T.Great location, cheap coffee, great coffee, perfect post beach spot for a flat white. But, the sun doesn’t seem to shine on the staff - they’re the least cheery in Nelson; not interested in a ‘hows it going’ or exchanging a friendly smile.
Edit: I'm happy to say that the staff vibe has changed and now the staff are some of the friendliest in Nelson. Best spot for a coffee all round. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

J.Really good coffee. I have never had a cold, burnt or tasteless one here yet. Def the best on the road from Nelson yo Richmond. I have mine with either cookies, slab cake or great icecream to go with. They have an honesty system where you pay $20 for 6 coffees and mark it off in the book.

P.Friendly service, really good coffee at a cheap price. Yummy cookies and cake on the counter. If you buy their shortbread you’re helping a charity in Nepal. And they sell lots of great looking sorbet and gelato. They were happy for me to take my coffee and cake to sit at the tables next door as my friend was eating lunch there.

J.This place has good coffee in small standard cups. The cake offerred is delicious but you and anybody can "help yourself," as you are firmly told. There is no enquiry into the cleanliness of hands or implements handling this food. I had the food displayed and it was good.
The staff have an entrenched attitude as the manner of service and have a "take it or leave it" attitude. The gelato displayed is a very good quality but if you want to use it as the basis for a soda to mix, the staff are rather offhanded about being requested to do something easy, like serving it in a longer cup.
The atmosphere of the place is not too busy, and once you are served, relaxed. Excellent for a beachside cafe, but the staff are not that engaging, probably because they consider they have a captive market and don't have to put themselves out. Overall a good experience.

J.Raglan Roast has been one of our favourite coffee spots here in Nelson for the past 3 years. Due to their great coffee, and my personal favourite: a creamy iced mocha, friendly staff who provide great service and we love the chilled-out atmosphere; be it lounging on their comfortable couches inside or enjoying the sun out the front seating. Perfectly located opposite Tahunanui beach & park. Bring the kids over for gelato or a cold drink. Or get adventurous and hire out a board. Parking is undercover and out the back entrance.
J.I've had loads of lattes here before and they're supurb. Recently went back for a coffee and just as good as I remember, plus they have gelato now too, had some of that also and it was lovely.

N.It was right on the road and a small place. The coffee (flat white) was way more milky that normal. Was quite busy, a lot of local people I think. The girl at the till was unimpressed.

C.This is the 3rd (also Raglan and Wellington) Raglan Coffee Roastery i've been to (I don't know haw many NZ got) and everytime it's a blast! It has always been the cheapest but still BEST coffee in town and the location has also always been perfectly fitting and beautiful. Here you're sitting out in the sun close to the beach! Come here and spend some blissful hours and have a walk at the beach afterwards!
