S.Friendly local spot serving a generous plate of scrambled eggs. The house made bread is great - healthy, wholesome seeds and nuts with a crispy toasted crust. The side of greens was fresh and full of flavour, and the eggs were creamy. Coffee was lighter than my preferred dark roast, but this would be to do with their beans. I look forward to returning.
A.The only vegan cafe that you can actually eat at! Thank you for accepting passports and keeping us safe! I had the waffles last week, absolutely to die for! Can't wait to come back!

A.This is a beautiful cafe with a great location. Close to the beach. With an area out the back where you can sit and have your dog. I’ve rated it a 4 because 1. serving sizes are small. Avocado toast was one piece of bread @ $19. They push organics heavily but the milk is not organic So I wonder what else isn’t. 2. The toilet and the back area isn’t that nice or clean . Lovely staff good people.

A.George Cafe has beautiful food, plenty of choice both savoury and sweet. Plus vegetarian. Lots of people chatting while I grabbed a takeout coffee. Easy parking outside too.

C.We visited this place this morning for a little treat after Bay Dreams. The food was great, and the staff were all nice and friendly, but the food is definitely overpriced for what it is. On top of that, because we went on a public holiday there was a 15% surcharge, and the way this was calculated was a bit misleading. Instead of the total bill being added and then the percentage added, each item was marked up by 15%, and then rounded up (sometimes up to $1.5 more). We brought this to the attention of the staff, who again, were very polite, but just reiterated that the sum of the bill was accurate. Which it was, but the price of each item wasn’t. Left a sour taste on an otherwise pleasant meal.
R.I enjoyed their muesli, and will recommend it to family and friends.
H.Amazing cafe! I absolutely recommend it to visitors or locals! The staff is so attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The food is outstanding, and it's wonderful that they offer such delicious plant-based options! The location is beautiful, and every aspect of the cafe is warm, friendly, and amazing! Great coffee, but also a great place to grab a bite anytime of the day. Love their desserts!!
D.If you like your coffee strong like I do, I can not recommend the one here. Quite watery and an extra dollar for soy milk is also on the 'spenier side of coffee culture. Staff is friendly and atmosphere is cute though.
Edit: From 2 to 4 stars. Went back and coffee was decent. Must have been a hick up. Always give another chance.

J.Lovely coffee and food. Barista was friendly and smiley. Good person to greet you on the way in. Manager seemed unfriendly and came across bossy and condescending. Being kind to your staff and customers goes a long way ;)
E.It was really busy but the line moved quickly and their wasn't too long of a wait for coffee considering. I also got a chocolate pastry that was probably the best thing I've eaten all year!
N.Whenever I leave Wellington I get nervous about finding good coffee and good vegan food. Here I've found both! Staying down the road all week for hols so I imagine I'll be frequenting most days. Bravo folks!
S.To my experience it's probably one of the best cafe in NZ. Vegan & Pet friendly with an emphasis on reducing waste, they have their own garden for veggies they use in the cafe. Backdoor area but the best thing about this cafe is cabinet food. Changes everyday with some permanent items... Try not to go there otherwise you will get addicted to their food. (A little hint: Stay away from their Tahini Cookie)

M.Outstanding oat flat white. (Vegan) Mushrooms and feta on toast tasted amazing, but adding feta to the description was not valid. Two x small fingernail sized spots. Delicious, but the price point was wrong for what it was ($15.50). It was a $12 meal.
The sourdough was good, but a serrated knife to cut it would make the eating more enjoyable.

S.One word AMAZING!!! We came in for a special occasion on the weekend and the food was sooo tasty. Gotta be the best vegan food in town. The Tiramisu was to die for. Can't wait to come back and have another feed. My new favourite spot and a huge selection of vegan desserts. Staff were lovely too :)
C.I have been coming to George Cafe every day to work on my school project while I am here visiting family. The staff is great and the food is fantastic as well. I'm not a vegetarian, but everything was so wonderful, I might just consider making the switch.
S.I go to George a bit, I do love the food there, it's always delicious and I love how almost everything is plant based.
But my last visit was disappointing. Bought a fluffy for my daughter for $1 (which is fine) but then because I asked for almond milk they charged an extra 50c - what you pay if you buy a full sized almond milk coffee. I know it's only 50c but it's not about the money, it's the principal. The fluffy would have had 1 tablespoon of milk max. They definitely shouldn't be charging more for non-dairy milk in a fluffy. It's put me off going back there based on that.
It'd also be great if they had the cabinet food priced so you could see exactly how much things are instead of wasting time asking when there's a huge queue behind you. Not everyone has $30 to blow on a cake, coffee and sandwich and because everything is expensive I'm always careful about how much I spend.
I do love what they're doing though with all their plant based goodies, growing their own veges and thinking of the environment etc.
S.Best coffee i have found in Tauranga / Bayfair / the mt./ Papamoa, and I’ve tried them all. Also for 7 years in London I went to the same place and they didn’t know my order. After just a week or two of popping in here on the way to work & they know my order and always make it with a smile. Can’t speak highly enough of the staff or the produce. Thanks very much for getting my days off on the right track
A.Awesome wee café close to Omanu beach. Staff are pleasant with a smile to greet customers. There is a great range of food to chose from - decadent & nourishing.

T.I am a creature of habit and love my Long Black with cold milk... I stopped off at George as I had passed it many times and heard good things about it, so had to be a coffee at least. Just the way I wanted and a blueberry and white choc muffin too... good cafe menu lots of healthy looking yummy food in the cabinet and a good buzz in the cafe ... I won't be driving past without stopping ... waistline permitting..
E.If you are wondering where your staff have disappeared to, they're all sitting at this cafe with laptops. That or the patrons are all unemployed or ridiculously wealthy or something mysterious. Always packed, which I find odd because you can't just get an eggs bene. You're options are rabbit food. Coffee is good tho. Expensive, but good. I would say its the good coffee and successful grafting of a ponsonby cafe atmosphere into a characteristically awkward space, that make this place popular. If you want pretentious with a coffee served by a trendy nose ring and tat clad chick, this is your go to.
A.Was too hungry and forgot a photo but really good vegan and vegetarian options. Tasty “sausage” roll and the Cuban Sammie was my favourite. Definitely recommend!

R.George has lovely staff, the coffee is good and they have small but broad range of food options including vegan, gluten-free etc. The Hawaiian chocolate cakes with coconut cream icing are divine!
A.Quirky cafe around the corner from Omanu surf club. My first thoughts were " this is for vegies only." However my fried eggs on toast with a side of Bacon were perfect. Accompanied by a perfect cup of coffee.
Give it a try, but don't stay too long because I may want your seat.
K.Small and welcoming. Covered outdoor seating area out the back plus footpath tables. Close to Omanu Beach. Menu plus cabinet choice. Delicious fresh muffins.
D.A cute little get away, for a not so pleasant day zip into this wee cafe....kill a half hour in peaceful atmosphere.

M.came here for breakfast this morning the coffee was good however, when my meal arrived it was full of onion which I am allergic to, the menu did not state it had onion in it, I mentioned to one of the staff members the situation and said that they should write onion into the menu so that people know, she did not even seem concerned or offer an apology, obviously I could not eat it, waste of $20 don't think I will be going back again nor will I recommend this place to anyone
