Reviews of GG's Cafe
G.
Nice little cafe down end of a lane way. Cool stuff. Great coffee. Loved digging in the record bins too.
N.
Coffee and vegan brownie were super delicious. My girls absolutely loved the play area! Stoked there's good vegan options. We will be back!
C.
Spicy chai was delicious! A cosy little cafe, perfect for a catch up with a friend over coffee!
J.
Such good coffee, and super vegan friendly!
Staff are lovely as well. I had a vegan bean pie and it was everything I was hoping.
S.
Wat a nice little vintage cafe! Located down an alley, so no traffic noise when sitting outside. Place is super vegan (though they still charge extra for plant milks...) and kid friendly, with a nice little play room in the back. Haven't tried their food, but the coffee was great!
A.
GG's Cafe is one of my favourite spots in Hamilton East. The coffee is always fantastic - good barista and I think they use Rocket beans. Food is also very good - i recommend their muesli and bagels. I really love the use of interesting seasonal herbs and edible flowers in dishes. Staff are very friendly. Good spot for kids too with a fun little play room filled with classic books and NZ toys. Enjoy.

Love this eclectic vintage inspired cafe, down Lovegrove lane, had the best scone I’ve ever had, beetroot & feta, I’ve made thousands of them & co managed an award winner cafe, so I haven’t just made this up!!... just the right amount of butter and tomato relish ... honestly yummalishious .. felt like I was at a friends sharing something special.. keep up the good work!! Definitely coming back 😋😋❤️🦄

If I had to spend the rest of my life in one place it would be snuggled in the soft bosom of GG’s
The love I feel from the staff is completely overwhelming, the bean is divine, the hot chocolate will mess you up and if you have any respect for yourself then please get some peanut brittle or some brownie or a muffin or a bagel or a toasted sandwich. My head hurts just thinking about it all
M.
This play room is the best one in town! ❤ It helps me to enjoy their beautiful coffee ☕
G.
Quirky Cafe with tons of atmosphere. Eclectic stuff displayed around the cafe. Good coffee and the cheese scones had loads of cheese as they should do well done the baker.
T.
Nothing says happy like a fabulous flat white served at an old school desk!
K.
Eclectic. Almost weirdly eclectic! Splendid ambience! Even the most boring couple could be inspired to have deep conversations from items on the wall. There are diagrams of the respiratory system, Nordic lovers, Dutch windmillls, woodwork plans, egg-beaters, petit point , antlers, macrame, many used radios,.....
Welcoming friendly, efficient and effective staff. Also, a great menu. I had a sausage roll, better than Grandma made! Terrific coffee.
I'll be back.

Little gem hidden in the residential alley. Good food. Hoping to see a new autumn/winter menu soon
T.
Beautiful atmosphere here, down a quiet little lane. Lovely retro dècor that gives a retro vibe to the place.
The cabinet food is amazing and their coffee too!
Would recommend trying the Hot Malt Maple drink.
They were more than happy to do a cold version of the drink special for us which was also amazing
A.
Cute Cafe with super friendly staff. All their food looks delicious. The Cafe has character, a perfect spot to sip tea and read a book. 😊

Cool little venue, down an alleyway in what looks like converted workshops. On a sunny day there are tables and umbrellas outside, and with no traffic outside it is very pleasant. Inside the decor is intriguing.
The coffee was good and the food was tasty. Pleasant staff, reasonably quick service and a good vibe.
Recommend the almond croissant - amazing!
M.
Yes it has character ,and food is nice. But the coffee was miniature size and the food very pricey. Some seats outside very no frills or cushions or anything to make them more comfy . My friend waited for 10 mins for her coffee.
D.
I had been told about a good café in Hamilton East off Grey Street, but as I went down the alley next to the Barbershop Co I began to think this couldn't be it. But nearly at the far end is GG's cafe, as if it had been left over from the 60s. It has a lovely calm feel with friendly service. I enjoyed my coffee and cinnamon bun, but I saw they do vegan soup.
A.
Wonderfully quirky with lots of retro pieces scattered around the cafe - a real feast for the senses! Felt very satisfied after my coffee and scone :)
L.
Best BLT I’ve ever had 🤤 so YUM.
Cute little place, cool deco & chill music.
They forgot my coffee but when I asked, it came really fast and they refunded me which I totally didn’t expect. Thanks guys!!🤩
L.
Very nice coffee. Located down a lane off grey street. Nice place to chat and catch up with friends.
M.
Possibly the greatest cafe in all Kirikiriroa. Amazing selection, coffee to die for and the food will leave you feeling exalted.
A rad little kids area, well two of them actually! Wonderful friendly and helpful staff.
Scrumptious vege and vegan options.
Gold star 🌟
M.
Great coffee, great atmosphere. Nice little lane cafe. Summer is comming on.. I don't know what they call it but have had a shot of coffee with sparkling water there a few times, really refreshing treat in the heat.
D.
One of the best place in Hamilton for coffee. Love it.
M.
Love this little place. Came in today for one of their vegan pies and a chai latte, was absolutely lovely, left me feeling content and full but not bloated (thankfully). I remember the first time I came here I thought the desk table setup was a bit strange, but it's all part of the quirky vibe and I've come to love it. It's chilled out and just a cool place to eat and hang for a bit. Bonus that there's awesome record player music, rather than just the typical trendy spotify playlist you get at regular cafes. Reminds me of my childhood.
E.
No gluten free cabinet food, which is just bizarre.
Great aesthetic and atmosphere.
Average iced chocolate.
Friendly staff
M.
Was ready to give this place 5 stars before even getting my food - the iced coffee was that good. Super chill atmosphere, awesome decor, great vibe. Definitely check this place out!
