G.A popular destination and for good reason . They make great coffee. There's usually a decent range of delish food butbit takes a while to be delivered to your table.
S.It was hard to decide what to eat with a big menu and wide range of cabinet food. I had the Chicken Turkish pide toasted and shared wedges with the partner. Pide was great value for money.

s.Good ambience, variety in the menu, great coffee and even better service.
S.Stopped in just after lunchtime on a Tuesday. Looks like the cafe is going through refurbishment at present, still open and probably about 12 tables. There was about 75% patronage at 1:30pm. Good selection of food options, menu and in cabinet. We had coffees, bacon and cheese toastie and carrot and ginger slice. Staff courteous, friendly and welcoming. You can now pay by visa here too.
L.Typical nz cafe with a good range of cabinet food and board menu but this is special because they have excellent staff good coffee and the tables are next to an authentic Japanese garden and the pretty special nothing fuddy duddy about it Pataka museum. Three hours slid easily by today.
c.What an incredible experience. First time eating here. Overall the food was delicious. Serving time was fast. The prices very reasonable and the portion sizes were more generous that most cafes. I can't speak highly enough of the staff. There was a delay between my food and my mums so we got a free wine. I would give this café 6 out of 5 it was that good. And I'm usually quite conservative when it comes to reviews. Thanks again to Kaizen. One of the best cafes in the greater Wellington area that I've been to.
B.Food and customer service was nice.
Waffles was good - but not very pleasing to the eye; the fried egg on top of the fried chicken did not partner well with waffles, banana & pineapple on the same plate.
Nacos with mango salsa was delicious - but admittedly, mince would've been a nice option.
Unfortunately, the noisy construction made it a very unpleasant conversation around the table.

J.This cake has to be seen in the flesh to believe the size. It's not as heavy or dense as it looks and it was delish warmed up with cream. 10/10 would cake and coffee again
D.We have been coming here for many years, great food and good coffee, but a bit pricey. They have just in the last few weeks changed their seating system, and I won't be coming back. You now have to queue first for 10-15 minutes when busy, and only when you're about to order will you find out if you can actually get a seat. I sat at a table while my husband was ordering, only to be rudely removed as they gave priority to the people in the front of the queue. There is no info about this new 'system', and it simply doesn't work. And there is no need to be rude about it.
J.Continues to be a favorite. Love the range of options plus great coffee. In addition lovely vibe re a beautifull day with the deck view of the Japenese garden Vista.

J.I've been to Café Kaizen a couple of times now and the service has consistently been very good. Their coffee is great and the food is tasty. I have also been there when they were rather busy but the waiting time was not long at all. The staff are also very friendly, A+.
D.Understandably Kaizen Cafe is very popular. I had smoked chicken and chorizo stack - it was very delicious. Coffee suited me and the staff was friendly and helpful.
L.This cafe has the friendliest staff which are always fantastic in everything they do. The coffees, teas or infusions are always delicious and their wide variety of cakes, cookies and slices are incredibly tasty and to top it off, the service is incredible with the food and drinks never taking too long and always served with a smile. The views from the window look out at the Japanese garden which is beautiful year round but especially in the spring when everything is flowering in pinks and whites. As well as sweet goods there are also savory dishes for lunch, both cold and hot which provides a great place to drop by for a bite to eat when running errands in Porirua.

D.Haven't been here for a couple of years and must admit we went here as we couldn't get into another cafe close by. Very impressed. Good food and great coffee, prompt service with food and taking away plates. Staff were all very friendly. Definitely will be going back
V.Great customer service with a smile and laughs, lemon cake ( spongy soft and just the right amount of lemony favouring, wasn't needing a sip of water/milk afterward :D ) and chocolate brownie were delicious, enjoyed the mocha too (for a large, it seemed like a regular size) but other than that was a great cuppa, wanted more hence the mention of sizing :)
D.Visited for brekky and wasnt disappointed. Staff were very friendly and the food itself was remarkably satisfying. Gets a bit crowded when busy but overall still a good experience.
T.Loved it!! Service was the friendliest I've ever encountered. The meals were absolutely massive, and so yummy. Highly recommend the nachos, although I would share it between 2 or 3 next time.
H.A pleasant cafe with a good range of reasonably priced food and drinks. The food is tasty and not too pretentious. The cafe is located in the library building (Pataka) in Porirua. It is tidy and clean with friendly and professional staff. By far my favourite cafe in Porirua. Highly recommended!!

H.Food selection is pretty darn good and it was great to see a kitchen full of Maori women keeping the business pumping along. Place was busy, coffee was great, didn’t eat anything but it smelled delicious.
They don’t accept credit cards so if you’re a foreign traveller, as I was (kiwi living in Australia), you’ll need some cold hard cash. The Pak n Save across the toad has an ATM.
Pretty good to be able to check out some art while in the same building, also.
P.New menu on wall can't be read properly from the counter. Foods not as good, I don't know why they changed it. Used to be awesome.
F.There's no 4.5 so I'll go with 5. Cafe was really good, I had a pineapple and cheese panini with curly fries, which doesn't sound very fancy but was still really nice. Good lighting, friendly staff, I think the only issue is that there isn't enough seating so if it's really busy then it can be a little off putting.
B.Wonderful food been going since this lovely locally run restaurant opened. They have consistently been friendly, with great atmasphere and service... Love the rubarb shortbread 🥧 pie with yogurt. Themeals are yummy... Thanks

R.Nice, easy access from leisure (e.g. swimming pool, library, skate park), shopping (e.g. Pak'n'Save, Clearance Shed, Big Save Furniture, Harvey Norman). Gets noisy as the are no soft furnishings to absorb the sound and seating can be in short supply though you can sit along the indoor walkway song to the library. Nice and light space, especially with the sun out :-D

M.I have just purchased a 1/2 & 1/2 salad to takeaway: Tuna Pasta and a Cous Cous Salad. DEVINE!!!!!! and I am a fussy eater. Last Friday I had a Potato Salad / Tuna Salad - soooo delicious I went back today to get another serving. Alas they change their salads everyday and what an awesome alternative. Highly recommend
