A.What an awesome meal. A friend and I went to Zest for breakfast. The meal was huge and plate licking yummy. Ok, I didn’t lick my plate, but I really wanted too. 😊😊
S.What an amazing place to eat. The atmosphere was great and the food was to die for. I was a little worried when the food was taking a little while but then the owner came out and apologized for the mix up in the kitchen and gave us some complimentary cakes. I cant wait to go back again. Loved every crumb.
I.Really enjoyed the nice food...Had poached eggs on toast.There were sparrows flying around inside that were a bit of a worry. They were eating food off inside tables and pooing around them. Maybe put a fly screen up at the door to keep them out. Will be back
S.I enjoyed lunch here on 13th March 22, along with two friends. We were all impressed with the delicious meals, friendly service and great coffee.
R.Cafe decor quite dated, but very friendly staff made us feel welcome. Good service, we had the prawn and avo salad which was delicious. Thank you.

M.I'm a regular customer here and have been for the last few months.
The friande cakes here are delish! Sundays lot were superb I come here alot just for those and the amazing coffee.
And you can always guarantee you'll be greeted with a big smile and wonderful service from the young lady who works there with the beautiful neck tattoo, she's such a bright spark.
However, my regular visits there I have noticed the male chef is quite rude and obnoxious especially to other staff with the use of inappropriate language as well.
Its really hard not to over hear him.
His food handling skills are atrocious as well and his work bench is always filthy.
Now to end it on a good note, the coffee is always great and it is the best in kerikeri I look forward to seeing the new renovations as well.

M.waited a long time for my Iced coffee no cream ...and got crushed ice no ice cream and heaps of cream on top ....so wasn't as pleased as I could have been
R.I stopped here because it seemed very popular with all the tables full outside. Once I made my order I asked where the loo was and had to walk around the block basically to find it - and I couldn't find it so I just walked in a circle around the block and came back to get my food. I ordered the seafood chowder, it was heated almost scalding hot and all the seafood in it was chewy - for $18 I would have thought it would be better. The inside of the Cafe was very humid so I sat outside. I had my toddler seated beside me and when the waitress came out with our food I asked for water, she told me it was inside and to help myself so I had to grab the toddler, my bag etc, leave the food on the table to go inside and get us water - it was an average experience.

J.Don't be put off by the old fashioned tea room windows and dated interior of this delightful cafe. Tables inside plus side room with arm chairs for viewing the street. Extensive menu food and drinks. Hard working polite staff. Mocca was perfect heat the muffin delicious and lemon pie delish. Tables seating outside for about 20 people on nice wide pavement area close by to nicely planted pavement garden. Hard working chef cooking right behind serving counter so you can see and hear the food being prepared.
D.On a very hot, very busy day, the staff were quick and friendly. The muffin and chocolate brownie were excellent. My only issue was that the interior was stifling hot with no air conditioning.

A.After a long drive and less than 30 minutes before they closed, they sorted food and great coffee. The last that served us was also so friendly considering how close they were to closing.

All with a mug of cappaciono served hot with great coffee beans. All up the best breakfast I have had out in ages, well done 👍👍
C.Fast service and clean pleasent surroundings. Explained at ordering how long it would take. I ordered the eggs benedict with bacon. Nice touch with the seasoned Italian tomato and the spinach. Eggs were perfect and the sauce had just the right amount of zing. I would come back.

A.Kiwi breakfast was delicious, lose the herbs on the tomatoes and 9/10.
Chicken and bacon ceasar salad superb, highly recommended.
Tea was proper tea and was good to go after a top up with the hot water provided, which is quite rare in our experience.

T.I was attracted by the waffle when I walked by the shop. I ordered the chicken waffle which was not bad but I would like to have a sweet one next time. My daughter ordered the Rhubarb and Custard which was so yummy. The coffee was good too.
T.Coffee was good but not super, however their muffins and savouries are big and extremely tasty, and reasonably priced! Nice outdoor seating too although once someone was smoking nearby which made me go inside.

T.Came in today with my partner and two children and had what had to be the best breakfast I’ve had in the bay of islands. Lovely coffee amazing food and my fussy 6 and 4 year old eat the lot!!

K.Best coffee and smoothies we've had so far on this trip north. Only wish we had time to sample the food but we had already had fish & chips somewhere else before stopping here. Definitely recommended.
S.The caramel slice was really nice and the breakfasts were good but it was the service that let me down. First off there are no bathrooms and I spent ten minutes wandering the streets trying to follow vague directions to a public toilet. After eating we ordered some slices for the road and the man took our money then left and started making drinks. We were really confused and waited to a long time wondering if we were meant to go behind and get the slices ourselves. Better communication would go a long way.
N.The food looks appealing, and the waffles amazing. Sadly the staff on the coffee machine today were not up to speed, the coffee was horribly tainted. Keep the screen clean please! ... This next bit is added after the Owner's comment. Hmmmm, I see, rather defensive don't you think? "keep the screen clean" is an in-joke for the over-extraction of coffee (which makes it bitter) FYI. I am by my own admission a coffee snob, and do appreciate courtesy from hospitality staff, and I very much appreciate a new barista who asks after the quality of their creation so they know they are on-track in their pursuit of excellence. On the day, the staff member on the machine was not a new barista, nor very polite to my wife when she informed them the coffee was bitter. We did not drink our coffee, nor did we ask for a refund, as it's not about the money. The off-hand response from the barista was not becoming of ANY hospitality provider - a little courtesy goes a long way. Another reviewer would perhaps rate 1 star because of this, but I rate on the overall experience of quality service; That is pleasant staff, reasonable price, and quality of product. I have assessed Zest as "OK" as one person and their attitude should not mar an otherwise excellent venue, nor detract from the other staff who were impeccable. Will we come back? Yes but. The but being, if the same person is on the coffee machine, we will order tea.
