D.Loved the breakfast tortilla, big breakfast also looked nice and apparently the vegetarian and vegan stacks also good. Decent coffee. Great service, very friendly staff. Reasonable prices.
J.A rather unassuming cafe from the outside, two fat chefs has more space inside than you may think. The food here is generous and delicious. Sit down for breakfast, lunch or teas or take away food from their cabinet.
The local retired community has discovered this place, so you may find it difficult to get a seat at times. But if you can get in, you'll discover why they keep coming back.
L.Food was fantastic. Great quantity and quality. Served in a very timely matter by a super pleasant young male server.
Only disappointment was lack of drinks choice. Totally out of Lemon, lime and bitters both diet and plain. Diners with me weren't keen on sweet Foxton fizz and orange juice at $8 was pretty steep.
That said will definitely return when celebrating an occasion.
N.Yummiest food, nice atmosphere and great service. I had the corn fritters and highly recommend, make sure you have a big appetite!! Can't wait to visit again
S.Can there possibly be something as totally insane as "too much breakfast"? I never thought so. Until Wednesday morning. Three of us stopped at "Two Fat Chefs" (alarm bells should already be ringing) on the Marine Parade, Paraparaumu Beach for a birthday breakfast for the teenager. We arrived and were greeted by very friendly staff but no fat chefs so felt comfortable with our decision to stop in. BIG MISTAKE. I ordered the omelette with ham, onions, and tomato. No where on the menu did it say that I had to stipulate whether I wanted chicken eggs or ostrich eggs (plural). Seriously, the tomato was a steak tomato cut in half and hidden between the folder omelette out of sight. Yep, it was THAT big. Wifey had the bacon and banana on waffles. I say waffles but what would best describe them would be house bricks. The teenager who had never been before went with scrambled eggs on toast ... probably the best decision of the three of us. Seriously though, if you're hungry and want some awesome food made by a super friendly team, stop in and see the Two Fat Chefs, you won't be disappointed. But if you're on a diet then it might be best if you asked for the kids menu.

C.This Cafe is great, the atmosphere is simple and its largely a no frills kind of place. The menu is good, isn't over kill with dancy foods. Expect good harty meals from items you will know and expect.
My order of Big breakfast was perfect to fill you up. Not fancy, but hearty and plentiful. Approx $23.
Eggs Benedict was very generous with plenty of hollandaise source and a good size ham steak. No salmon option unfortunately. Approx $22
The fish cakes were excellent! The chef told us they add about 500g of freshly caught fish into one plate. They only make about 14 cakes a day. This was super fresh and tasty! Very nice. Not sure of the price.
Overall, great place but a tad on the expensive side so don't expect a cheap meal. That being said you get a good size for the price.

w.The omelette was superb, great size and the side salad had such a beautiful dressing. I commented on how great it was, and ended up walking out with 2 bottles that they make themselves and sell. Was very pleased that they had a refill option and was in glass bottles so good green option. It's a place that I arrived just to sample a new cafe and know that I left as a future regular. C.So happy we found this place! Lovely little cafe on the beachfront with super friendly and welcoming staff, great menu and excellent coffee! Nice to see several vegetarian options on the menu too. We shared the veggie burger and the salmon salad - both were massive and very tasty. Can't fault anything about our visit. We are looking forward to coming back next time we're in Paraparaumu :)
C.We just drove up the coast for a drive and popped into Two Fat Chefs for lunch. The food was scrummy, hot and plentiful. The coffee perfection. I highly recommend this place to others.

Returned recently and had a much improved experience. Staff were helpful, warm and friendly. Food was well presented and tasty and coffee was great too! Very happy to return another day

D.Great space. Friendly atmosphere. Ordered a Moroccan lamb salad and a chocolate milkshake. Although the meal was "nice" my taste buds were screaming "give me mint....and a dash more garlic"! It didn't shout maroccan to me. The milk shake was nice too but I wanted a spectacular thick chocolatey blend.
S.Excellent , in fact outstanding meals. Also bought four slices / cakes to share that looked yummy. They tasted even better than they looked , and they looked fabulous.

S.First time at this cafe today but not the, last! Very relaxed atmosphere, super friendly staff, nothing was too much bother. The food was fresh and delicious, I'm vegan-ish my husband a meat eater, and the chef made sure that our food was appropriate for our preferences. Can highly recommend Two Fat Chefs. Be back soon for those vanilla slices that just couldn't be fitted in today!

A.We had a fantastic brunch at Two Fat Chefs this morning. Delicious food, and great service, and quick turn around on the meals, even though it was really busy. Can't recommend enough.
M.Visited today 5th Oct. Food was very nice and the service was very quick. All our meals were well presented. The chiller cabinet offerings also looked great. I did wonder what the food would be like as I sat waiting for lunch as the windows were very dirty. It reminded me of a greasy spoon roadside cafe. I know its hard to keep windows clean at seaside locations due to salt spray etc but this dirt was on the inside of the glass. Keeping the place looking clean would enhance your patrons experience guys. Really great coffee.

L.The best cheeses scones ever, they are huge they give you three butter packs to cover the size of the scone. Hot out of the oven around 0830 -0900. Delicious. The Coffee is heavenly. The service is second to none. Our go to cafe every time we head up the coast.

D.Really good food. But not cheap. Be prepared to spend a minimum of $25 per person. Unless you're only having a sweet. Good service, pretty good coffee and the food is delicious. Definately the best pick of cafes on the Coast.

L.Great cafe with amazing food and passionate staff! Delicious breakfast and lunch options, plus yummy cabinet food. I highly recommend their plum crumble slice and Dutch vanilla slice. Their kitchen offerings are generous in size and really tasty. And all across the road from the beach! You'll need a stroll on the beach to walk off all those goodies after anyway!

M.You know when you get so hungry it’s hard to decide what you want, but you also want something good because you’d been holding out eating until you found something worth it haha. I lucked out and this was such a delicious place. Came in and got waffles topped with fresh fruit and fruit compote. Also had a flat white. The staff was so lovely and warm. I appreciated that they came to check in after I started eating. I can see the ocean while I enjoy my breakfast. A great spot!
S.I ordered Fat Chief Burger from the lunch manu. Super big and delicious burger. Recommended. Price is a little bit more expensive than average - $24.5 for a burger and chips combo. But it worth that.

M.Holy cow what a great little cafe! Breakfast was amazing. Kids had waffles and demolished them all. Hubby had the omelette which was huge and he couldn't finish it. It was a thing of beauty. I had scrambled eggs and bacon on gluten free toast. Delicious fluffy eggs and crispy bacon. This is a definite must on the Kapiti Coast. Thanks guys. 😊

C.Kapiti Coast has gained another little touch of class. Personally I think they should have named it, “Two Jolly Chefs”, to reflect the charismatic nature of the staff.
Quality food and the coffee was pretty good too. Couple of recommendations for what it’s worth:
1. Use DarkHorse coffee. Local source of quality KC coffee.
2. Rai Valley streaky bacon for the Big Breakfast.
Not complaining though. Brilliant Sunday breakfast!

A.We had the breakfast burrito and corn & zucchini waffles....so delicious! Nice laid back vibe with great service.
