Fab food, so delish and consistent + friendly service even when busy. Also want to give a shout out to the FOH staff who we saw dealing with some very difficult unvaxed customers, its bloody hard on the staff implementing these rules, be kind to them.

Tay Street Beach Cafe' is always a great stop. Even the days you need to queue because it's so darn popular. The coffee, the icecreams, the food, it's all just as wonderful as the beautiful beach straight across the road. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. Love this place. Highly recommended.

Lovely location and very friendly service. Our breakfasts were delicious but we surprised to only got one piece of toast each with our two eggs and bacon which wasn't enough. Otherwise we really enjoyed our food and drinks.

The food was good and the location is amazing. The food and coffees came very quickly and this was appreciated. The staff were very very friendly, one particular staff member was very happy to chat away and his travel this made for interesting conversation. Good luck to his endeavours in Australia.

Their decaff soy flatwhite is yummy. Very popular so a bit crowded; however, it's just across the road from the beach so easy to turn it into a picnic..and away from the main Mt congestion, so pretty easy to get a park. Enjoy.

After a lovely walk along the parade, enviously examining the multi-million dollar dwellings, we had built up a healthy appetite. Our destination was pre-determined as the small menu looked fantastic - and it totally lived up to expectations. Lovely fresh ingredients and flavours. The chili scramble was a delicious experience but I’d recommend an additional side as the portions aren’t generous and any type of scrambled eggs can be rather one-note. I went for a side of avocado. The asparagus were sweet and moreish according to my partner, who claimed it to be the best brunch she’d ever had!

Busy place. It's always fill when we drive passed. Looked a bit quiet for a change, so we took our chance to stop and see what the fuss is all about at this cafe. Fresh food and nice friendly staff...that's why. Great view when you cross the road to the gorgeous beach.

Pretty good food in a tucked away cafe at the other end of the Mount Manganui strip. We came with a big group and they could only accommodate us with a reservation. All food was really good. Highlights were calamari salad, lamb risotto and fish & chips. The pork hock ramen had a nice broth but meat and noodles were not your standard Japanese ramen, but a twist on it. Service was friendly and attentive and decor was modern and clean. Bookings needed and I'll definitely come back again.

Glorious breakfast spot in a lovely location. Great for dogs. The dogs can go for a run on the popular dog friendly beach accross the road, then enjoy being pampered by the friendly staff who provide them with welcoming water and lots of loving Pat's and hugs! I had a great eggs benidict, and the coffee is top notch.

Nice little Cafe. Some very tasty dishes for breakfast or lunch. Good selection of drinks and smoothies. All healthy and well thought out. Comfortable environment and friendly team. They have takeaways too if you don't want to chill out in the sun and let the day slide by.

Always amazing food, I regularly get any egg dish, cabinet food is AMAZING especially the slices. Tay st beach Cafe is my go to spot for brekkie or brunch. Sometimes there is a wee bit of a wait but its always worth it. Can get very busy so sometimes it takes a while for a waitress to come take your order but I'm not in a rush so it doesn't bother me.

We ate here several times over the last few days. Yesterday the lunch was outstanding! My wife raved about the duck salad. Breakfast this morning was good but I must say we were very very very... did I mention very DISAPPOINTED!! I simply wanted scrambled eggs rather that fried on the Mexican eggs and the kitchen was UNWILLING to accommodate. The waitress pointing out a very small clause that they would not change the menus options. She told me that management had a meeting with an the staff emphasize this earlier in the week. 🤯 I almost never give a bad review by feel compelled to let the management know that of the hundreds of cafes and resteraunts we have eaten at I have never never never did I mention never had so much INFLEXIBILITY!!! There were probably a 3/4 full maybe dozen tables of people. There are plenty of other cafes who will go out of there way to accommodate you of you have special requests not that my request was that special. 🤔

As a tourist to the area a friend highly recommended Tay Street Cafe for brunch. I found the coffee excellent and the brunch menu extensive and delicious. Staff were friendly and premises clean. My friend had egg bernaise with smoked salmon..the salmon was a wedge not shred..wow!

After a morning of exercise we were both thinking a nice salad but other than a kitchen salad side order we ended up with Eggs Bene & Chilli Scrambled Eggs both with bacon though very nice.

It is hard to fault a well presented dish, even harder to fault tasty food. We stopped by at lunch time for a bite to eat. Nothing to rave about or fault on the service. Staff we as amiable as you would expect from a cafe. They didn't go out of their way to be exceptional. Leaving the food and the atmosphere of the location to do that. The meals are on the large side. Lending to better value for money. It is a cafe with few nearby competition.

Had a great time with family at this cafe. I have family that live not far and tradition now to meet here. Some of us grab coffee or tea and stroll the beach. Also try peppermint tea there with a caramel double choc walnut slice in the morn stroll across the beach and indulge in a great view and a slice of Paradise and a great brew. But that's just me :)

A friend and I popped in here for a quick lunch. We knew they served consistently good breakfasts but this was our first lunch. As we were peckish but not hungry we shared a plate of battered fish. The helping was generous and the fish really tasty, the batter was exceptional and the service pleasant. The range of fruit and vegetable juices was also pleasing. It is disappointing though, in this day and age of awareness about marine pollution, to still be served a plastic straw. On this day it was somewhat windy and to add insult to injury, the offending plastic straws were blowing out of the drink bottles as the waitress was serving . We saw three separate trays of food and drink lose their straws.

Located right across the beach. You dont have an ocean view from inside the cafe, but its compensated by its proximity. The food in general is delicious, I had the pork and it was tender and perfectly cooked. Would definitely recommend trying it.

Bright lights - no ambience at all (even asked if we could light the candles etc, but waitress never actioned). The Edamame was delicious, however. Always happy with breakfast here, but based on tonights experience won't be returning for dinner

Overpriced coffee, conspicuously good looking wait staff who I'm sure were hired for their personalities, and people with small dogs in sweaters. Redeeming features: coffee is good. You can see tay st surf break if you stand on the table. If it's too busy there's a guy selling even better coffee right next door. Whatever you do, don't take a dog there that's larger than a small cat. The octagerian pretending to be 40 will be noticeably put out that your mongrel is most definitely scaring her ferret looking shitzu.. I witnessed this BTW. I have no dog
