H.Awesome service, very busy day and so a short wait. But coffee was hot and lovely. And the savoury pinwheel scone was enough for a huge meal!! And full of cheese, bacon, onions and all sorts of deliciousness.
S.Big breakfast for $24. We ordered flat white and cappuccino too. Coffee would need to be double shot to be nice and strong. Breakfast was fine but could be better. Bacon overcooked and bread was average. The place is nice. Beautiful view of the lake. Relaxing!
E.The best beef burger I have ever had which contained chunks of beautifully marinated beef. The setting of the café is lovely and the staff are great. The only criticism would be that there was an over supply of aioli and horseradish sauce in the salad part of the burger.
S.Had the salmon roulade. Not recommended: very little salmon, flavourless cottage cheese was the main of it. The accompanying relish was the saver. Service was ok.
A.Big portions and great food and coffee.
N.We came in today a couple of times, it's nice enough. The place is great there's plenty of room and the spaces are roomy and comfy. Great place shame about the food. Hence the 3. So today we had the mushrooms on toast and fish and chips. The plates look wonderful except you can't fit many chips in the little basket. Let's be real! The fish. Could have been awesome but a little over cooked in oil that was a bit on the old side and needed changing. $23 is a bit much... the mushrooms chunky and plentiful. Toast. Wonderful. Butter is yum and there is heaps. Sauce also heaps... too much really... which is good if it's yummy but it was not. It seemed to have balsamic in it and the vinegar was overpowering and spoilt the whole dish. Nice try but it seemed like they tried to get fancy to the detriment of the food. This was my day. I would still encourage anyone to try them. Oh! I enjoyed the coffee... Hence the going back for a second visit.

It has so many different style of small gardens that present many different countries
Also free admission
But recommend have at least few hours free for your visit. Also bring your drink bottle especially when weather is hot.
You can not buy any drink unless you walk back to the cafe which located at entrance of main garden

B.Welcoming staff, good food, not clean tables and chairs and water bottles and glasses. I think there is enough staff to keep the cleanliness. Sticky tables and glasses will give a bad impression to the customers. No background music.
H.A great cafe in a great location. Plenty of seating and food choices. Must visit during summer to get an amazing view of turtle lake. Has a decent ice cream selection to choose from to keep you cool on a hot day.

M.Went for an hour's walk around the gardens (free!) while it was nice and cool and then strolled into cafe 10 minutes after it had opened. Got myself a cool ginger beer and a eggs benny and bacon. Sat at a table with a lovely view overlooking the lake a d reminiscing about our earlier jaunt. How lovely it was!
Y.Best hot chocolate ever! Came nice and hot and in a decent sized cup. A rarity! Food was all very delicious and the staff very good. Plenty of outdoor seating with a great view over the lake. And you're allowed to have your dog with you. A well deserved 5 stars.

K.To many people with bookings for us to get a table inside for a group of 13 but they reserved us a table outside and the heaters had it warm. They checked during the meal if we were warm enough or if we wanted the heaters off. Big sized servings for a reasonable price. The only reason I didn't give 5★ was because one person's meal didn't arrive. Once they were aware of the problem they rectified the matter as quickly as possible.

A.We really enjoyed ourselves. The liminchello pasta with chicken added was delicious. Our of the guests in our party ordered a burger. It was huge, and very good, he said. Their desserys were also delicious. I had a lemon merengue tart and my husband had cheerie cheesecake. Both good.
N.Currently sipping on possibly the best mocha I've ever had in Hamilton. Barista was a blonde guy I think. We come every couple of months for a bite and food is always awesome too. Highly recommend.

V.Disappointed, and we were hungry looking forward to eating here. Unfortunately, my salad was wilted w lots of bruised, rotting bits of lettuce/ mesculin salad... We had three different people looking after our table; it w confusing as to who was doing what and the communication between each other lacking.
It was a sunny yet brisk morning, they had all doors open w an extremely cold breeze blowing through on my front & back.. it also cooled my food & beverage right down.
I didn't enjoy the average food/ beverage - overall, the experience of the Hamilton Gardens Cafe is not one I want to endure again.
S.Yum! We just went there for lunch, and there were heaps of vegetarian options in the cabinet. They've done a really good job of keeping social distancing for Covid too. Lovely staff, and would absolutely go again :)

Went here for lunch with the family and ordered myself a 'Bubble and Squeak' and a feijoa smoothie.
Service was quite speedy, considering how busy they were.
The eggs were done perfectly and it was surprisingly filling, and the smoothie was flavorful and thick.

S.We got the cheese scone, orange and date scone and the scone with jam and cream. Absolutely delicious, homemade and fresh. Staff were friendly and didn't have to wait long for food. Also, good variety of cabinet food choices. We will be back!

T.It was quite busy when we were there, visiting the gardens, and we had to wait for a few minutes after we ordered for a table to become available before we could sit down, but we were sitting down outside before our food arrived. The food was fresh and quite good, with several vegetarian options on the menu. I enjoyed a very nice sandwich with brie. We were grateful for the refrigerated bottles of tap/still water, as it was a hot day!

A.Good was good. My daughter's mac and cheese was the meal of the day I've been told. The treat of the day was the date and orange scone. The one we shared was so nice that we bought a second! At $5 it was the bargain of the day. A lovely winter's afternoon in the Waikato.
V.After walking through the gardens I had lunch at the cafe, there were alot of people in the cafe but it felt nice and cosy sitting there with friends and having a nice cuppa and bite to eat, and the staff were nice and polite.

P.Very crowded and busy but that is mostly because it is very good. Also an excellent selection of gluten free, both savoury and sweet.
But on a visit yesterday, we discovered with a very bad physical reaction that the pickle on the vegetable frittata that was labeled gluten free was far from gluten free. So beware!!
A.We eat here when we visit the gardens with our grandsons who both have good appetites and the portions are large enough to satisfy them It is possible to have a gluten-free meal or a vegetarian one. If your appetite is smaller there are plenty of choice of portions such as salad croissant to suit you. A good selection of hot teas, coffees, and bottled drinks. There are bottles of cold water and glasses in the fridge for you to help yourself to at no cost. They cater for small folk too and it is a lovely place to eat looking out over the lake. You can either sit inside in the cool or in the small outside room or on the terrace.It does get rather busy so if you are a large party it is a good idea to book a table. Sometimes there is a waiting time for your cooked meal as everything is freshly cooked. The staff are pleasant and helpful and very attentive. There are easily accessible toilets which are kept in pristine condition.A wonderful place to eat for small or large groups in very pleasant surroundings.

S.The place was clean, however we went on a Sunday at 11am and the service was very slow, we ordered cabinet food and they advised they would do table delivery. 20 mins to get 1 warmed scone and two coffees and ham sandwich from cabinet. I will gladly come back but not on a busy day, with small children.
C.I was so surprised and delighted at the quality and variety of the food, both pre-made in the cabinet and also on the menu. And the view looking over the lake - wow! Thoroughly enjoyable, I was not disappointed.

M.Beautiful view over lake. Plenty of 'gluten free' options, which is good for me. We had morning tea, walked around the gardens, and came back for lunch. I loved the 'lamb risotto cake'... A refreshing change to find one with lamb in it. We love meat! Most things are like home made. Great selection. The carrot cake looked divine. There were also salads. We will be back and will bring our families.

M.I absolutely love the setting of this cafe. Unfortunately, food is rather underwhelming. Interior also needs a bit of update. Always busy to the point that makes me feel not want to wait in the cue. Average cafe.

V.I was in town traveling from the Chattanooga area to Atlanta and choose to eat from the "swanky dinner menu" side. I devoured the "Pickled Fried Okra" what a delicious treat! Whole pickled fried okra spears, battered and fried! It was amazing! Then I finished with the Creamy Garlic Gnocchi with Grilled Chicken! It was filling and delicious topped with grilled tomato slices! Which added the perfect touch!
M.We visited today 23 October 2017. Labour day holiday quite a few people in the garden and raining so the cafe was 90% full at 11am. Good selection quick service the food appears to be baked and made by the cook onsite, he certainly is a good pastry pie cook. Reasonable price we had brunch before setting off down south. We are two Aussies on a circle self drive road tour. Yes we can recommend this Café.
M.We have recently visited the Hamilton Gardens Cafe a few times and are rapt with the improvements since new management took over. Food and coffee were great as was front house staff who were friendly, helpfu and efficient. The cafe is now far more spacious with the events room overlooking the lake now open for daily dining if you choose not to sit outside. The two tills save waiting in line and the new look counter is modern and chic. Highly recommend

J.Nice location with a view to the Waikato River. The food is tasty and beautifully presented. I had the "Gardens Montreal" (poached eggs and smoked salmon served with lemon cottage cheese) and it was very good. The coffee is also good and the staff friendly, great place for a brunch in Hamilton.

C.I had my 60th birthday at the Hamilton garden cafe and the food, service from the staff and owners of the cafe were very welcoming and professional. I would recommend everyone to try them. Thank will be back again.
