D.The cafe itself was nice and quirky but the food was soaked in oil to the point where I had to ring out my hashbrown, mushrooms and spinach. Unfortunate but the cafe itself was cool
C.We went to harbour street collective cafe because of the indoor playground and the food looked nice in the case.
We paid for the kids to play in the playground but were not told they needed socks. A staff member pointed this out later. As it was a warm day they were in sandals. You can purchase socks but luckily had some spare ones in the car. The kids liked the play area and it is hard to find good indoor play areas these days
We waited over half an hour for food to come. Our order was bumbled 3 times. They over sold some food and they were clearing a back log of orders. They had sold us something they couldn't give us. I went up to reorder and had to re-queue in a long line to order. I reordered something off the menu and the staff member said they would cover the difference if there was any. Another server said she didn't have the authority to do that. So I needed to choose something else. So re-queued again to reorder. The kitchen was closed as the chef was gone and a lot of the good case food gone by this stage (1pm). When the rest of the food came, the pies were burnt or soggy and one of them was the wrong flavour. Our cake also never arrived. I re-queued again to sort that. They did comp that since it was left off the order.
I really wanted to like the place but I spent most of our time there sorting out our bumbled order so couldn't really enjoy the experience. It also got really hot in the play area even though it wasn't that hot of a day. It was much cooler in the front part of the cafe. I didn't use the facilities but hubby said they were very clean.
T.We visited today. We had coffee, the cinnamon scroll and the cheese scone. Both were lovely. The staff were friendly, professional and the service was great. We noticed it was quieter than normal but put that down to the crazy times. We feel for businesses like this. We have witnessed such nastiness, rudeness and overall impatience and intolerance from customers. Have some compassion for small businesses just struggling to operate in less than ideal situations. They have rules to follow. They are trying their best. Be kind. Just be kind.

K.Friendly staff! They went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary needs. Kia ora! Impressive 4 yrs old+ playground for $7 per hour, so be prepared for that additional cost if bringing kids
A.Visited for breakfast. Typical egg Benedict with salmon n mushrooms cost 23$. Unfortunately it wasn’t even hot, just Luke warm even though the poached eggs, were completely cooked. Although I was impressed with Their salmon fillet rather than shaved pieces of salmon u get everywhere. Hollandaise sauces felt weird, didn’t have the tangy taste u would expect.
Flat white was nothing to write about. Very few places where u can actually feel the milk being properly frothed with steam. Felt more like hot milk as it does most of the places I have tried.
Service is a little shabby but I guess that’s because they have 15-18 year old serving and obviously making young people understand about customer service is very difficult. For example the person serving me dropped the plate to the side and left without saying anything. I was on the phone however still found that rude.
Overall a typical breakfast place. 3/5 for value. Nothin special.

R.The bacon butty was one of the most delicious things i’ve ever eaten - sadly the covered with 2 tonnes of pepper eggs werent, and maybe i got a coffee bean day i didnt like but found it bitter and not that enjoyable. That being said, nice service and friendly staff with pleasant surroundings
S.Cheesecake was somewhat not fresh, but other than that food was ok. Sitting area is very pleasant. But it closes at 18:00! Afterwards, you can head to Scotts which is open late.

T.Coffee was good but not enough crockery to make a second one!!! Bizarre if you ask me. A Vienna should not come in a shot glass. Tasty fudge and scones. Not in a hurry to go back unfortunately.

J.In their defense, it was Labour Day and they were busy so there was a bit of a wait for food (even items from the cabinet) and other tables who ordered after us (and similar food) got theirs before us.
Their go to excuse seemed to be that their kitchen is split with differing styles coming from each side (still wondered how they can't coordinate the tickets though?)
The food was solid cafe style food. Nothing I would consider amazing or plain. Just good.
Would eat there again as it was an overall good experience and the indoor playground out the back (like a small scale Chipmunks) kept our daughter entertained while we waited for our food to arrive.
R.Nice atmosphere but very very slow service. Took 10 mins to bring out the coffees and we were the only people there except for 1 other man. The cheese rolls then took about 15mins to come out.
We decided not to get another coffee as it would have taken too long.
Toilets are super clean and well maintained. Not super kid friendly as lots of trinkets and things to knock over.
E.Absolutely love this place!! The girls are all such cool people! Especially if you go often the will ask how everything's going! Had a 21st birthday breakfast here and they set up the tables so beautifully! Highly recommend coming here just to read a book with coffee in hand or have an event, amazing location, beautiful decor and beautiful people!

F.On a cold Oamaru day Harbour Street Collective Coffee offered a warm and welcome respite from from the elements. We noticed lots of people heading through to the play ground and everyone was enjoying a coffee or one of the delicious slices.
The acoustics are great, we were able to hold a conversation without being interrupted by other customers conversations. Great atmosphere food and service. Thanks.

E.Had vegan choc cake and baked cheese caramel cake for tea time. Vegan choc not sweet, I loved it, and good match with long black. Cheese caramel too sweet for me. Cafe itself is well decorated, they have normal tables and chairs, also some antique looks sofas chairs etc. There's small market selling some jams, a big playground areas in the middle, and a furniture shop at the back?
P.The food is very good and the place beautiful but that's it... I've been here three times (only because of those delicious cakes). The first time the waitress was more interested by writing on a bord that the cafe will closed earlier than the usual than taking my order. A colored woman was just before me... The waitress ask if I was with her (Im half black)... I wasn't even speaking to this woman or looking at her... I found this very awkward and inappropriate... The second time the place was clean not like the first time and everything went good (because nobody was at the cafe). The third time, both waitress was not very welcoming and my order took ages to come (I just order a coffee and a muffin). After that the coffee made me a little bit sick because the milk was to hot.
A.I stopped here for lunch with a group of friends as we were travelling down to Dunedin. It turned out to be a great choice, as the food and service was excellent. It's in the old historic sector of Oamaru, which is very interesting too. There was a good selection of really nice food, both mains and desserts.
J.Wedges were amazing, lady who served us was hilarious. Got a Latte and Americano which was average.

S.My friend and I stopped here for an early lunch a few days ago. The food was good, and the environment is appealing, but the service was disappointing. Staff were slow to bring our meal, and what should have been hot wasn't hot. There were other customers looking for tables to sit at, and several tables were empty but uncleared of dirty dishes. There seemed to be plenty of staff, but no one working very hard.

W.This is a really lovely cafe with a good selection of food, eclectic music and they do a great decaf flat white. Best of all they have a great kiddie area which allowed us to have our coffee whilst it was still hot!!
L.Nothing special. Overpriced for what is offered. Pancakes were fine, playground however is great for kids and has a real family atmosphere. If you're not with kids, I would recommend finding somewhere else.

A.It's more than just a cafe with the galleries upstairs, varity of possibilities for shopping gifts, the play ground in the back. I love this place. Good for families and kids.
T.Although the ambience here is fabulous the speed of service is terrible. Both times we visited, all 4 of us received all the drinks and food at totally different times. Really not ideal although the food looks great.

Ich habe mir hier den Schokokuchen gegönnt welcher sehr gut geschmeckt hat.
Zeitweise wirkten die Mitarbeiterinnen etwas gestresst obwohl das Café nicht voll gewesen ist.
Jedoch sind sie stets freundlich gewesen.
