I don't usually leave reviews, but the meal I enjoyed today definitely deserves one! The best fish and chips that I have ever had. Batter is flavorful and crispy, and the fish was so fresh! The chips; never had a potato like it before. Loved it so much, I stopped to thank the waitress and the cook! Definitely worth it, we will be back again! Bonuses! there's also Movenpick ice cream here, and the Air-conditioning was probably one of the best I've felt too!

Met a mate here for brunch, when passing through town, and was certainly not disappointed. His pancakes were delicious (the portion size was too much for him, poor lad, so I helped him out) and the chicken schnitzel was superbly cooked. The staff was friendly and I will definitely be popping in when next I pass through for a meal and some ice cream. Thanks a lot for a great time, team 😊

Stopped here on way home to Waitomo. Very nice Cafe very spacious with plenty of tables that dont appear crammed. Ample off road parking. Friendly staff, great fast service. Good food selection. Nice to have ice cream available too :-)

Beautiful cafe inside and setup. Lots of space to sit and park. We went for the Movenpick Ice cream which was yummy as always! Great family special on ice cream. 2 adult + 2 kiddie cones for $25. Great summer spot away from busy city setting.

Nice clean cafe in Pokeno, with friendly staff. We had the nachos and fries, both really nice thanks. The coffee was good, and the icecream even better. Keep up the good work!

Wife and I stopped in for breakfast while travelling through. What a lovely surprise. Cafe was clean and spacious with plenty of dining space. The staff was amazing and the food was just wonderful. Will be one of our main stops while travelling

Awesome having an ice cream shop and Cafe all in one. Lovely staff every time I've visited. The large windows are north facing so gets great sun which mixes well with the ideal layout. Will definitely keep on visiting when in Pokeno.

Didn't have iced Americano on the menu but happily made one for me. Spacious, clean and professional. Staff were friendly and approachable. Meal served was hot and delicious. I especially loved the fries! Super crisp and seasoned well. Looking fwd to visiting again and trying something else. Thank you.

Great stop for breakfast before our road trip. Loved the pancake and ice cream! Quick service and clean! Definitely would stop here again!

We landed here out of good fortune. Seven of us on a days motorcycle ride and a few pillion. Pokeno was our first stop for morning coffee. I was lead ride and turning into the carpark of a café just up the road, noticed the carpark surface was loose gravel, so I waved everyone on to park out on the road. They found a nice shady spot 100mtrs up the road and when we looked over the road saw Café Pink Sand, brand new not even on the map. We chose that option rather than walking 100mtrs back up the road in motorcycle gear on a hot day, glad we did. The staff were engaging, coffee and cake great, décor modern and bright not to mention new, air conditioned and their carpark is NOT gravel. Café Pink Sand is now on our Pokeno place to stop, see you guys again…. P.S. Now showing properly on Google maps.

Charming place. Pleasant ambience. Free WiFi (yay!!) Caring and helpful service. Tasty food and good hot coffee and also iced coffee. The venue appeared to have three names, which I found confusing. Yes, I'll be back.

A relative newcomer to Pokeno's dining choices. We didn't try the cafe, just the Movenpick Ice Cream Cafe within the same premises. Yummy as expected and reasonable price given the premium product. Friendly helpful staff. Only let down was that cleaning tables didn't seem to be a priority, would have given 5 stars but for that

We were excited to visit this cafe. We think it’s important to support local businesses and as the newest cafe in town we wanted to give it a shot. While they have a lot of good things going for them there are a few things they need to do in order to make the customer experience better, hence the four stars instead of five. The good things are that the food was good, the restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. Areas to improve are the service. They did get our order wrong. We added a side that was left off and they didn’t ask how we wanted our eggs. Not a problem if we wanted fried, but if we wanted scrambled or poached that would have been an issue. These are probably products of inexperience and I trust they’ll make improvements over time. We certainly will be back and would recommend others check them out.

Lovely new Cafe with enticing things on the menu, which is curated well. An airy spacious space that is good for groups. They were happy to box up our leftovers when we were unable to do justice to the meal, and the fruit juice offerings were great. It would be nice to see some greenery or plants brightening up the interior and the raised flooring around the counter area was a bit of a hazard for me as I am not steady on my feet.

Lovely clean and spacious cafe. Cabinet food looks good, menu food was large and tasty. Staff were friendly but not completely familiar with the menu yet. Ice creams are yum of course. Toilet is outside the cafe and a few doors down - clean and airy but no hand dryers yet.

Food is okay but not in line with the price which is on high end. Coffee is good and the staff needs to learn to smile with everyone customer (not specific color people). Place is almost empty even on weekends but might improve if they fix the above issues.

Absolutely delicious food and very reasonably priced. Can't wait to come again to try more on the menu and the ice cream! The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend trying Cafe Pink Sand out if you are ever in Pokeno or driving by.

Yay for Pokeno getting such a cool place!!! Over summer we have always detoured via pokeno for the ice creams but hardly ever ate actual food. We stopped over for a quik bite and was impressed by the place. Great feel, open and so relaxing. Friendly staff, good honest food and the attention to certain details... love the water bottles! . Staff are finding their feet atm but i guess thats to be expected. I can see this as a regular stop for us from now on, because food PLUS ice cream means it is going to be the new icon in pokeno. Love it, recommend it. Coffees were great too. Cant wait for the next stop over. All the best everyone at Cafe Pink Sand( way cool name too)

Amazing food - ordered the teppanyaki chicken and I would really recommend it! And of course movenpick ice cream! Great customer service and I really liked the spacious interior of the cafe. The air conditioning was amazing in the summer heat!

Don't understand why the have different menu at different times of the day. Not alot of main choices but plenty of side stuff. Coffee was too strong even at half strength and way to hot.

Love the concept. Food and service is excellent and I'm so glad to see movenpick in pokeno. Gorgeous interior for having a nice coffee on a sunny day. Must try the scones while you're there.

They have movenpick in pukeno. Which was really kool. Upcoming resturant, probably add more quick menus to the list and if its halal will be just great. Overall nice place for a stop over either going or coming in and out of Auckland.
