My favourite coffee now in the city. Love the dog water bowls outside. The new owners have added incredible food options to an already incredible menu. The cabinet options are varied to suit all dietary needs. The amazing baristas are quick and efficient with takeaway orders. All staff are full of smiles when you enter. Nice warm greetings all around. Love the decor especially the brand new chandelier. My new favourite local hangout.

Classic and tasty food coupled with friendly service makes this cafe a reliable place to have a weekend brunch. Suitable for anyone. Taking the dog out for a stroll? Sit outside and let enjoy the sun while your fluffy friend licks away at one of their water bowls. Catch up with friends? Grab a seat and people watch on the high chairs. First date? Relax those nerves and enjoy the conversation with one of the intimate tables near the counter. A suitable seat for any occasion!

I used to love coming here! My favourite spot in Napier - but since the change of owners/new wait staff it’s not a great experience anymore, the food is still amazing but that’s all. The service has dropped significantly- heaps of wait staff but they stand around and talk at the counter. They take your drink order at the table but then you have to go to the counter to order food after 15 minutes of no more table service *we were the only couple in the cafe at the time* No water so we served ourselves, most of the old wait staff have gone and have been replaced by a younger team *which is great* but they don’t really care about customer service. It was off to a great start with the change of owners but has gone down hill quickly in the last few weeks. Hopefully just teething issues :) If you want good food then head to Tennyson! But if you want good food and good service head somewhere else. Good luck guys!

Very nice Art Deco cafe. French menu and different options for breakfasts. Friendly staff - very very busy as public holiday in Napier and they were rushed off their feet. But still accomodating and friendly. Our food was great and coffee some of the best we had had in Napier.

The breakfast was super! The staff were so lovely! Strongly recommend!

Just read an article about your issues with immigration ministry. Trust they will be more flexible and acconating once you reapply. Will call in for the first time with my grand children over the school holidays in April. Hopefully the Stuff article today will give you a boost. Best of luck!!

some banging eggs benedict with bacon and the owner was so happy to see us on bikes which was sweet. didn't seem to like being asked about the orange juice situation but apart from that was very lovely. outside seating area was lovely and comfortable.

Very nice place and good decor inside. I sat outside. Service was nice with attentive attendants. Had their big breakfast as they were kind enough to remove the bacon and replace with sausage. 24$ approx. Similiar to prices everywhere but quantity was less. Menu mentioned portabellow mushroom but normal Mushrooms came out.. I also ordered a salmon side 7$ (smoked). Small for the quantity. This tasted just like supermarkets one do. And large FW 5.50$. Ok (have had better coffees) I also took a lemon cake 6$ and an Madeline 1.50$ Overall definitely worth a visit.

Lovely place for a tasty morning breakfast or brunch. The service was outstanding and the choices were varied and interesting. The mince on toast and granola were both well balanced and filling. The coffee was some of the best that I have had in some time.

Came here for breakfast last week and had eggs Benedict. It was nice but did lack in seasoning which is unfortunate. I also opted to change the toast for hash browns, which were more potato fritters than hash browns (but still good). The sauce was quite average tasting, like it needed something to bring it to life. The service was very good though and the dining areas were clean and tidy.

Had the black pudding with beetroot served on bread with goats cheese spread. Amazing combination of flavours! Friendly staff with great service.

Fantastic food and service here today. Interesting dishes for sit-down or cafe-style food. Everything is freshly prepared and cooked in-house. Well thought out wine selection too. Nice outdoor terrace when the sun is out, a la francaise. Highly recommended for a great local spot.

Always impeccable service and beautiful food, Cafe Tennyson is a treat all around. We are very lucky to have them here in Napier.

Great coffee, they have all your classics but also a few coffee drinks like chai latté or vienna you don't find in a small café that often. Good selection of your typical café food which is delicious. Cakes are nice but if that's your thing you could find better in Napier. Staff is realy nice too!

A super classy makeover recently. I couldn't quite decide if the makeover had made the place lose their funky factor. Name change indicates that the quirky factor had also been dropped. But the food and coffee are still fantastic.

Very much enjoyed the waffles and bacon. They also do great gluten free cakes.

Dropped by for a quick breakfast fix, and was welcomed by their warming staff! There’s 2 levels, so you could choose where you wanna sit depending on the availability. Grabbed 2 different Scones, Cheese & Dates. Preferred the Dates Scones as it less dry. None the less it wasn’t too pricey, about $3.10 each. Order another set of Flat White and Yellow Curried Chicken w/ Rice & Mango Chutney (comes along with a small side of greens) which was pretty well flavoured. If given the opportunity, would love to try out the other dishes on their menu!

Awesome quick service with simple well executed food on New Years day, I saw happiness when peering into the Kitchen, which j thought was a nice tell of a wonderful ambiance. Merci Becoup

Lovely restaurant. The first time I've had a lemon meringue tart that exceeded expectations. It was perfectly tart, just how I like it. The lamb and risotto were also delicious.

We'd seen an article in the paper and then been to town soon after. The owner has been having problems over immigration. We wish the café well in the struggle.

We had dinner there last night for Bastille Day. The food was wonderful - a set menu of 6 courses. The highlights were the beef (perfectly cooked), the authentic French onion soup and the tastiest cheese. The only downside was that we couldn't eat the last course, we were so full, but we took it home with us. Thank you for a lovely meal!

Been in Napier since Thursday been here every day, had a fantastic chowder first day great coffee, cheese scone next day and this morning a lovely Eggs Benedict with home made hollandaise was delicious only have this dish when home made and it was one of the best I have had. Service was outstanding and also very friendly, thank you of course we will be back.

Service is wonderful. Had the Chestnut, Apple and Celeriac soup for dinner - wonderful! Best Croque Monsieur in town. Staff always seem happy, which speaks positively of management.

Our whole team felt the quality of the food was better than the place we had breakfast at the day before. The two food tech teachers were very complimentary of the Eggs Benedict they had. The coffees were superb and the French owner was really pleasant and we felt really at home. Sorry, l forgot to take pictures.

Superb coffee (mocha chino with "huge" mini chocolate fish on the side). Food is delicious and wholesome (mostly... 😊). Free WiFi available from city services very close to cafe. Plenty of options for a quick visit or a longer more relaxed stay. Still a very "chillin" place for a quick coffee and a hot cross bun. You must sign the petition to keep the owners here in NZ after they got the dirty end of the deal with the Covid lockdowns.

Great food and coffee. Try the hash browns with eggs Benedict, their flavour is just amazing, not big fat and greasy! Wish I could figure out the flavour to recreate!

Good, friendly, attentive service. Great coffee (it was hot - yay!) and food. Nice atmosphere - not sterile, chic feeling like some cafes. But not the place you would snug up with a book if you're after that vibe (which is not a bad thing). Not overly obtrusive, loud background music (yay), where you can actually hear and talk with other people in your group rather than scrolling through your phones (shock horror). Nice place

In a city of tourist traps I feel like this was the only authentic place I visited in Napier. It’s the place to stop for coffee and a snack. And art. And a break.

Great cafe right in the city centre of Napier. I have been most impressed with the efforts these guys put into the renovation of the premises - clean, nice & refined-looking style. Food is mostly sourced from local producers and there is a strong attention to what's in the plate - quality is definitely favoured which was confirmed by Chef Sophie. Service is excellent - welcoming and friendly even with kids. I would highly recommend the experience.

Best hot chocolate I’ve ever had and has to be the best in Napier! :D my partner loves the coffee too and the lamb sausage roll is beautiful. Staff are friendly, lovely spot for food and drinks! Recently left Napier and will definitely miss the hot chocolates!

New Years Day and the place was humming. Surroundings very refreshing and relaxed. 3 of us had 2 big breakfasts and 1 small. The food was organic. I liked the homemade hash brown. 2 coffees and English Breakfast tea completed our visit. A surcharge day so totalled 90 bucks. Worth it as food cooked and presented beautifully. Service excellent. Will return.

I had an iced mocha and a chicken and cranberry brioche, both were delicious. Friendly staff, prompt service. Lovely location though parking a bit of a challenge if busy - not a problem if you're OK with a short walk. And it's definitely worth it!

Superb service, actually probably the best I’ve ever had at a cafe. Amazing eggs bene, mince on toast & coffee delivered super quick and in a relaxed manner so never felt like we were being rushed. Went above & beyond, bought the eftpos machine after so we could bypass the till then even opening door for us on departure. 110% be coming back here!

Had cakes and a cappuccino for our table. I asked for sugar to go with my hot drink and was told "You do not need sugar". I did get a bowl of sugar but the rude comment spoiled the Coffee and I didn't drink it.

Busy, but good. Hipstery, similar vibe to Seattle or Portland. Good coffee, albeit a little on the bitter side. Couple Gluten free case items, which I had a tasty slice of banana bread. Their lunch menu looked really good, tho. Next time I'm in town.

Loved this place. Located in the bustling city centre of Napier, this is a perfect spot for a decent lunch and a nice coffee. Staff were extremely helpful and detailed in the customer service area, and the food delivery and presentation was great. Wish I took a photo of the meal! Tasty and delicious. Seating was in the shade, and it was a beautiful day. All in all, I highly recommend!

Amazing place, would definitely say 'must visit'. I was told to go here to get the best coffee of Napier, and I was not disappointed one bit. Loved the decor with beautiful paintings (up for sale if you are interested). Would definitely revisit to try more of their menus.

Nice food but for what you get it is overpriced and under portioned. Have eaten at other places where I paid under half of what I paid here but got double what they put on the plate at Tennyson Bistro. Would recommend it if you have money to spare and don't mind getting less for the high amount they charge. Slightly disappointed.

Lovely coffees, with their own beautiful chocolate in the mocha, and beautiful fresh bread for eggs on toast (although the crusts were hard to cut through), and their own hash browns. Overall a great breakfast at good value

Great food and lovely coffee - a great place and love the name(s) with the word-play! Was impressed with the quick service, brought water out straight away, which was perfect on such a hot day! Then coffee and food came out very shortly after, which was surprising considering how busy they were.

We went in on new years day for breakfast and it was absolutely packed out! We had eggs benedict and waffles. Eggs Benedict: we switched out toast with their house hasbrowns. They were more like fritters and i liked the added crunchiness. Hollandaise sauce was not as creamy as you'd get elsewhere but this made the dish so much easier to eat. I absolutely inhaled it and didnt get the post benedict coma that normally follows it. 10/10 Waffles: it was a lot more on the soggier side with less crisp. Could've done with a few seconds more on the pan. Berry coulis was a little too sour with the added orange. Overall it was a strong 5/10, creeping towards 6/10. Coffee: cant forget about this! Had iced americano and a mocha. They were strong and enjoyable. I would most definitely recommend stopping by

They were so lovely here!! Made us a free drink because he overhead that we had accidentally ordered the wrong one. Coffees came out super quick, delicious food and great staff.

One of the best cafes in Napier.

We sat down for a quick snack and a drink and were very happy havinh chosen this place. Very friendly stuff, nice place, good food. We had a smoothie and some salad and were both satisfied. We probly won;t be back soonish, but that's because we live on the other dis of the globe! ;-)

We had an excellent lunch today reasonably priced as well. The staff were super friendly especially with our little baby. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Helpful, friendly staff. You can have your own concoction for a juice drink. Had a banana berry muffin, freshly made, yum. Friend had ginger crunch, too crumbly.

We were on on a warm day after a cold spell and on a stat holiday. It was pretty packed. We ended up in the upstairs loft area. While the kids were enthralled by the overhead view and the stack of children's books, the space clearly lacks ventilation. We tried to find another table, but everything else was occupied. The food was pretty good and arrived quickly, given the demand. The highlight was probably the aioli. The kids had chips with everything but didn't touch the aioli, so the adults had to tend to that...

The sauce of the eggs Benedict is a bit lack of flavor. And the coffee tastes flat. But people and the shop are really nice.

OK. A little overrated, but in a good location, and one of the better options in Napier City. Decent food selection. Good outdoor seating options for people watching on the street if you're that way inclined.

Enjoyed our lunch here today, ordered an iced mocha and fries. One of the best iced mochas we've had recently, delicious chocolate sauce on top, with a paper straw. Generous serving of fries. Although we were warned there would be a wait, everything came pretty quickly.

Enjoyed my crumbed chicken with avocado salad here and loved the fruit smoothie. Worth a visit for afternoon tea or lunch

Best cup of tea in Napier! I highly recommend the peppermint and kawakawa green tea which comes in a stylish glass pot. The locally made plates are lovely too.

Ujazi is a lively little café or restaurant that is nearly always filled with customers. Ujazi has amazing food, including their fries that are simply the best in town. Ujazi has a warm and cosy interior and is visually inviting. Staff are also very helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a visit to this amazing eatery. Love the use of paper straws

Ujazi has been there for a few years now. With consistently good coffee and cafe style food,you can see why it's outlasted a few others. The aioli is incredible.

Right in the heart of Napier city 1 street back from the promenade. This is a welcoming café with ample seating outside to enjoy the brilliant Hawkes Bay weather and friendly people walking by. News papers inside to idle away an hour or two sampling wonderful food and coffee, tea and specialty drinks. On entry you are greeted by a cabinet of lovely food from gourmet sandwiches to salads and delicious cakes and treats. Coffee made by a true barrista and friendly staff. As café go this should not be missed.

Best place to go in Napier if you want to sit outside in the sunshine and have a quick coffee and a slice. Service is quick and attentive and they bring water to every table, which a lot of cafes in Napier don't do. The coffee is always nice and strong and the sweet treats are really cheap too!!! One of the funkier, artsy-vibe cafes in town and always an interesting place to visit!
