Basic waffle, flavours were good. Nice amount of fruit and toppings. Ambience was alright, beachfront. Expected more quality for the price and location.

Went here with 5 friends and we all enjoyed our choices for brunch. The scones we had were delicious, the bagel I had, which is pictured, was fab. The coffee and drinks were great too. Service was excellent - we will definitely be back. Well worth a visit.

Great location, with outdoor seating in the shade and sun! They have an option where you can order through QR codes, which was fast, and seamless. Food arrived promptly, and was yummy. However they forgot the some key ingredients (BBQ sauce).

I've been visiting this cafe over the last year or so. The staff are multinational and very personable. The menu includes staples like Eggs Benedict, together with their own dishes, currently a beef pie with tantalizing spices. Not spicy hot, just comfortably unusual. The prices are fairly standard. The coffee is tasty, and of course the beach views are to-die-for. Well recommended.

Ordered 3 meals and three drinks. Smoothie came out without a straw,so hand to go inside and get one and wait to behind others ordering at the bar. Food came out 30 mins after ordering, have a rule of thumb that if the wait is longer than 20mins you should be advised. The chips were almost in the point of being cold, but burgers we nice.

Great position on the seafront, ordered via their link which was super easy, although beware the photo on the menu is not what you get. I ordered avocado smash, in the photo it showed 2 pieces of bagel with avo and a poached egg on each, nah it came with avo on one side and one egg, felt like we had been dupped. Tasted good anyway. There was no one available when ordering or when leaving to speak too.

We had a group off about ten and a staff member sorted a table for us outside. We all were wearing our masks and scanning in when ordering and had our vaccine pass also scanned. Another option was also available to order from your table with a QR code and table number and pay from your phone. One person did it this way and it worked very well . Yes the coffee ☕ and food option were great also. 👍

Great location right opposite the beach! Food was really good. But bread for eggs bene was too hard and was not a hit. Coffee was ok. Nutella cookie pie was soo dry. Would I go back, yeah but it wouldn’t be my first pick. Prices are affordable too.

It's typically busy here, even in winter for the obvious reason, location. The coffee is good, the food is great. Good menu board items as well as large selection of pre-prepared cabinet food. Service is generally good, but can take a while to get orders out when it's busy.

Prime location, pleasant staff, a good selection on the menu. The cabinet food displayed inside looked scrumptious. We had ceaser salad with a generous amount of chicken which was good, I had seafood soup which had some seafood in it.

Nice spot across the road form the beach, cafe styled food as well as the option of alcohol, note you can only be seated in a certain zone to drink alchohol. Service was friendly and quick and the atmosphere was relaxing. Worth a visit for a bite to eat and a drink

Nice little cafe, lots of selection of foods from cabinet goodies to something more substantial you could order. Lovely service and views to beachfront beautiful. The little quiche sadly was a bit bland, and the side salad a bit basic for the price, but the carrot cake huge muffin was delicious and the coffee excellent!!

Open late and close early for some reason, even during school holidays with good weather. Couldn’t get a coffee at 7:50am as they were still opening up. Then they pack up at 2:15pm. Weird.

5 Star Rating! Such a delicious brunch and the service was really quick even though they were really busy! Pretty pricey but worth it as the meals were large! I ordered the vegie DC breakfast and couldn't finish it all. The veggie sausage was like a falafel type sausage which was AMAZING! Way better than fake meat which some places do. Definitely will be returning!

Lovely view of the beach while enjoying a nice lunch. Staff were pleasant, price was average and we loved sitting outside. The seagulls can be very cheeky swiping food from your plate while you’re not watching! it was quite late and they were partly cleaning up. However we were made to feel very welcome, the service was great and the food lovely would go back again.

Always busy. Great food and coffee. My only cons are: 1. Closes too early in the day 2. Kids food isn’t very kid friendly - French toast was try-hard healthy sort. One slice thin soggy-eggy bread covered in syrup and fruit (inc cooked banana, apple sticks, pear, strawberry, kiwifruit, rhubarb and some weird yoghurt and nut mash). This caused end of the world event for fussy non-fruit eater and had to get her a cheese scone (menu just says kids French toast so be warned).

Okay, obviously convenient location being right across the street from the main beach but the food was uninspiring. The fish tacos were okay (pretty good portion of fish actually), and the burger about the same. If you can, would walk back toward the main strip as there are many other options.

I think Deckchair does a good job. They have a larger menu than other cafes at the Mount, but I can't say they are better for it. The food is all around high quality, but they have competition just a few doors down that I think delivers a slightly higher quality product. Nevertheless, you won't be disappointed by your meal at Deckchair and should give it a try.

I have never eaten here so I can't account for the food or drink. However I would like to give a huge THANK YOU to the lady owner and her daughter. My wife and I were in Tauranga for her sons wedding in August. We had been using Uber/Llyft with no problem. Unbelievably when we really needed it to get to the wedding there were none available. I asked a fellow who looked like he was from Tauranga that I'd pay him to take us to the wedding. He said he would be couldn't because he was making deliveries. I was trying to figure out another way to get to the wedding to no avail. The fellow, Duncan, came up a minute later and said the lady who owns Deckchair would give us a ride. She came out and saw my wife in tears and ran back inside to get her some tissues and then we were underway. We got to the wedding on time thanks to her kindness and Duncan's effort. It's the first time I've been to NZ and found it to be wonderful in every way. Again thank you for helping us out and we'll be sure to patronize you cafe!

I wasn't a huge fan of the 'Fish of the day'. It was quite bland. Also, they forgot our 3x juices and we waited for a long time. By the time we finished our meal, I couldn't wait anymore. Luckily I followed up because they lost the paper order. Although they were somewhat apologetic, I felt our table just felt very forgotten. No one checked up on us or asked if we needes anything else when our meal was delivered. Our number was clearly displayed showing that we were still waiting for food. When we did get our juices, they were pretty good!

Hi, I'm Coeliac with medic-alert bracelet, I have a special card that you can buy from "Goodness me Its Gluten Free" and it will be kept with your meal and returned to you with the meal, on the flip side it allows you to rate the food business you are eating at you then leave it with the empty plates or hand it to the staff. My experience with DeckChair was really fantastic and even the staff were very impressed with the card, I'll certainly be going back there to dine. well done DeckChair and your staff.
