Great breakfast set. There is a live hive behind the glass in the cafe which is cool to watch. Coffee is not bad, environment is nice, good place to chill out and have brunch.

Had a wonderful meal here. The staff were so hospitable. The food was fantastic. The service was great. The Cafe was clean and tidy. Obviously a popular place as it was very busy. Only downfall.....it's not in Tauranga. Make the most of it NZ.

Ordered a fish and chips, expecting the fish to be fresh and delicious as we were in West Coast after all, but it was more like salad and chips with a side of fish. The fish was dry and very small in size, also tasted bitter. My friends tried other dishes and were happy with them though.

It's a rare and beautiful thing to find a place that does dedicated keto food, but this is one of them. And if you love the carbs, you won't be left out - there's plenty for everyone to enjoy. Recommend the coffee - it's excellent 👌

We stopped in for coffee and a cake mid afternoon. What a brilliant place! Great look and feel with really nice folks serving. Coffee was awesome and cakes even better. Was very cool they had small size options for the cake as it was great to choose big or small servings. Worked well for my wife and I. Would love to try something from the main menu in the future. It looked great too.

Fantastic coffee! Great breakfast and lunch selection. Double layer toasted sandwiches are packed with fillings, you can choose what you have. Bowl of fries came as a very generous serving with homemade tomato relish. Staff are friendly and efficient. Probably one of the best cafes in Hokitika.

I really wanted to like this cafe, but the lack of customer service let them down. We were seated in a main part of the cafe, and then ignored for 30 minutes before we asked to have our orders taken. In that time three wait staff had gone past us numerous times, but none had stopped even to bring water. They had had time to stop and chat at length with other patrons, so maybe we just didn't know the right people 🤷. The prawn fettuccine when it came out was very average, extremely salty, and just not what we expected it to be like. I mentioned our experience to a staff member when I paid, and his excuse was that they'd only been open for two days - I don't know if that was re-opened after Xmas, or open full stop. Either way, there was obviously no system of waiting tables in place, because we fell completely off the radar.

Good food but bad service by a male indian staff on 17 October. My friend requested for a set of 2 poached eggs when ordering but was given 2 sets instead. We even double confirmed with him when ordering that it is only one set. When the food was served, there wasn't any apologies and he made it seems like it was our fault. We could only blame ourselves for not checking the receipt and we didn't wanna spoil the mood of our holiday by disputing further.

Their smoked mushroom breakfast was delicious and very generously stacked with mushies swimming in a thick smoky mushroom sauce. It's the first time I'd had a meal beside a behive that has been aranged with a clear panel for viewing the inhabitants go about their business.

Food is good. I’m a vegetarian and I had stuffed mushrooms with flat white for breakfast. The vibe is good and the service is good too. I just wished quantity was a little but more. That’s all. I have attached their breakfast menu.

Great spot!! Just went in for a coffee and to read the paper. Ended up with a quick lesson about bees. “Life Bees live here” If we’ve had the time we could have learnt a little more about cheese too. Good coffee and the food menu looked inviting, however didn’t eat anything as we just had breakfast somewhere else. Whenever we’re back in Hoki we’ll be back at Stella Cafe!! Fantastic food and service. My daughter has multiple food allergies and the staff went out of their way to ensure she had a fabulous breakfast ... and didnt charge us any extra for bring gluten and dairy free .. unlike alot of other cafes. The best homemade baked beans I've ever had. They were super spicy and packed full of flavour. My only grumble was that the ciabatta ended up being really soggy, perhaps it could be served on the side. Poached eggs were cooked to perfection. Would have loved to try something sweet from the cabinet but we were too full.

A table outside, in the sun is a nice spot to drink coffee and eat a cheese roll. Also they're supporters of the Wilderness trail. A must do for keen cyclists of any age.

Always waiting too long at Stellas but the food is always nice. Down side was my friend paid more than what i paid for for my eggs beni and she got a halloumi salad which was a bowl of lettuce with bits of halloumi and avocado and almost non existent dressing. I felt so bad. Her order also came last considering there was very little to cook.

Really nice coffee and great food. I had a flat white to takeaway and a raspberry and chocolate brownie. The brownie was nice and fresh and the coffee was hot and nicely flavoured. It was too hot actually and really needed a napkin around it so I did not burn myself. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. I would go back if passing through again.

Had breakfast here on the 19th of March 2019. Nice welcoming interior with plenty of seating options for couples and large and small groups. Service was great, food was tasty and the serving sizes were good. Granola Parfait and Eggs Benedict with bacon, coffees and juice were the meals ordered. Would definitely go back again.

Went here for breakfast on a busy Friday morning. Ordered Eggs Benedict with bacon and Mocha. Eggs bene arrived promptly and was cooked to perfection on a layer of delicious potato cakes. Coffee took till about half way through my meal to arrive however they apologized for the wait and I have noticed they are currently searching for 2 new employees, so they must be low on staff. Highly recommend this restaurant despite the latter.

Nice atmosphere. Well located. Quirky beehive in the café to watch the bees at work. We ate here twice. Food is good. Was busy both times but staff let us know of the expected wait for food which was thoughtful. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars was the "ultimate" chocolate cake, nothing ultimate about it!!! It was dry and tasteless. Apart from that, we would recommend (the coffee is great too).

Thank you so much to the chef at Stella Cafe who upon learning I was celiac (strictly gluten free) came out and talked to me about how she would prepare my meal & the ingredients contained. Popular cafe, excellent coffee! This popular cafe has a very tempting display cabinet, an appealing menu and a wonderful cheese room. We didn't end up eating there but we went there a couple of times for coffee. The coffee was excellent - nice and strong with no bitterness!

Been here a few times and the coffee is good. They have a cool cheese section and although it was a while ago, from memory the breakfast was good. Only negative is the wifi. I came here to get some word done recently and asked if they had free wifi which they said they did. It's that annoying zenbu wifi so after about 50mb it cut out and asked for money. So I ended up going somewhere else.

Good place to get shelter from a rainy West Coast day. The prices aren't the cheapest, but it's really good food for a standard price. The coffee and tea are great as well, and the waffle fries are superb. It's worth the two extra dollars to get sour cream with them, but it still seems a little expensive just for a scoop of condiment.
