A.This place proves how important customer service is, the owner makes you feel so so welcome and at home he values your custom. On top of that it's dog friendly. Can't fault the coffee it's great! And the food is so tasty. Another favourite. Been 3 times now and consistently 5 stars for me.

Our group all enjoyed their hot drinks, scones and snacks, the outdoor seating, clean toilet and excellent service.

r.I enjoyed the coffee it was smooth and rich and the barista did a good job. The food and menu on the other hand is average. I think there is too much going on with the menu. It needs to be simplified. We went there just before lunch but it was still morning and the breakfast menu was finished? One menu that runs all day would simply things and all day breakfasts are really popular these days and a staple for cafes. The sacrafice is that the multiple different menu items with a change to lunch items means it's creating pressure in the kitchen and the detail is missed with the food and service. I like the environment, need to make more of a show piece of the roastery...staff were good but struggling to keep up to be fair and again missing detail and chance to upsell.

C.Such a cool new Mexican restaurant with a Honduras influence. Delicious 'Gracias' coffee. Really friendly and helpful staff. Locally made Kate's kombucha available. Gluten-free option (corn tortillas). Bright decor, relaxed but fun ambiance, and even some lovely wooden toys for the kids.

N.Nicely set up place although a little bit cramped. Another way of describing it would be cozy. Great location especially the window tables where you can watch the traffic and people passing by. The coffee was ok. I had a long black that definitely had some bitterness to it although my friend seemed to enjoy his latte. Also had lemon curd cake that was pretty poor to be honest. Half of it was hard like it had been in the cabinet for a few days. It was near closing time when we went so make of that what you will. To sum it up.... there's room for improvement.

I’m giving it a 4.75 because I think all cafes in NZ should sell poached eggs. Instead I had a yummy Mexican dish which was delicious.
If you don’t care about poached eggs then you can read this as a true 5 star!
Coffee was good. Staff chatty. Owner was there and welcoming. I sat outside in the sun and enjoyed the experience.

A.Beautiful and authentic Mexican/Latin American food. The coffee is not to be missed since they roast their own beans. Worth buying a bag to bring home and they'll grind it up for you as well.
B.Excellent service from the counter and a nice cosy vibe, salmon bagel was on point and carrot cake delicious. Only let down by curdled soy milk in coffee - it can be frothed without curdling I promise!

H.I had the Special, on Friday's it's Fish Taco's really delish. The Customer Service was excellent, the female Waitress had a really helpful manner and just a sweet girl. The Barista, he was really good as well. Their manner was humble, in the present, relaxed, very sweet and the best I've experienced in any business in Masterton so far. I would definitely hire these two if I had a Cafe of my own, I would steal them away from Don Luciano ha haaaaa! Bravo bravo!!

H.Hi I’m Hunter and I’m 9 my Mum takes us for a treat sometimes and my brother and I get the Pancakes OMG they are so delicious. Mum always gets coffee, I don’t know why adults drink it but she says it’s the best in town. My Nan takes her friends there for the spicy Prawns, I tried one and it made my tongue hot and tickley!! The boss man makes us laugh because he talks with funny sounding words, Mum said he can speak other languages. I hope we can go again soon but Mum said only if we are good. This is my first ever review I had some help with the spelling :-)

B.This place serves the best coffee in the Wairarapa without a doubt and the best thing about it is that Don Luciano's is 100% real. There's no pretentiousness like you will find in South Wairarapa (I'm looking at you Martinborough) and the owner and his staff are genuinely welcoming and friendly people. Now let's mention the food: simply outstanding. The menu is just full of proper Mexican and Latin American favourites. I had the Baliadas and Shelley had the Aztec soup and we were thrilled with our choices. The décor is so cool and the atmosphere makes this the place to be in Masterton. I will never leave Masterton again without going to Don Luciano's. Just brilliant
S.Best coffee in Masterton for sure, I no longer have to drive to Wellington to get coffee of this standard or my single origin beans for home! Mexican food is authentic and tasty and Marvin really brings a special touch with his table service.
