Lovely coffee shop, fast and friendly staff. My flat white was great, enjoyed every sip of it. Newspapers available for customers in comfy couches next to the entrance. Seating outside is a must in a sunny day like today. Toilet was clean and in order. Seems to be quite popular, with plenty of parking and easy to find.

Close to our EV charging so stopped here for lunch. Limited food selection. Maybe next time things will be better after CoVid. Will things ever return to normal?

I love this cafe! It's such a peaceful atmosphere, lovely staff and really genuine food which is all made in-house. This time I had a Lamb, Rosemary and Red Wine pie and it was gorgeous. To round it out there is a huge dog friendly garden seating area. Well worth the drive from Hamilton.

I experienced friendly and happy staff, who certainly love life. The food was fresh and very tasty. We noticed folks in a table close by being served Belgium waffles!! Wow, the best I have ever seen. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place to experience waffles! Good parking for heaps of cars and a great stop for RV's. Keep up with the awesomeness ladies, we had a great experience on our visit.

What a lovely cafe to stop at! Coffee and iced chocolate were the best we have tasted and wedges with cheese and bacon took first place on our little game of rating them everywhere we go! Staff were very pleasant and friendly and it was perfect sitting at an outdoor table in the shade on what has been hottest day of the year. Would happily recommend as a great place to stop on your trip.

1st time to this Cafe, clean and tidy. I like to try scones whenever I can and their cheese scone was very tasty if a little burnt on the bottom, this did not detract from the taste however. Coffee was nice and hot. Will pop in again.

This has always been a great place for a coffee break from driving, very good selection of food, cakes, drinks etc. Clean and tidy with lovely friendly staff. The two loaves we each choose were really nice, warm with butter, perfect. Like most pkaces the flatwhite coffee's have too much froth but that can be forgiven as everything else was great.

How hard is it to put a decent pot of tea in front of a traveler or sprinkle cinnamon on the coffee as requested NOT cocoa powder? And we’re talking teabags. Cake was nice. But tea was way below average.

Used campsite only. Nice location opposite the Alexandra redoubt. I found the $6.50pp charge very reasonable and did not have to pay for any extras, but was intrigued to see they padlock the dump station! Was approached by an unfriendly person who lectured me on the checkout time without asking or checking if I'd paid for another night (I had).

Very clean Cafe that had a great mochaccino. The desserts were also a big highlight. What was nice to see within the cafe though was local artwork up for sale. It's always wonderful to see a small business supporting local artist within the area. Such a pleasure to have a great cafe here on our stop from our travels.

Good location and setting, and the local art is great as are the grounds. But the food, while OK is overpriced. Coffee is average. Worst of all is that the staff are poorly trained, not friendly, verging on surly. This means the place has no atmosphere. This is a owner/managerial issue. This place used to have a great vibe and locals used to visit regularly but until this place lifts it’s game it’ll miss out on local and regular customers as there are plenty of better places now in Pirongia and down the road in Whatawhata. The proof is these cafes are always busy and sadly Persimmon Cafe never is from what I can see.

Excellent cafe with a unique, interesting menu; my sweetcorn fritter stack was a tasty change to the usual burgers and wraps. We really appreciated the music down low and a quiet interior compared to many other places. The staff were professional yet genuine and the owner obviously really cares about the details The place is fully accessible with a full kids menu even and there is even an RV park out the back.

The location, food and staff are lovely. Dog friendly. Lots of grass trees and picnic tables. Also a very tidy looking RV park. Only niggle was they don't take things out of the cabinet straight away on ordering and the next few customers are being told "sorry that is already sold." Very frustrating!

I asked for fresh salad with a balsamic dressing(from the menu) had the choice of cajun chicken to add so i did. I got fresh salad with smoked chicken and a honey dressing and to much carrot! Husband had wedges with sour cream but would have been much better with melted cheese and bacon as a choice! Staff really lovely and friendly.
