We got here on a bad weather day and had to camp. The guy behind the counter let us stay under the shed for watching movies on a laptop so we don't get wet. Go for a swim in the morning, rent a bike, kayak or just enjoy the area and drink a coffee. It's a good place for a free overnight stay in your tent or campervan.

Low key stopped bus by the lake. A bunch of water toys for hire at the café along with coffees, snacks and ice creams. Not often you hear "I'll have mochaccino and a kayak please" Great place to chill for half an hour or hit the lake on a SUP or kayak. Coffee was up to scratch according to the coffee aficionado, the green tea could have been cooler but most baristas seem unaware 80 degrees is the sweet spot for green.

Best coffee anywhere. Fantastic toasted sandwiches and delicious crispy hot chips. Great food with the most amazing views. Dot and Gary the best hosts.

Convenient stop for coffee at the start/end or turn around point when riding the Waikato river Mangakino trail. Views of the lake are stunning. Food is fairly basic and coffee is average but the staff are friendly.
