A beautiful day cafe and surrounds areas very busy. Enjoyed well presented toasted sandwich with coffee. Very yummy . Staff very busy but service excellent.

Had lunch today, a return to this cafe as we camp in Nelson every year, the owner remembers my husband. We always have super meals here and the best Iced Choc. Always good to visit. Bill and Pam

The location is perfect, close to the beach and there's a playground for children. I love their home-made chai latte and the glutenfree and vegetarian/vegan options. It's a pity they have white plastic seats that take away the natural vibe of the environment. The other chairs aren't comfy due to leaning too far back. Take a cushion with you if you prefer to sit up straight, like me. The high prices for meals don't align with the look & feel of the café incl. self-service cutlery. I would expect a more beach & dunes styled café, both indoors and outdoors. The last time I ordered a latte but it actually was a cappuccino, a thick layer of foam... so that was a disappointing coffee experience for the first time. Staff is always very friendly.

Attractive place for a cafe, right on the beach, with a childrens playground, water bowls for your pooch and lovely food for you. Lovely GF options and nice to have a choice of sugar-free drinks too!

What a great spot ! Outside table in the Sun watching the kids playing happily in the playground, and also watching Beach Volleyball Games behind the Playground Wall. Great Safe Playground for Younger Kids . Flat White Coffee's and Mugs of Hot Chocolate with a Chocolate drizzle 😍 plus Marshmallows. Fantastic Friendly Service. Seagulls are annoying though . Don't leave food unattended on your table 😂😂 it causes a frenzy 😂

Food was average and we ordered our drinks at the same time but they made other customers drinks before finishing our table. Wasn't busy so could only be put down to laziness of not wanting to rinse milk jugs to accommodate our different milks. Had to run inside with our food as seagulls would swoop down and land on our plates as we were eating. Not going back in a hurry.

Fantastic place to take kids with a big menu to suit a fussy eater and a great playground within the cafe to keep them busy while you finish your coffee! Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely go again.

Food = great. Portion = enough for sharing. Could order 2 for 3 people. Excellent service from the staff. Sit outside table with a parasol on a day of sunshine. There is a playground right next to it. Great for a family with kids.

Beautiful location. Large menu to choose from and indoor outdoor dinning. Unfortunately has been closed the last three times I've tried to, once for a private function the others no reason. Very small takeaway milkshake, was in a coffee cup. Tasted wonderful though.

We love the Beach Cafe and always stop in when we go to Tahunanui Beach. Nice spot to stop and gave a coffee while strolling around the beautiful beach and surrounds. We love walking the dogs here. The cafe is getting a little tired but that's ok from our point of view. The coffee's good and it's nice to take a load off in this lovely spot.

Children's playground right outside the door and the beautiful Tahunanui beach is about e0 seconds easy flat walk away. Plenty of parking, Natureland is jus over the road. Indoor and alfresco dining, casual wear. Don't just think about it... go there.
