Had a family dinner outing tonight 31/12/21. Absolutely a lovely place to dine and the staff is so wonderful, the service and food👌just magnificent. Definitely recommended☺️☺️

What a fantastic pizza probably the best I've ever had. The staff were friendly and helpful with excellent recommendations for local wine. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic place for breakfast , lunch or just coffee. I have taken my little son for a “date” with mummy there last week and the staff working there were so kind and friendly. Not everyone gets excited when you bring toddler into restaurant well it is not case of this cafe. Because everyone was so nice to him and all smiley he was the most wonderful little man to go out with. The food was delicious and the coffee amazing! Well done everyone! It was a wonderful experience and I will be coming back :-) .

It has a great atmosphere. Clean. No service unless you have social pass. I had salmon eggs benedict and loved it as the hollandaise sauce tasted home made. Very polite patronage and even had great convo with a person. Ooh yes coffee was great too.

Food was excellent and view was spectacular. Items were not overpriced as well. A great environment :)

I've been going to this establishment pretty much since the beginning over 30 years ago when it was Cafe Nina and through all its subsequent owners, to now. I am happy that it has retained its casual dining vibe, simple but good food, excellent service and wide selection of good wines. The greeting was super friendly, the seating arrangements comfy and uncrowded and they were so accommodating. Really enjoyed our meals. The seared scallops were SUBLIME and the eye filet melted in the mouth. My boys loved the pizza and it was just a great, relaxed, dining experience all round. Keep up the good work team. You're doing really well in such tough times. You really shone last night. Well done.

Bacon and eggs were very greasy. Seems to be a tread I’m finding in a lot of cafes to cook in a lot of oil. Not appealing. Few customers but took ages to get coffee Coffee tide out. If I’m paying for a large please bring it to the top of the cup. Had to go up to counter and order as no one coming to our table. No salt n pepper, had to go ask. No water offered. Yet staff were looking a bit lost in kitchen having their own breakfast by the looks. We normally love this place and it’s usually much better than this. Maybe an off day.

Restaurant provides great service, meals are serviced in large portion. Pizza medium size is good enough for one hungry man. Main dishes are above $30, that is properly reasonable price for hot tourism spot. Restaurant keeps clean and tidy include toilet 🪠. It's good idea to book in advance. The waiting time is about 45 minutes, if that is normal. Then, this restaurant is all good around. Please scan bar code and have vaccine pass ready before entering the property.

Amazing dinner, fish served on risotto was Devine, scallops were a pick as was seafood risotto. The chefs know what they’re doing! Professional outfit, recommend, only downside was the female waitress who was not very friendly, would recommend.

Altogether, it's not a bad place to eat out and is probably the fanciest in Mangonui. However, the menu is a bit repetitive and hasn't changed in years. Would really love to see more of the local seafood on the menu: oysters, sashimi... The menu really needs to be spruced up a bit especially for the tourist season. The service was good however we felt a bit rushed with all of our food arriving at the same time so we struggled to fit it on the table and hurried to eat it while it was still warm. The restaurant is clean and tidy and boasts beautiful harbour views so if you're are in the area and looking for somewhere to have a special dinner at, this is the place for you

Swung by the waterfront cafe after a big night at Luxon’s house. An A+ coffee, much needed to soothe the brain after sinking too many lines.

Meal was great, traffic sometimes close and noisey, nothing the restaurant can do about that! Overall, a great arget place for a Sunday pizza and beer.

I reckon this is the best place for Breakfast ever! The portions were huge but equally tasty. Efficient service, friendly staff and awesome location. A must try!

There’s not many bars when ordering wine and champagne your glass is hand polished before pouring. A nice wine list, that doesn’t have the usual boring selection. A few nice surprises. Coupled with reasonable prices and a fabulous view what more could you want

Lovely breakfast. We recommend the Waterfront Breakfast and the eggs Benedict, and the coffee.

The welcome we received wasn't particularly warm and friendly. Ordered our drinks but no mention of the fish dish of the day or specials. They know how to cook fish perfectly, however the rice in the risotto wasn't arborio. Staff enthusiasm would make a big difference. Didn't even get offered dessert even though we would have politely declined

Superb food. Scallops were divine. Seafood pasta was yummy and the Pizza was huge. Lovely /friendly service.

Absolutely exceptional food, but having gone twice in two days can confirm that service is unfriendly. Gave the benefit of the doubt after the first time. Very slow even when quiet too. To be honest, food is probably tasty enough to make the bad service almost worth it though...

We had half-half 'Capricosa' and 'Waterfront special' large pizza and greek salad - both were amazing.

Lovely place that we had heard great things about. Went for breakfast but had to wait over 15min for the food, then the orders were wrong and my mum had to wait even longer. The food was delish but not really worth the wait or the money. The coffees were delish.

Great steak meal and a tasty red wine. Good break from the summer takeaways meals.

We had an extremely nice and tasty flavoured dinner plus Berry pudding. To be honest, one of the best meals I have had. Service was good also. Liked the steel artwork advertised as well.

Brilliant service, delicious food and wine selection. I had the salmon potato cakes and by golly, they were scrummy! We were lucky enough to get the last slice of caramel mud cake which is to die for! Highly recommend and will for sure be back!

The best dinner in ages.and we eat out v often! Recommend the Scallops as main and Lamb rack -devine! First rate Chef. Attentive and welcoming. Cannot understand any negative comments except if busy and no fault for any restaurant in that circumstance.

I didn't get a good meal this time, but usually the food is good. I just won't have calamari next time. It was tender but extremely oily.

Thanks for the korero and feeding us last night. You guys rock. Kept the kitchen open to make us pizza at 8.40pm when I'm sure you would have all rather have packed up to go home. Stopped by With nothing particular in mind, and ended having a sumptuous pizza (vegetarian). The hot chocolate and coffee was pretty good too. Courteous staff.

The pizza looked and tasted amazing, I tried both the "Lamb" and the "Capricciosa". They were full of lots of delicious and different ingredients, all of them went very well together! Highly recommend!😋

Food was nice, but poor table service, and we had to wait almost an hour for our lunch, a hard task with 2 young children.

Awesome. I had Roast Lamb Ribs with Moroccan Veges, beautifully cooked. Service was lovely. It has local artists work on the walls, very cool pieces.

Pizzas are glorious, and they do sticky date pudding (you can take it away if you are worried about a food coma). The coffee is very good, they do struggle a little on holiday weekends, don't expect fast service during the rush (unsurprisingly). Great view of the world from outside tables.

Lovely location. The full breakfast very tasty with lovely bacon slices and good quality. The BLT very tasty but served with too much mayonnaise. The cappuccino needed to be served a lot warmer. Would definitely visit again.

Great little seaside restaurant. I love my fresh snapper and I have to say that the Market fish of the day which was snapper was the best I’ve ever had. I’m pretty sure either the waiter or the chef caught it too. Wonderful meal.

We dined here on New Year’s Eve, the food was excellent, fresh, well-cooked, the menu was elegant. The service was great, very friendly. Beautiful views of the water too!

Great location and great food!

Three Diners for lunch, we had no intent to stop here but so glad we did, absolute waterfront setting with outstanding views upon the Mangonui Harbour, inside and outside dining and a beautifully appointed well stocked Bar. Two of us chose the Hapuku which was beautifully cooked, our other guest selected the Pita breads and dips extremely well presented and very tasteful, we had to try it. The reviewer does visit Mangonui on a regular basis and in future will include another visit to this venue, highly recommended.

Lovely friendly people and a good brunch menu. I previously experienced a stale scone when i ordered to takeaway but much better dining in.

A nice outlook over the Mongonui harbour that's for sure but the building is a little run down and could do wirh a spruce up. The staff were relatively happy and courtious towards the patrons. The wait time for our food was a little to long and a also it was a little pricey for the portion size but still very tasty, the wait was due to how popular they are so understandable. 5/10 overall

Every meal we have had has been fantastic. Great salads, especially the Ceasar salad! The staff are always happy and friendly regardless of how busy they are. Great view and location.

I had a really good chicken caesar salad here while the OH had an equally good snapper with greens and sauteed potatoes with tomato salsa. The coffee was ok but didn't quite reach the standard of the food. Definitely recommend this seaside eatery.

Great food, great service. We ordered an eggs benedict and a french toast with coffee and a pomegranate arizona ice tea. They poured the tea into a tall glass with a straw and even brought the reminder out in the bottle which i found an unusual but very welcomed touch. Really great place.

Only had coffee but it was the best coffee I'd had for a very long time. Service was friendly & efficient - highly recommended.

Just came here for a drink with a couple of friends. Very slow service. The girl must have been new (at least I hope that was the excuse). She couldn't open the mini Lindauer, opened three just to get one open for me. Wouldn't take my offer of help. Then struggled with pouring a vodka and opening a can of lemonade. Again offered help, but instead she disappears to another area of the restaurant where we see her delivering meals before reappearing confused and screwing up the payment. Not taking payment for one of the drinks having to do another transaction. Very frustrating. Took about 15 mins to get served yet there were other staff around. On a good note, the food we watched diner's being served looked ok.

A small but well presented venue across the road from the water. Pleasant service and yummy food. The salmon potato cakes are delish.

Awesome ace to eat. Angus medallions were so tender we cut them with our forks. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Really excellent pizzas - the large size is really large, and the meat, veggies and cheese toppings taste fresh. A bit expensive, but the good quality food is worth it.

Love stopping here for lunch or there pizza nights on Thursdays. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Allow a bit of time to enjoy the scenery and food to come out

Hey I took a group of work mates to this super Café Best Steak in Town and great to taste Northland Phat House Craft Beers will always be my top choice in Mangonui
