J.A very tidy little cafe just along from Whakamaru dam, at a major highway intersection. Only suitable place in the area. Light meals and cabinet foods plus barista coffees etc. Happy staff. Great.

N.So glad we stopped here for lunch. Friendly staff, delicious sandwiches, rolls and drinks, plus unique gift ideas to buy. But my favourite detail was the art on the walls by 'Monique' - especially the one in the bathroom! They had a real warmth to them, I can't quite put my finger on. Great pit stop - thanks guys!!

k.A favourite stop over for us travelling down the country. We never go past it. Delicious home made food, good selection from menu board and cabinet. All reasonably priced. The staff are always friendly, the service is quick and the customer only toilets are clean. Check out the crafts they sell also. My husband always finds something very different to buy. Last time we stopped he bought a crafted wood large chessboard with a slideout portion containing cheese knives etc. All crafts are also reasonably priced. We were sorry to see last week when we stopped that the owners are selling the business after 20yrs. We wish you well on your new adventure.

R.Great stop for breakfast, coffee and or lunch, little bit noisy with the traffic but easily acceptable, not a lot elsewhere close when driving around the western side of Lake Taupo, generally come down this side from North or South by passes all the towns and so much less traffic. The food and drinks have always been very good.

F.Awesome little café! What a nice discovery. Fresh, simple food and quite tasty. Great choices for everyone in the family. The pizzas were particularly good and absolutely LOADED with cheese and ingredients. Great organic coffee too!!
F.We stopped here 1 hr ago for late breakfast. The service was awesome, family/friendly environment. Lots of beautiful homemade stuff to look at while enjoying the lovely food. We loved our big breakfast that we ordered for the 4 of us that we ordered a extra one😄 We will definitely be going back if we were to travel down this way again😎

W.A quick stop at first cafe we came across on road trip with hangry child on board. Pleasantly surprised good coffee and kids hot chocolates presented very professionally in tall glass with chocolate around the sides. Kids loved them and a very tasty blueberry muffin.

i.Something about a quaint, roadside cafe on a country road. The food seems nice, coffee better and pleasant view makes you want to stay just that extra 5 minutes longer than you planned. The Dam is no different, best bacon and egg pie, and best iced coffee in........town?!
E.COVID check in and hand sanitizer but no working dryer or paper towels in the loos. Date scone was huge - enough for 2 people and very pleasant. It was reasonably busy when we stopped at 10.30am.
