I had heard so much about this cafe that I had to try. The food was so delicious. Best Lamb shank and fish&chips i have ever had. Highly recommend this place to stop over especially if you have kids as they have a huge section for kids to play around.

Great outdoor seating area - dog friendly. The service was great, and food was really good. Portion sizes were large I had the eggs Benedict, and the largest coffee id ever had!

Been a few times but always just a quick bite. Stopped in on New years eve for breakfast. One of the best breakfasts we have had for a long time and great friendly service. Mince on toast is so good. How about you move to Whangarei, we need some decent cafes here.

Such an awesome cafe! Love everything about it-kid and pet friendly our son loved the park and our dog loves the awesome amount of shade provided! Food is fantastic beautifully presented too and how awesome are the fluffies! Our son was so happy with his! Staff are fab! Thanks definitely be back again! :)

Friendly staff great coffee and the best scone I have eaten for a long time. Good size, NO sugar added and great with the jam and cream. Thanks really enjoyed that.

The yummiest hot chocolate I've ever had! The French toast brekkie and the big brekkie were so so good! Great area, and the staff member at the front (blonde lady) was super awesome, chatty and friendly, amazing at her job! Definitely one of the nicest Cafe visits I've had ♡ thankyou

Had the lunch menu very family friendly place kids enjoyed the playground while waiting for food . Food was good quality and absolutely delicious for the price . Would recommend for mother groups or catch up with friends. Excellent friendly service.

Well what can I say! My wife and I stopped in for the very first time at this little cafe restaurant and wow 😳 we were astonished by the amazing coffee and then the lunch..... My wife had the Cheese and Onion soup and I had the calamari salad. These were both the best soup and salad we have had in years and would solidly recommend stopping in here, we definitely will be back. Thanks Rust Tractor team you guys rock and are so friendly.

Best gluten free vegetarian lasagna ever! The staff were really friendly and helpful. The place was also very quirky and cool. Would definitely return if I am in the region again.

I asked her if they have candle to serve with my husband’s scone. When they serve his meal, the lady came with a portable speaker with happy birthday song playing. That was going an extra mile! It was the best experience. Good food is always just a bonus if staff is friendly. Highly recommend the sausage roll from food cabinet. We also came 10minutes before their opening time but they we already open and ready to serve us. Excellent customer service and attention to detail.

Yum yum yum. Had poached eggs, bacon and a hash brown. Serving was generous with a swag of bacon which surprised me. Usaully places give 3 strips. This was like 7! Crispy and delish 👌 Partner had the bacon bun. Epic! We will be back. - Bodytrainer

Lovely place for lunch on a girls trip to KeriKeri. The staff were so polite and went above and beyond offering us food from the menu even though the kitchen had just closed for the afternoon. The food was amazing, will recommend to all and will definitely be back!

More than a cafe/eatery. This place is real in both food and service. A place that is truly a part of the community. Great for lunch meetings, perfect for big groups.

Awesome little cafe with a lovely shady garden setting. Service was lovely and friendly, and the coffee was one of the best I've had up in the Bays area. Definitely worth a stop if you're passing by.

My steak sandwich was below average. Beautiful meat cooked lovely, but then just onions. The homemade bun was nice and crunchy. I would've expected a small salad with it.The kumara chips were yum but some garlic sauce wouldve been nice with them rather than tomatoe sauce.

Eggs benedict great! Great place for breaking up a long trip up north.

We visited the Rusty Tractor for lunch and found it to be expensive for what we got, particularly the kids meals, and especially as table service wasn’t offered. There seemed to be a huge variation in portion sizes between different menu items. The outdoor area is lovely, though the playground needed a spruce up. We would consider returning for coffee and cake another time.

Lovely coffee. The breakfast selection is quite standard for a cafe and there aren't many allowances for a nice filling gluten free or vegetarian or even vegan meal, not that I am any of these, but sometimes I prefer something not so heavy to eat. However, as far as cafes go it is good :) good location for us so we stop here when we pass.

Coffees great. The wait time always seems to be long. And the sandpit could use a top up. Lovely place with playground for kids but really does need upgrading. Broken swing was unusable.

Nice atmosphere with kids playground. Dog friendly, and we saw a few cute fluffy around. Didn’t expect coffee to be this good outside of Auckland. Steak sandwich, the steak was a bit tasteless but the onion inside was tasty, even though I don’t like onions. The bread was fresh and yummy. The chunky fries got soft when I was half way into them, so didn’t finish them.

Lovely cafe to stop by if you are doing a road trip. Both their food and pastry are very nice. The almond croissant was simply divine! We had our kids with us and they enjoyed the playground the lovely orange trees outside

The staff were so friendly, and the atmosphere is so peaceful, tranquil, and beautiful. There is room for children to play, which is awesome, and lots of shade. My bacon was slightly overcooked, eggs cooked perfectly, though. Good iced coffee. *Editing to say my mother eats gluten free only, Menu says GF on things, but some staff seem quite unaware of the sauces contents, etc... that many sauces contain wheat and gluten etc etc. If you are not gluten free (like me) it's an okay place to eat. Just be aware of your GF friends and family.

Easy to find. Great off-street parking (shade zone if you're right time right place; we were). Gravel/stone parking zone with easy walk to welcoming, substantially-open air cafe. Dine in or dine outside - as we did to enjoy time under an umbrella at one of the many outside tables available while the toddlres/children enjoyed the green zones and play area. A good range of hot and cold dishes, hot and cold drinks to choose from at fairly reasonable prices. Slightly upmarket feel to the whole experience for our small crowd. Staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back.

The food here was fine, but it took FOREVER for it to arrive. For very basic breakfasts we had to wait a good 50 minutes. They gave us free coffee as an apology but they do need to be a bit better with their food prep scheduling. That said the staff were friendly and the food was typical cafe quality, pretty good.

Great cafe with lovely garden and children's play area. Coffee and food was ex excellent. Highly recommended.

I had a very pleasant lunch here a few weeks ago sitting out in the garden on a warm Northland afternoon. The staff were very friendly though I thought they could have been a little bit more proactive in going around and clearing the tables. As most of the venue is outside the birds sure got a kick out of helping themselves to the food that was left on the plates scattering the tables. Not very hygienic. Prices here are a little on the high side with simple offerings from the kitchen that are cooked to a pretty decent standard.

I follow a vegan diet, so eating here was a bit of a challenge. The other people's food did look great. Great presentation. Nice place to eat outdoors as well. NZ just doesn't understand how to make vegan food. It's not this places fault.

Best coffee in Kerikeri and one of the very few places in town to offer a number of dairy-free milk alternatives. My wife and I LOVE their Coconut Milk Lattes! Food never fails to disappoint and although they could probably look at expanding their gluten/grain and dairy-free options, I have always found them only to happy to make substitutions and swaps when requested. The staff are so lovely and always advise if there is a wait during busy times. Very worthy of 5 stars!

The food was great. Drinks were nice. Service was great. Cute warm little place. But it took a while for our food to come out. It wasnt busy at all. Other than that, the overall experience was great and id happily recommend it to family and friends passing through.

Wasn't a fan of the food, the eggs bene was over cooked and the fried chicken was tasteless. Came to this place as it was highly recommended online, the cafe and ambience is beautiful but the food not so much.

My poached chicken salad was great. Coffee good. Naturally shaded playground for kids kept them entertained. But would be better to have something on kids menu without chips...

Fantastic coffee and good food with courteous and obliging staff. This cafe restaurant is in a spacious garden setting with summer shade and a warm cosy fire in winter. There is a great playground for the children so parents can enjoy some relaxing moments as their children are busy. Totally recommended

The best seafood chowder ever!! Lovely, family friendly environment and superb quality food qnd service.

Nice atmosphere. Arrived at around 2.45 and was told the kitchen magically closes at 2.30. We ordered a sausage roll for $9 and a croissant for 12.50 . Go to McDonald's

Simple food perfectly cooked and served. Service was not prompt at 8am, a time with few customers, and our order was incomplete. But rectified quickly once notified. Beware the sour dough with most dishes as it can overwhelm.

Wow! Had a bacon and egg buttie, and a "rusty bucket" of coffee. Probably the best breakfast I've ever had. Everything done perfectly, presented beautifully and overwhelmingly delicious. And the staff were wonderful! You have to try this place!

Do not go past The Rusty Tractor! This is New Zealand tasty casual dining at its finest, seafood chowder is so amazingly good and my partners fish n chips were spectacular! The staff friendly, and service timely, as you would expect for a proper cook from scratch experience. If you want instant food - carry on to McDs - this place deserves taking the time to enjoy it !

Lovely location just out of town in kerikeri . Lots of food to choose from for everyone. The staff are friendly and the premises is very child friendly with lovely outdoor area for running around and playing. Greeted with a glowing hot fire on a cold day and lovely hot coffees.

Nice atmosphere and good kids playground (if out of theme for the cafe), customer service was average and the calzone was more dough than filling. A decent stop if you're travelling through but other cafes in town.

Enjoying a lovely day out, we went to Rusty Tractor for lunch...I ordered a fish burger which wasnt on menu, it was the nicest fish burger i have ever had the pleasure in eating...everything was super fresh and great value for money! We thoroughly loved everything about the place..Keep up the great work!!

Love the Rusty Tractor. Food good whether you just want a coffee with a bite to eat or a Brunch, or Lunch. Nice and handy for travellers heading north or south as just off the highway.

We know it a good cafe... but have been turned away twice.. at 2.30 pm on Saturday and 3pm on a Tuesday the staff wish to close early... it clearly states 4pm closing

Great setting for kids with a play ground but no gluten free available from the glass cabinet if just wanting something small and needing GF.

The food is very good but they have been unable to adjust to there success the kitchen stops doing the lunch and only dose all day breakfast when they are to busy the staff are great but the kitchen is very inefishent so if you have had breakfast and you want lunch don't waste your time you will most likely be disappointed unless you want to eat breakfast twice or eat out of a cabernet.

Delicious food as always lovely atmosphere. A favourite place of mine hard to beat and the staff are beautiful.

Stopped off at this cafe on the way North and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the large playground area for the kids. Good break area if your on a long road trip.

This should be renamed to the Trusty Tractor, because the food is always great. The best in Kerikeri. A must if you are visiting the Bay of Islands.
