B.Service with a smile and a nice little courtyard in which to enjoy your coffee. We had cheese scones, nice coffees and some curly fries; all of which were of a good standard.
L.Very good selection. Food all fresh and tasty. Indoor seating and outdoor courtyard seating, lovely and relaxing, and sheltered from winds.
A.Great coffee, menu is more basic but tasty options & the cabinet food looked great. Service was a bit slow but would visit again. Lacking in other drink options though like smoothies and fresh juices.
E.Very cosy garden area, I had a Spanish breakfast which is delicious. They should provide more tap water though.
R.Really great job. The food was lovely, I had the brioche bun chicken burger, it was delicious. Others were delighted with their salmon eggs Benedict on potato rosti. The coffee was very good, they took the time to make me a special Cortado (wish it was on the menu, hint hint). Lovely staff doing great.

J.Lovely to sit outside on a hot day under shady umbrellas. Efficient fast-moving friendly smiling staff. Lots of food choice in the cabinet even though the cafe was busy. Our heated bacon & egg paninis were right temperature and brought to us in good time. The blueberry muffin was melt-in-the-mouth delicious.
C.Friendly staff, nice courtyard out the back which is sunny and sheltered. Food is typical cafe fare, selection isn't vast but no cause for complaint. I'll probably go back next time I'm in Eastbourne.

C.Good range of gluten free cabinet food, but unfortunately there was only one option that was raw, gluten free, dairy free, and refined sugar free: the typical bliss ball (which my daughters and I enjoyed.) It'd be so great if they stocked 'Raw Goodness' treats - one of those with a Hive coffee would be worth going back for :) Friendly and prompt service. Beautiful setting in the garden and pleasant atmosphere inside as well. Children's toys and highchair available. Really delicious & perfectly made long black with their own roasted coffee 'Hive'. You can buy the coffee beans there, too. Clean and tidy bathroom.
G.This trip was well out of my normal path, but a pleasant treat once we got there. I was surprised with the amount of space there is in the courtyard, with a mix of sun and cover to suit. It's clearly a dog friendly location, with several family friends trotting in and out during our visit, which is good to keep in mind for a weekend outing.
Our stop was only a quick coffee break, so I have no real advice on the kitchen, but it's good to see that oat milk is on the coffee menu.
B.Best cafe anywhere. Friendly and attentive staff bring great food to your table. The Ceaser salad is delicious, the burgers are also. There's a dog friendly courtyard where you can sit in the sun
M.Great service and food. Dog friendly - walk through to the outside courtyard via the alleyway. Good breakfast, friendly staff, wifi and check out the business breakfast in my photo! Eggs, hashbrown, kransky sausage, bacon 🥓 and black pudding! Yummy!
G.Popular well supported local Eastborne cafe that is family and dog friendly with a good sized courtyard - partly shaded. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon options are good as is the coffee, available up to large bowl size (with handle). Enjoyed Anzac Day brunch with combined family group and more recently breakfast.
L.Good atmosphere with different areas to sit. There is outside and upstairs plus a small amount of tables in the serving area. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is good. Coffee is great which is more important to me than the food.
A.Happy smiling staff make a big difference to a cafe. The staff here were really happy to help.
We called in after a big bike ride so we were hot, thirsty and hungry. We chose a table outside, out of the sun as it was quite hot.
Drinks arrived promptly and food was fabulous.
Mr 16 ordered poached eggs and rated them a 5 out of 5
Miss 12 got curly fries which were great and I ordered fried chicken which was also very good. hubby ate the left overs.
There was a small range of cabinet food available.
We will be back.

C.Hive has a calm courtyard garden at the back that allows well-behaved dogs, There's a passage alongside the Cafe for canine access without going through inside. Usually we just go for coffee and a cake, but there is a breakfast and lunch menu. Lovely helpful staff.

B.We often take a drive to Eastbourne to have a walk on the beach and a coffee and snack at Hive. Food cabinet selection is limited but interesting but the menu is good with prompt delivery. Coffee is good and you get it delivered with a smile while it is hot. Try the toasted sandwiches and chips, good value.
They have a great courtyard at the rear which is really pleasant with the exception of the more recent invasion of starlings that can really ruin the occasion. It needs to be addressed as they are fowling everywhere and the last thing you want to do is wash the seat before you can sit on it. When you leave check out the green grocer across the road.

b.Good hot coffee. Yummy food. All in sundry meet here. The upstairs is quite differently decorated than the ground floor. If you were a spy, having to bring down a government, you could plan in the quiet and have a nice lunch.

P.Great food. Had toasted bread and eggs with hash brown, tomatoes, kransky sausage and bacon. Large serving, perfectly cooked, great atmosphere. Coffee was a bit underwhelming, lukewarm, which in a long black is not ideal. Would go back tho. 👍🙂

H.One of my favourite new spots. The service was friendly from all of the staff we encountered. They catered beautifully to our toddler, making sure we had everything she needed. The food was fantastic, and the coffee and iced coffee were the best I've had in a long time. I really appreciated the easy-access sunscreen and water outside, as well as a selection of hats to borrow, water bowls for dogs, and toys for kids to play with. Plenty of seating, and a beautiful outdoor area. My family and I would gladly make the trip out to Eastbourne to visit again!
M.Great spot, great food, great service! I had an order go wrong and the way the young man who took our order dealt with it. He showed great maturity and customer service. He tracked down what went wrong, fixed it, then went above and beyond by offering free coffees for our troubles. Everyone makes mistakes, but it's the putting right that counts and it added to our lovely day. Highly recommend.

J.Update: went back fur brunch on a pretty quiet Saturday and was warned about a 25 minute wait for scrambled eggs & toast - ended up waiting more like 45! That said, it was cooked just to my liking which isn't always easy. The Hash Browns look and taste like the Watties frozen ones.
Always had great food and service at Hive. The missing star is mainly because there was no sweet (waffle/pancake/etc.) option on the breakfast menu last time I went there. Everything else is pretty hard to fault, other than the usual kids running around the place but one can hardly blame the cafe for that.
