The Professor and I had been travelling and decided to stop in Matamata. We needed to stretch our legs and while walking came upon this cafe. We were greeted and orders taken. The service was excellent. We were there for coffee and scone, oven heated and served with lashing of butter. That is what we got, all tasting great. I noted the food coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. We will make sure to be in the market for brunch when next in the area.

Couldn't fault it. We arrived around 145pm and I asked when they were closing and they said 2pm and let us know we could still order and relax, which we did. They didn't rush us and we didn't feel rushed. Great service right to the end and great coffee and food selection. We'll be back

Stopped off on our way to Coromandel and enjoyed a lovely chicken Caesar salad which wasn't on the menu but offered to make.

My Mother had the salmon Benny which she thoroughly enjoyed with a lovely large flat white, l had the pork belly steam buns which l have had before, even though it was not on the menu they still cooked it up for me and it was absolutely delicious. I got a takeaway one as well for my wife and she was as happy as l was with mine. The staff were efficient, pleasant and very helpful. I fully recommend going to Momento😋.

Trying a change of cafe today on my trip through Matamata and have enjoyed a late breakfast at momento. Eggs and bacon were good as was the coffee - quick service clean and friendly staff. Another stop in the way home and the food and service remains excellent. Today I was naughty in food choices and had an almond croissant which was excellent and the porridge. Cost is $$

The coffee is great as is the food with vegetarian options! It’s spacious and warm. Highly recommend. There are also gluten free meals along with Leto diet options. This place is great. It has very friendly staff too!

Excellent breakfast spot, we stopped here enroute to Hobbiton and it was an excellent spot for coffee and breakfast. The staff were extremely friendly, the food was delicious and there was free WiFi.

Beautiful cafe. The salmon eggs Benedict and big breakky was delicious and staff were so lovely putting a little tomato sauce face on our toddlers plate. Just so nice seeing that they went out of their way to make her happy was so nice. Thank you so much for a making a lovely morning out that much better. It was hugely appreciated and we will definitely be coming back

We had a lovely Mothers Day breakfast here. All the meals were lovely, but mine was the best. I had the Vegetable Breakfast Stack, roasted veg topped with a grilled tomato, poached egg and pesto hollandaise.

If i was rating this place on food, i would have given it a 4 star. But the coffee let it down so gave it a 3 star. Nice friendly staff and the food didn't take too long to come out to us. Clean toilets and if you're looking for a place to stop off at between Tauranga and Auckland, you won't go wrong here.

Usually has good lunch options, yummy bakery items and good coffee. A bit if a fly problem the last two times I've been. Also because the flies liked the dirty cups and plates on our table it would have helped if someone had removed them as we're there for a 1.5 hr meeting with several people and I had to shove them to the end of the table to try to get the flies behind us.

My Mother had the salmon Benny and curly fries which she thoroughly enjoy along with a large flat white and l had an English breakfast pot of tea, a very pleasant and delightful lunch. I fully recommend coming to Momento and trying it for yourself.

Fabulous cafe Came for breakfast on Sunday morning and it was absolutely delicious. I had the veggie stack, and it’s just amazing. Been to the cafe a few times now and love it, great friendly staff and great customer service. Lots to choose from either on the menu or from the great selection in the cabinet I will definitely be back again

I had a berry cheesecake which was labelled as "Keto" but it didn't list P/F/NC and the cream tasted like it was from a can so who knows if it was really ketogenic? It was small and we were in a hurry so I had it anyway, but if you are strictly ketogenic it might be interesting to ask what they think "keto" means.

We visited here for brunch on the way back from our summer holiday with a hungry infant and a tired toddler. The staff were very friendly, helpful and understanding of our needs, what with having young children one of which was throwing a few tantrums (he calmed down soon enough). Coffee is good and the steamed pork buns were fantastic. This is also a safe place to breastfeed while eating. My only criticism is that the decor is plastic, white and not very inviting, but this is coming from someone who visited there anyway so minimal, all things considered.
