G.Good to see young owners behind the counter. Lovely warm greeting, great coffee and they had a nice relaxing vibe about the place. The bake goodies looked good but maybe a bit to fancy for my simple palette.

If you have times, ask for a V60 to get the most of their coffee from their sister company Grey Roasting.
Hard to pick something from the food menu, but I keep coming back for the chicken burger and the mushroom gnocchi.
T.Comfy Cafe in Hamilton East Village; across the road from Duck Island Icecream & children's park. They serve kickin' barista coffee with moorish food, delivered with quintessential first class customer service.
S.Very good place for breakfast
I visited the Grey St Kitchen (GSK) on 3 consecutive days with workmates for breakfast.
There was plenty of variety to choose from. The food was good, the quantity was sufficient, the service was reasonable.
On day 3, the menu changed which meant a different variety.
All the items we had were nice and we were happy to go there everyday.
S.Good location on Grey Street, large cafe and outdoor seating. Five of us for brekkie, big breakfast, avocado on toast and I had the buttermilk waffles. The waffles were nice, but without some kind of maple syrup they were quite dry, apart from that it was very nice. Everyone else happy, only comment the sausage was a little spicy. The coffees were nice as well and nice atmosphere.
H.I had amazing mushrooms on toast with Duka and roasted kale (vegan). Best mushrooms ever! No to mention the delightful coffee :)
A.Amazing food and even better coffee! The service is always friendly and the place looks great too. Big fans
R.Am in Hamilton visiting my mother and taken her out for lunch and coffee. We orders off the side menu and had eggs. I had bacon which was cut thick but I prefer thin cut. The coffee is very good I splashed out and had a soy latte. Had to get special permission to have it in a glass. Very yummy. Mother and I shared carrot cake which was nice and moist. Cost $$.

Place is always buzzing on the weekends so I tend to visit on weekdays and never have trouble getting a seat. Appreciate they have complimentary wifi and delicious coffee to help fuel my creativity. On my last visit I had the mixed mushies with bacon and it was incredible! Loved the flavors and textures.

S.Hamilton Must!!! Great staff, helpful friendly and informative. I ordered the fried chicken burger and an iced coffee. WOW. Best burger I have honestly ever had the pleasure to eat and coffee equally delicious. One of there Baristas is even ranked 12th in the world. Definitely a place to go for coffee lovers. Will definitely be back here again!
K.If you're not from hammy, this is definitely a cafe you should try! Always consistently good!
They've recently started using their own beans and it's very unique and fruity. One of my favourite cafes to indulge/give myself a treat. Slightly pricey but worth it!

A.So hip and so much good vibes! Delicious food, standard brunch food with great store front and outdoor seating and good coffee! French toast was pretty amazing, and the hash was a very filling and left us tummy rubbing!
I.Fast, efficient and clean. They were very busy due to public holiday yet the staff were very helpful and smiling. Will definitely go back.

S.Family went here for lunch on Saturday. Busy place. Everyone was happy with their food and drinks with a few exceptions. My tea came out tepid so had to be replaced with hot water. The burger buns and crosscut chips seemed to have been overcooked. I had the mushroom gnocchi and paid extra for black truffle. The food was okay but nothing special - quite bland and I got about 5 tiny pieces of grated truffle - that I couldn't taste - not worth the $6 extra I paid for it. I found myself looking at the eggs bene wishing I had ordered that instead! The staff were lovely but I am not sure this would be my first choice for food. I have had worse but I have had far better.
S.LOVE their French toast, have variation in menu, as well as diversity of staff. Food is definitely of good quality. Definitely have to be going back!

B.This place makes good coffee but you have to wait a while for it. There's cabinet food and a menu but these make for very limited food choices. They were very busy when we went so be prepared to wait a bit for your food or drinks to come. Otherwise a very cute establishment.

G.Great coffee, great service & great food. I had the bacon eggs been, & my friend had the French omelette with prosciutto. Both were a delight to the eye & the tastebuds. The bacon was delicious- smokey & not tough. We met there at 10.30am, & the place was already packed. It got even more so with people hanging around for tables as the morning wore on. Always the sign of a good eatery. Not too pricey either - about average.
R.Have been here afew times and tried the mushroom gnocchi, smashed avo and mushroom benny. All delicious. Rate the coffee also. Service is the highlight for me though, very fast and helpful.

T.The food is great, not a huge selection but they do it all very well. The hot food is served fast and is delicious. Great service and they look after your pet with a bowl of fresh water if needed. The stand out for me is their coffee, i consider it the best coffee in the waikato, i travel from the other side of Hamilton just for a cup and i am happy to do so. Only downside is the food can be a little pricey but again the food is top notch

C.Absolutely delicious, beautifully presented brioche French toast. The toast was cold so I asked for it to be reheated but it was so good. My son also loved his eggs Benedict. The service was great as well. The coffee was a little cold as well but overall a very enjoyable meal. I will definitely go back.
C.Fantastic! I had an amazing v60 pour over coffee made from a single origin (can't remember origin) bean just before I left, and in my opinion, it was the star of the show. Absolutely loved the sticky Korean chicken waffles. Will go back again for sure.

O.One very upmarket Café. Delightful waitress! Made sure all was well with our meal. Explained how the Chef catered for all diets & the chicken we were eating was coated in herbs meaning gluten free. Interesting milkshakes & delicious Origin Coffee. Relaxing atmosphere! A place to return to.

P.The kitchen is an inviting place to sit and enjoy high quality food on any given day in Hamilton City. Inside is very noisy on a busy day but sit outside and enjoy the bustling town shopping scene over a latte
C.How do you rate a place that "forgets" to bring out your food (lunch). Pet hate of mine. A five minute salad turns into a wait for 25 min, then going to the counter to ask! Whilst later a apology was forthcoming (saying something was broken), it is not the best service. Food and coffee were good though.

I generally avoid getting their food though, as it has kind of gone downhill - when you see the high prices you think you're getting high end cafe food, but sadly always disappointing and really overpriced for what you end up getting. B.Had brunch here with my partner. He had the Asian pork belly salad which was delicious. I ordered the salmon Benedict which was really disappointing. $21 for a very small portion on top of some sad looking leaves, and all completely unseasoned. The cafe doesn't provide salt and pepper on the tables so I wasn't able to season it myself.
All saved by a delicious single origin coffee! Kudos to the baristas
S.Coffee was okay but not outstanding. Pork belly on the eggs benedict was really nice but the hollandaise was average. What spoilt the experienced most was the lax service. We were in a meeting but sat on our dirty plates for over 20 minutes and the table next to us sat with dirty dishes for over 30 minutes. All this when staff were standing idle.

We think the Grey St Kitchen is great, fast cheerful service, good coffee, not having to pay upfront felt a bit more civilised than the usual queue pay and then find a seat that seems to be the norm in NZ. We'll go back there snd suggest you try it too.
