second to none. Would highly recommend and certainly rebook when returning to gisborne.

Absolutely fabulous stay. Jane is a great host. The breakfast was to die for and beautifully presented. We had a great night sleep in wonderfully comfy beds. Rooms were very spacious and little touches made all the difference and very much appreciated. As a group of 8 nothing was too much trouble for Jane and her husband Rob. We had ordered a special dinner on the night of our arrival for a birthday and in Jane's inimitable style she produced a sumptuous 3 course meal with the addition of a scrummy chocolate birthday cake.
Highly recommended 5 star accommodation.

We loved everything about our three day, mid-winter, post-Covid stay at Cedar House. From the cotton sheets on the large comfortable bed, the clean and sparkling bathroom, the guests kitchen area with fridge, tea and coffee making available, the delicious breakfasts, the spacious dining and sitting rooms, to the warmth and professionalism of the hosts, Jane and Rob. We were treated so well, and will definitely stay there again. Saturday Farmer’s Market is just around the corner, just across the road from the well-resourced Gisborne Museum,
and then it’s a short walk across the bridge to downtown and the Marina. Perfect location - there is little in Gisborne to compare to the comforts of Cedar House.

Jane made our group feel so welcome. Nothing a problem . Lovely breakfast,
Beautiful linen, ginger crunch, chocolates bedside , everything has been thought through to make your stay amazing . Location is perfect to walk to town , 5 minutes drive from the beach and Saturday markets next door - well
Worth a visit .
Would love another visit to Cedar House .
Love to return

Boutique B&B with gorgeous views
This is a lovely B&B in a beautiful location on the edge of town overlooking the river. The views from our verandah were just gorgeous. Our bedroom was huge and we had a spacious private bathroom across the hallway. Caroline is an enthusiastic host and has added a few thoughtful touches to make your stay special - drinks in fridge and chocolates. The continental breakfast was excellent and the coffee was good. The B&B is about a 10-15 minute walk away from the town and its out of town location means that you have a peaceful night's sleep.

10/10 - Perfect place for a romantic getaway. Extremely comfortable bed, amazing bathroom and a super friendly host make it a place to remember. The included breakfast is very nice, showing up some of the '5 star' hotels I've stayed in. Overall just a wonderful place, highly recommended. We will be staying here again in the future.

This accommodation has surprised us. A newly renovated old villa filled with character and love from the current owner. Our bathroom was new and I could have spent hours in there. We felt like sleeping in a castle. The host was so welcoming and friendly so we didn’t want to leave and we have enjoyed our stay so much! Location is central and not far from CBD. We had a great view to the nearby Taruheru river. This accommodation offers pool which we haven’t used. The breakfast was continental and delicious. We definitely will be back some time in the future!

So close to the the city (walking distance), a gorgeous pool for the hot Gisborne days and all the details have been thought of here. Hosts Caro and Storme are the perfect mix of welcoming, they're there if you need them, but otherwise they leave you to enjoy the beautiful space they have created for you to stay. I stayed in the Wanaka room (all the rooms have cool NZ place names, and each has a uniqueness about them). I loved the chocolates by the bed, the luxurious lotions in the ensuite, the bath was beautiful and the shower fabulous too. The decor is a mix of modern while still keeping the history of the home. The linen on the bed is top quality, with two linen bathrobes on hangars for guests, and spare hangars for clothes too.Down the hall are tea and coffee making facilities, snacks, and alcoholic beverages. One word sums this boutique B&B up -- quality! I will definitely be back. I came away refreshed, and happy!

Absolutely amazing! Beyond our expectations 🙂 Hosts Carolyn & Storm are welcoming & informative. The homestead is BEAUTIFUL and the decor and added touches from Carolyn creates a luxurious experience. Already feeling like a Prince and Princess, when presented with our breakfast it confirmed we indeed were 😍 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 🙂

Our hosts were both so lovely and accommodating for all our needs. Absolutely stunning place. Highly recommended for family/couple/vacation/business. Very close to town, farmers market literally a 1min walk around the corner. We will definitely be returning 😊

We have stayed in various luxury "Bed and Breakfast" accommodation on our recent New Zealand holiday and Cedar House (Gisborne) was by far the best!
The new owners (Caroline and Storme) have done an outstanding job renovating this beautiful old home. From the quality bed linen (yes real linen), the super comfortable bed, fluffy doona and the most beautiful (pristine) modern heritage bathroom I have ever seen.
Caroline and Storme were the perfect hosts, its clear that they understood our need for privacy and for customer service. Thank you Cedar House we are so happy we found you!
We highly recommend this amazing B&B.

Highly recommended. Enjoyed a high quality room and very hospitable owners. Small things like a small bowl of chocolates and an offer of a beer on arrival made for a nice touch :D.
