Reviews of The Buzzstop Honey Centre & Cafe
L.
Gorgeous little spot! Came here a few months back for a friends birthday and did the soap and candle making workshop which was great fun - made even better with a tasty cheeseboard and wine! Also do great coffee here - thanks team!
N.
Best most asthetic place to have a Delicious Cheesecake
Or make a Organic Soy Candle
And Body Balm and some soaps.
Also the staff are funny and so kind.
💕🕯✳️🥳👌
W.
I always have a lovely time here, especially when it's a sunny day and you can make use of the outdoor seating. Definitely one of my favourite go-to places.
There is also a play area for kids.
They have good vegetarian & vegan options to choose from.
S.
Great coffee, they have selected a good coffee bean, very smooth and not too intense, had the honey latte. The cafe has a selection of food, cakes and icecream. Food is well priced but portion size is a bit smaller than other places. They sell a wide selection of honeys and unique spirits and liqueurs.
C.
Awesome memories for honey crafting, bee keeping and honey spinning!
Professional Nick gave me the knowledge of bee, these activities were fun!
Highly recommend these tour!!!
After tour,I ordered ice chocolate n Cheesecake, was sitting there to enjoy the lovely view to relax!
I would love to come back here again for sure:)
A.
This is by far the most educational, and hands on experience presented by Nick at BUZZSTOP.
Me and my husband who were visiting here from Auckland absolutely loved being hosted by you guys!!
Nick very kindly shared all the intrinsic details and responsibilities of being a beekeeper while being kind to the bees.
With the guidance of Nick we learned how real authentic honey is made and came home with a jar of our own raw honey each packed with all the nutrients!!
I highly recommend visiting this place and trying their honey which is produced in its purest form:)
FYI: I found their honey bottles in one of the shop in Queenstown and would recommend for people to try. GOOD LUCK, NICK 👍

We went to The Buzzstop cafe for our Christmas Carlson Gracie JiuJitsu End of Year Party. From the moment I got in contact with the place to the very end of the party, everything was super well organised and could not have been happier with another venue. The team was able to accommodate our big group and we had such a great evening having the whole venue to ourselves. The staff did phenomenal, everything happened according to plan and there were some last minute changes that the staff was able to help with and make it all work! We are so so pleased and very thankful for the experience at The Buzzstop! Can't wait to go back again for the honey & been experience! The space and environment was so lovely!!!
A.
Atmosphere is the best in frankton and Queenstown for both adults and kids. Prices have gone up a lot on the menu since last time we were here but deli food is great and delicious. Service is great
b.
What an amazing atmosphere, I had a pepper steak pie and an iced latte- both fab. And got to relax in the gorgeous garden.
Can’t rate this place enough, the staff are awesome too.
F.
This place is awesome, great coffee and great honey in a relaxing location. The owners are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you have.
There is a glass fronted hive so you can see the bees in action, as well as a few hives out back.
Definitely come here
T.
We took the “bee keeping experience” tour. Both my daughters, wife and I enjoyed the entire activity from dressing up the beekeeping suite, opened the hive boxes to find the queen and ended with a cup of mint water and Ice cream. The tour was very educational and love their mission to spread out the knowledge and provided such great experiences for people all over the world.
Highly recommended!!

I came in for a meeting over coffee and was extremely impressed by Buzz cafe.
I was greeted while passing through the door by the General Manager / Chief Bee Wrangler Nick Cameron who assisted and promptly pointer me in the direction of a much needed coffee.
While the coffee was being made I had a good look around and the setup is really well done with a great range of products.
If you are in the area I would totally recommend a visit
W.
Very enjoyable. We did the twin tour with our two grand children. it was highly educational and thoroughly enjoyable. we were very lucky to do the tour as the temperature at this time of the year makes it very risky to open the hives as the bees can die from the cold (last tour for the season). We then went and extracted some honey from the frame which we then put into some jars which we could take home, complete with personalized labels
P.
Nick & crew make a uniquely Kiwi experience combining a stunning outdoor natural environment with exquisitely put-together entrees, local wines and hearty coffee drinks. A must-stop now that it offers a small promenade of locally-made crafts and boutique food items next door.
R.
A friendly, family owned working farm! We had a great tour of the hives and were even shown how honey is spun. The cafe has a delicious offering of cakes and coffee as well as a shop stocked with local and artisan bee products!
A.
Thoroughly enjoyed the crafting of candles, soap and wraps. Extensive selection of honeys to taste. The cheese platter was delicious, and had good coffee
J.
A very relaxing casual space with lounges, large tables and other varied seating arrangements, Wifi and delicious cafe fare. I enjoy my hot chocolate and my wife loves their turmeric latte after a workout at the QLDC Event Center
B.
Awesome experience for our 2yo and us. Owner took time to show us how the live hive worked (and took these photos). The honey is amazing and coffee was spot on too 👍
R.
Best place in Queenstown!!! Staff are awesome, coffee is great and the food is delicious. Its set in an old sheep sharing shed with a fireplace so super cozy in winter. The outdoor space is huge and sunny in summer with cute lambs bopping about. A great place to hang out and drink great coffee.
V.
What an amazing experience with Buzzstop. We ended up staying for three hours, learning about beekeeping, bees and honey production. The wide variety of honey is impressive and delicious. We made our own honey wrap paper and took home our own picture labeled honey. Even if you’re just after a great selection of honey this is a must stop.
Thank you Nick!
L.
Really great experience, learned a lot about honey and bee. We bought the full tour and made candles, soaps, lip balm and hand cream which is very very fun. The price is fair and service is extremely good. The owner is very nice and friendly. Also the honey mead taste amazing 😌
N.
I participated in the honey spinning experience and it was brilliant!!! We arrived early and had a hot drink while we waited, the staff personally greated us by name and when the drinks came out we had a beautiful picture of a bee and honeycomb. We continued to have a one on one spinning experience with Nick who is the proud owner and expert on everything bees. Our experience was just over an hour and we each received a personalised container of honey. I would highly recommend attending if you are in the area. Fantastic value for money and the personal greeting and container make it the perfect experience. Thanks Nick and the team!
D.
Arrived here in pouring rain, had walked from home with our doggy - big girl, mastiff great dane, wasnt expecting the rain, anyhoo, got there, was looking around for shelter for her whilst we got coffee and food (always fabulous) and the staff actually came to the door and beckoned us in, welcoming our dog with open arms. Made my heart sing, thank you so much for being so welcoming of what essentially is a wee horse! Pure love dove though!!
C.
We always go to have a coffee there. It's an adorable place. The owner is extremely friendly.
R.
An absolute hidden gem! We did the 'Honey Spinning' course yesterday afternoon, and loved every minute of it! If the weather turns bad on the skifield or you want a cruisey afternoon, I would 100% recommend this activity as being the best thing you can do in Queenstown.
R.
Queenstown = Support Local Amazing A++
Chill outside in the Queenstown sun with a glass of honey infused gin & tonic, "your on holiday relax" very kid friendly community feel. honey Heaven 🍯Wine tasting, honey tasting. The owner is a lovely man with a big heart very generous the food is outstanding 👌
A.
My Husband and I made a visit to Buzz Stop whilst on our holiday in Queenstown. We decided to do the honey spinning tour and had the pleasure of being hosted by Nick, introducing us to the ins-and-outs of producing honey. He was an awesome host and is very knowledgeable! All the staff are friendly, making the experience that much better. Very family friendly with a cafe also. Definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting or living in Queenstown!
M.
A delightful place to visit with friends and family. Warm friendly service with great cafe food.
j.
Came here with the two kids who really enjoyed the soap making activity. Wife had a large coffee which she said was good. Cute little shop with lots of honey products. The beech honey dew is exceptionally tasty.
A.
Nick was very kind and accommodating. He showed my parents the process of bee keeping with great detail and took good care of my dad. The experience was really cool. The ambience is very trendy, Would 100% recommend!
A.
Perfect place for lunch with kids!
I.
Delishes food and coffee, awesome outdoor area and super friendly staff 🌞
Pies or breakfasts pretzel so yummy
A.
Incredible outing learning from staff about bees and honey! Hands on interact fun day out.
Staff showed exceptional manaakitanga. Venue and bathrooms in immaculate condition.
Made our own take away honey pot as well as seeing the process from bee to packaging
We will be back!
A.
This really was a 5* experience and that was mostly down to the warmth, enthusiasm and very accommodating members of staff. We booked a honey crafting workshop and were welcomed by Nick, the owner. As the only people attending we received top-notch service from Nick and latterly one of his staff as we made our soaps, candles and wraps. There was no scrimping or scrounging - quite the opposite in fact, very kind and generous people. Even if you aren't doing one of the workshops, there are a plethora of honeys available to buy (and sample for free!), not to mention the cafe with a delicious-looking selection of bakes and fancies. I'd highly recommend a visit to support this local business!
A.
This is an awesome place, so interesting and so much fun. All those amazing honey products, great for gifts and eating! Staff so friendly, the coffee s GREAT and really nice food. There is also a florist inside so while you are learning about bees and honey you can enjoy the fragrance of honey and flowers!
M.
Highly recommend the be a beekeeper tour to everyone! A must-do when in Queenstown or nearby!
We absolutely loved our time at Buzz Stop. We arranged our be a beekeeper & spin your own honey tour a month or so in advance for the days after our wedding in queenstown, and had to move the days around a couple of times due to weather. Rosie was great to deal with and was excellent about helping us get in at a good time.
Nick took us for our bee a beekeeper tour and to spin our own honey - and it was amazing. We liked the thought of bees beforehand but afterwards we are super keen on the idea of having some bees of our own! Nick is super knowledgeable about bees and beekeeping and taught us all about beekeeping and bees; and while we were in our beekeeping suits, we got to hold some bees (they’re really fluffy), open up hives and find a good frame full of honey.
At the end of that, we got to spin our own honey and got a personalized label on our jars of honey to take home. A really great memory of our special time in queenstown.
We really enjoyed it and had we booked earlier we would definitely have come back if we weren’t flying out the next day. Every time we come to queenstown we will be coming back.
D.
lovely place.
friendly staff
good honey and wine tasting.
B.
We did the Honey Spinning Tour!
It was such an eye-opening experience to something we take for granted every day! Nick was such a welcoming and captivating host, we learnt so much in such a short amount of time and had some laughs along the way too!
I never tend to engage fully in tours because I find they often drag on. However, the experience at Buzzstop, from Nick’s extensive knowledge and engaging attitude, to the hands-on honey spinning, and even the little labels Nick printed on our honey jars made for such a wonderful morning.
Honestly would’ve paid a lot more for the experience overall – you’re getting a lot more than a jar of honey and some spinning!
J.
Amazing Coffee with honey.
Friendly staffs and good music with atmosphere
N.
Sweet sweet experience. Adult of 4 did a honey spinning activity - amazing experience, learnt a lot, got to spin our own honey and take a bottle as a souvenir back home with our own label
P.
Cool we cafe stop just out of Queenstown with a nice country feel. Coffee was oustanding!
F.
We stopped into the Buzzstop for a bee tour on our way out of Queenstown before hopping on our airplane. We are SO glad we did! The tour was amazing and the food splendid too. Such a cute place. Great for getting last minute gifts before heading to the airport too. It’s a must see!
B.
What a cool place! Owner was really energetic and passionate, learned a lot about the process of making honey and even took a turn at spinning it. If you have time it's definitely worth coming here!
T.
Brilliant quaint little centre. Great food, service, been keeping tours, skin care and tastings. Fantastic for families and individuals.
Y.
Best bee tour experience you can get.
A.
My family and I did the spinning honey tour. It was amazing, my son has all the questions for me now.
Thank you for the insightful experience and the delicious honey we get to take home.
Would recommend this to all.
a.
It was a great experience to make my own honey straight out of beehive boxes and to make beewax wraps. You get to know fun facts about bees and the whole process of how to get honey from beehives is very well explained and easy to follow.
You also can relax and enjoy coffee if not up for experiences. I would love to revisit this place.🍯
M.
We had to stop here twice during our trip to Queenstown because it is just that good. The staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. It was the last thing we did before our flight back to the USA, the food is beyond delicious and the coffee is some of the best that we’ve had. A must do!
P.
Nice place, lots of food options, realfruit icecream, nice bee experience, enough parking 🅿️
C.
Wow, had a great visit to Buzzstop today, par-took in the Honey Spinning experience. Wow what an incredibly interesting and informative insight into honey! Totally recommend this for young and old alike. And to top it all off, the pottle of honey you take home afterwards is divine.
S.
Absolutely loved our honey tasting tour! Wonderful flavors paired with cheese. Even had a look at the honey spinning process. Nick clearly loves what he does and has an excellent product, keep up the good work!
J.
Was great to hear from Nick the bee keeper about the bees and their individual jobs they each have. Put on our Bee suits and visited his hives. We opened an active hive and were able to see exactly how the bees work as a team. Even got to hold a frame containing hundreds of bees. Highly recommend, would be great for kids too.
H.
Awesome food in Frankton, queenstown. Must try honey there specially who likes chilli then try chilli honey. Corn fritters presentation was just superbly amazing.
M.
Best Manuka honey I have ever tried. I am writing this review after months of using it.
The owner is also super friendly and welcoming. I can see the passion all over the place. I can’t recommend the honey here enough.
I also took the honey tour which was an eye opening experience. Massive work done from the honeybees to make that jar of honey. As a bonus; you get to harvest your own honey jar 😋💛
N.
I came through as a tourist with the missus and daughter to pick up some souvenir honeys. Nick was a great help and knows his stuff, and I left wishing I had more time to peruse and take part in their beekeeping tours.
Was one of the standout visits on my holiday and can't recommend them enough. More kinds of honey than I'd know what to do with, and here is Buzzstop with activities to make candles and skincare products.
Also, honey tasting station! If for nothing else, visit to try the different honeys and realise you still can't decide which one you want.
G.
Delicious coffee, friendly and efficient service. Interesting surroundings with loads of honey and bee information.
Q.
Rosie and Nick are very warm and sweet. Particularly soooo understanding for parents like us traveling with kids. Very good spot for shopping and coffee. So nice to be out of The city center and enjoy the company of buzzy bees:-)
D.
Fantastic selection of honeys and body care from all over NZ. We were very impressed with helpful staff who was happy to tell us about the honey selections.
Food and coffee was also delicious. Thank you
M.
Absolutely phenomenal tour. Did both the Beekeeping tour as well as the honey spinning tour and both were 10/10. One of the most fun and unique experiences I have done in New Zealand! Nick and Rosie are awesome!
M.
Really lovely place to visit if you need a honey fix in queenstown! Every time we fly down we come here and restock. Lovely place and staff, will be back next year.
F.
Amazing experience here, this morning. We went there, chilled a bit, took a coffee (+ waffles). Everything was perfect ! Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Thanks again guys!
We also created our own soaps and candles made with natural beewax. A wonderful gift idea 😎
C.
Fantastic place. Did the spin your own honey experience, Nick was a great tour guide. Food was also excellent and the honey mead was delicious
M.
Fantastic place... did the honey spinning tour. Such enthusiasm and love for bees and honey is infectious!
Awesome mulled wine, all sorts in the shop/Cafe. Highly recommend!!!
K.
Highlight of our day. Where do I even begin, excellent coffee, tea, pies, waffles and cakes. Endless array of honey products. Even better is the experience, service and knowledge of the staff. We learned all about bees, spun honey, filled our own jar, fed a bee honey on our finger, made beeswax cloth suitable for sandwiches etc, and homemade soap. This is a must do stop for all adults, kids and the like. An essential stop during your visit to Queenstown!
J.
Nick and the staff were very accommodating. They have a big variety of honey and their pricing are a lot cheaper than what you have in the supermarkets a must stop shop before you head back to the airport.
E.
Be-educated, Bee-ducate! 🐝
We had a great time here. Learnt quite a bit about the bees. The owner is passionate about his bees and zealously sharing his knowledge. Their honey is quite tasty too.. The 'central Otago wild flower' honey is a must try. 🐝
The American girl who taught us how to make the 'beeswax' cover is lovely.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
J.
What a great place to hang out. We tried their mulled wine, coffee and wine tasting samplers and they were all good! They have a small shop selling honey and other products. We bought some to take home with ua aa gifts. Cant wait to go back :)

A.
Loved the hot chocolate by the fire. Good simple food. Take the time to look around everything about bees and amazing honey.
We tasted an amazing one straight from the honey comb !
C.
Bought some very good quality honey and olive oil in the shop. The owner was very nice gentleman, he showed us his honey workshop, he's a very intellectual person. Love the products, prices are reasonable.
T.
We took a group of 5-7 yr old kids here for a craft session and they absolutely loved making soaps, beeswax wraps and candles. Nick and the other staff were excellent with the kids. We'll be back.
J.
Absolutely awesome waffles, tasted amazing and the coffee is pretty good too, staff are lovely.
but unfortunately massive let down. I did the - let's make it course which in the brochure tells you..
Make a selection of beeswax candles, honey soap, beeswax wraps AND beeswax leather polish to keep and take home with you.
Choose from our range of candles/soap moulds, bases and ingredients to create your own masterpieces from natural ingredients, while you work on your crafts we'll use our beautiful steam-Powered copper still to produce essential oil from freshly cut branches of local species such as Douglas fir and Manuka.
I booked online 2 days prior to my visit, so there was plenty of notice.
When you read online and in the brochure, it gives the idea that you make all products to take home!
Now I wasn't thinking 60liter tubs of stuff just like a sample of them.
Also when it cost $60 to do I thought that's what you would get..
I tried booking a spin class for the honey, online and it said booked out. There was hardly anybody in the store at the time and when I was doing my wraps a spin class started, so I'm not sure maybe a glitch online.
My appointment was at 2pm and I was in the "class" for a max of 15mins not happy with the price I paid for the outcome i received.
Could have brought a make your own eco wrap box for $40.00 and made a lifetime suply.
Hopefully this review helps others.
N.
Had a wonderful experience making our own honey. I never knew I could learn so much about bees and honey! Would highly recommend to anyone, definitely a must while on holiday!
E.
Very interesting to learn more about honey bees. The owner displayed how the bees collected honey right up to how honey processed. Received a free jar of honey as well!
B.
The shop is lovely, products are well displayed and fairly priced. Staff is very pleasant and helpful and they spent a great deal of time educating us about all aspects of honey. We enjoyed the time spent (over an hour) immensely.
C.
I love visiting buzz stop for a look around the gift shop & for a coffee and cake. I really like the area where you can see the bees working away behind a glass screen. Great place to pick up gifts with lots of locally made products available!

(Translated) A lovely place with friendly staffs and nice products.
The clerk directly took the beehives outside the store with fresh honey, and also introduced the products to us very kindly. There are products related to honey and honey. I can take a look at the hand-made shop, I feel quite real.

A lovely place with friendly staffs and nice products.
店員直接拿店外面蜂箱裝新鮮蜂蜜,也很親切地跟我們介紹產品,裡面有導覽行程跟蜂蜜相關的產品。可以來看看手作風小店,感覺蠻實在的。
