A.Firstly, the staff here was just very lovely and friendly, took good care of their guests. The cafe has a lot of character, very rustic and basic chairs and tables with saddles on couches, little corner for paintings for sale and a large section displaying metal cut-out art for sale. However, the coffee wasn't great and food looked very unappetizing. Prices were ok and toilets open to traffic for 50¢ per use.
v.It's a little family owned Cafe with some really really good pies...
The insides of the cafe looks really interesting, giving it some character. They have many artwork up for sale too..
I definitely recommend the place
I.We stopped here on our way to Rotorua. As we were in the parking lot a man came outside and put the "Closed" sign out. We asked if we could still grab a cup of coffee and he said yes. They had a catering event to get to, which was why they were closing, but they still made us two delicious cups of coffee as well as heated up a spinach quiche (for me) and a steak pie (for my fiance). Such a cute little spot with great food and coffee and a lovely staff. I would definitely recommend stopping in!

G.Not much to look at, but get inside to experience some authentic kiwi hospitality. Great pies and pastries, muffins, ice creams... And they'll do your coffee to your exact specifications - and if you're not happy, they'll redo it for free until you are!

D.This was the first roadside cafe we stopped at in New Zealand on our trip. I'd give it 4 stars, but the bathrooms were quite nasty. The coffees were decent. The decor inside was funky. Its a good stop for a quick coffee, but not great if you need to use the bathrooms
R.The Black Beagle Cafe is amazing! I had a chicken burger so big I could hardly fit my mouth around it. Nicest burger I’ve had in a long time. And the lovely owners went out of their way to entertain my toddler so that I could actually eat my burger! Total godsends. Thank you! Will definitely be stopping in again!

S.Our stop off point between Auckland and Tauranga. The Eggs and Bacon are a must. Service is quick and friendly. The Toilets are clean but do not expect the Paris Hilton Hotel. Check out the autographed wall (Mr ZZ Top and other more local personalities ).

Wir haben hier einen Mittagsstopp eingelegt. Leider war die Küche nicht in Betrieb, weil es ein technisches Problem gab. Kaffee und Muffin waren in Ordnung. Der Besitzer war sehr freundlich und das Lokal ist angenehm eingerichtet. Kleines Detail: An der Wand hängen Fotos vom Besuch von ZZ Top.
