Highly spoken of by locals a very popular place to buy pies. When I visited on a Sunday lunchtime there was one vegetarian pie left, and one vegetarian pie option in the range, just as well I wasn't visiting with a vegetarian friend. The pie was good and reasonably priced. The place was heaving and service was OK. Given this establishment is in a small town the cafe feels crowded and busy so it was difficult to get a good look at the cabinet before ordering. It would be great to expand non meat options for pies and consider vegan options. I didn't have any sweet items but they looked great. Meat eaters would definitely leave a 5 star review.

Drive past all the time, decided to stop for a coffee (which was delicious in its own right), but after reading the pie menu, I couldn’t resist but to try their flagship Sheffield Supreme pie, what a master piece! Loved the hunks of onion and the tender beef inside. 5 stars from me!

The pies were divine! The drinks were average, mango smoothie (chunks of ice wasn't so smooth, and not much flavour) and ice chocolate was more like a milkshake. But can't take anything away from those pies

Coffee was rubbish, I gave 3 stars because I'm sooner the person to go and get a coffee and maybe something to eat than go get something eat and a coffee, big believer in great coffee and if it's subpar it's a big let down. Being a bakery the cabinets were full of some amazing looking food very well presented. Low gluten options available, I do look forward to trying again one day to change the rating.

Always stock standard to a bakery to order 1 steak and chesse pie. Pastry was bit to flakey over cooked and the pie didnt hold it shape i like to take a bite with out filling slipping on the side. Filling was 2 out of 5 but the spicy Mexican 4 out 5. Averages my score solid 3 out of 5

Lovely coffee, had a steak and cheese pie that was beautifully made. Unfortunately a staff member appeared quite grumpy when I asked her to turn air conditioner down or off as myself, my husband and another customer were all freezing. Kind of ruined the visit a bit

Loved the decor. I had the Steak, Onion and Marmalade pie which was good and at $6 was at the upper end of what I would pay for that size pie. I had to clear the table of dirty dishes before we sat down to eat, which was a little disappointing as they weren't busy at that time. We did a special trip from Christchurch as an outing for lunch as it's a pleasant drive, but wouldn't do it again. Would stop again though if driving past.
