La Nonna is obviously very popular. I arrived just after 1.30pm and there wasn't much selection to choose from. What I did have was very nice. Plenty of parking and I like the fact that there were parks for car & trailer or campervans/caravans.

A good spot to stop off. Sadly they were closing for the day when I went in so had limited items but definitely good.

Five shots of coffee in my mochachino, got me thru four rejections and one approved police barricade. Same one. Over and over. Level two, travelling to a level two, as a primary care provider collecting someone from hospital. Before the traffic light system. With a double VAX passport and a letter from the midwife. From 4:45 am I waited in Kaiwaka, as one must not wait near the police, and went to and forth waiting to get thru the boarder security and waiting for the bakery to open. The bakery kept me sane.

I have been travelling past La Nonna for over 10 years and I have yet to be disappointed by their services. The only time that I feel upset is the times I find that the bakery is closed. 11/10 would recommend for anyone travelling through.

Get in early if you want some of their lovely bakery items....very tasty & fresh. Friendly laid back service. Couldn't fault them, but as it was only my first time, only gave 4 stars as I like to see consistency before I rate 5. So far so good. Keep up the good work team.

If your travelling to the Bay of Islands this is a great coffee stop. They have a nice selection of food - pies, sandwiches, wraps, ham and cheese croissants, scones.

Great eatery we stopped at for a bite to eat on our way on holiday. Very friendly staff that work there. Wide selection of pies and different sandwiches in the display cabinet and a big selection of freshly baked breads and rolls. They also have a barrista making coffee, which was great. We got two Cappuccinos, some sausage rolls and pepper steak pies to eat. They also have different meals you can order to eat. We sat outside at the one table. Lots of parking space available for customers. They were extremely busy while we were there and is a stop for locals, tradies and truckers to get something to eat. Very highly recommend. We stopped there again when we went back home a week later, had lunch there and got some very fresh artisan baked bread.

Best Cafe food in Kaiwaka, ideal if you eat in the car while travelling. Not the most interesting place to dine in. But if your priority is coffee and food this is the best in town.

Very clean and tidy. Service was fantastic. Coffee good. I had a steak n cheese pie that was delicious. Next time I'll try the sandwiche because they looked fresh, great range to choose from too.

We had mochas and an almond croissant. Allpress coffee was very good, milk was perfect, coffee to chocolate ratio was perfect in my opinion. Almond croissant was nice and soft. I am often disappointed with coffees but today I was not!

We always eat here on the way north from Auckland. You are always able to find something fresh here. They do fresh egg, ham, chicken rolls and sandwiches. Also nice fresh pies and coffee.

Lovely little Bakery.. Just a quick stop in with my son, we got a take away coffee and a sausage roll each.. Coffee was lovely and hot. Sausage Rolls were Yummy 😋 😋 😋 I definitely will stop by there again on my next travels up to the far North.

Pretty busy and bad air, lots of car exhaust around because of car park and SH1 just outside. No Paywave, only takeaway cups, so bring your keep cup when eating in. Food is pretty good, though.

Delicious food, great coffee, amazing customer service and 10/10 for presentation. I love this cafe/bakery. It gets very busy around lunchtime so you have to wait a little bit for service sometimes but the wait is worth it. And the coffees get made really fast, so if you put your coffee order in before you order your food it's ready waiting at the till when you pay. Would totally recommend this place for people of all walks if life. Does NOT serve gluten-free food. Will make vegetarian sandwiches on request.

The pie was alright, the cream donut was good. The focacia bread we got for making toasted sandwiches the next day was not so good. They don't take credit cards so cash only if your bank is not in NZ.

Best pies in the country.... in fact everything they dish up is top notch. Good coffee too. I stop there every trip north, i don't have breakfast before I leave coz i know the wait is worth it. I even buy cold pies and put them in a cooly bag on my way back.!!!

We heard about this place on one of the travel blogs, as part of our trip preparation. Not only had the hype but also lived up to it. Their Panini, sandwiches were really good. The coffee was good too. A must stop if you are travelling North of Auckland, towards Bay of Islands (or further).

Had a brownie and a long black. Both the brownie and the coffee were pretty good, but I wish I was made to feel more welcome as a customer. The staff need a bit more training on how to treat non-white customers just as equally as regulars. Bonus - the staff were thoughtful enough to give me the long black in two cups - one cup inside the other. Awarding 4 stars instead of 3 for that thoughtfulness.

This place is worth the stop in hot drinks and the fresh food as my family ordered the cream doughnuts and pies which was delicious prices a bit on the high side but well worth it. Seating inside while you can sit down and enjoy the goodness. It is a popular place as people entered the store to purchase their breakfast or lunch

Tuna rolls, and meat pies to die for! This place is a fairly pricey hence not 5 stars from me, however always friendly staff, have always had great great food, and coffee. A definite must to stop in at wither your a local or driving through. Highly recommend this place!

Wonderful food, staff were friendly ,very expensive.This is a place you get food that has you wanting to go back for more next time you pass by. Such a busy place at times.Went there at 1pm ish cabinets had sold out a lot of yummy delights and not replaced throughout afternoon.I notice this happens a lot in bakerys and Cafe's.So best to decide what experience you need or want when visiting.And how much you have to spend.Cafes own photos are correct,however someone has added photos not associated with the real business.

I'm not allowed to drive through Kaiwaka without going to La Nonna. It's just not a done thing, according to my best friend. The only time I drive past La Nonna, is when I want to make my life a misery. Needless to say I've eaten three butter chicken pies, two cinnamon doughnuts and one sausage roll from here over the Christmas/Summer break and I must admit... driving past La Nonna is just not a done thing 🥧
