N.Really warm and welcoming on a cold windy evening. We ordered a mix of tapas and loved them all. Jalapeño toppers were very well received as they were different from any we had, had before . Loved my mock-tail “tropical storm”

D.Good food, good service. Took some time for food to be served, but it was still worth it. Ordered the fajitas which was awesome! (Waitress recommended chicken, another said prawns was her favourite, so up to you). I enjoyed the abracadabra steak as well. Lovely ambience and not too expensive, so try it!

J.Great food, friendly service and delicious cocktails 🍸 We called last minute quite late in the evening to see if they could stills serve us. The kitchen was getting ready to close but stayed open to take our order. We were greeted by a very friendly team happy to welcome us. The menu has a little bit of everything, we ordered from the tapas options and a salad... 4 dishes between two was too much! Delicious but filling. The calamari was a favourite and the home made aioli a winner 🏆 will definitely revisit when we are in the area again 😀

T.The food was ok (not many GF Options though) and staff were terrible. They had just two guests yet the tables weren't clean.
We had to chuck the smoothie as it didn't taste good at all - artificial siruppy taste.
There are surcharges on many things - e.g. meat with your nachos? Bacon with your french toast?
While the sirup that came with the french toast might have been genuine maple (I don't think so), its fruit salad was definitely off. The bread and nachos were great though.
We were disappointed.

E.We were there for a family gathering for lunch including our nearly 92 year old Auntie. The staff could not have been more accommodating. We had reserved a small cosy room, away from the music. The food was excellent, the prices are very reasonable. An all round splendid experience.

L.Went there for mothers day lunch with granddaughter and son. Place is lovely very busy. Atmosphere was buzzing. Unfortunately their spices were a bit too much for my granddaughter and she wouldnt eat her sliders from the kids menu. And my bacon was a bit too black and hard to eat. Overall definitely worth going back when they're not so flat out.
L.We had brunch there and loved it. Tasty dishes. They had streaky bacon - a favorite of ours. And I was particularly excited about the gluten free toast. The ambience was awesome and the place was huge inside with plenty of room for lots of guests.

—When you go in, grab a menu and grab a seat. When you’ve decided what you want, go back to the counter to order and to pay. They’ll give you a number to put on your table where your order will be delivered. Like many restaurants and cafes in New Zealand (NZ), complimentary tap water is available by the bottle, but it is self serve. The same for Abracadabra. You’ll find the water to the right of the cashier. The glasses are on a counter and the water is below in a refrigerator.
—Very cool vibe with seating in the front, porch style, inside and in the garden. There are also other rooms off to the side for groups to meet.
N.This is our second time here and although there was a bit of a wait for food it was totally worth it. The hot drinks were great, lots of things to keep our little ones entertained and the food was amazing. The best place for taking kids and the toddler meal trays are a hit and not ridiculously expensive like some places

J.Eclectic and cozy eatery and coffee place. We hung out there on a rainy day to kill time. They have a number of small secluded cozy areas to hang out in. Very friendly staff.
E.Amazingly friendly staff, the lady serving us on 11th Nov at about 6.45pm was just lovely, we had the burgers and beer special and a couple of chicken kebabs as a starter, delicious, highly recommended if you're in the neighborhood and if you're not in the neighborhood then go out of your way, you will not be disappointed. The burrito looked massive at another table but too big for this fellow. Great food, great service, they'll definitely see us again.

L.First time visiting Abracadabra in the 5years I've lived in New Zealand. We occupied the green room and it was absolutely fantastic. Such a relaxing atmosphere, amazing food, great service and outstanding drinks.

A.So I accidentally left my bag here and they so nicely kept it safe for me and I got it back, on top of this they also have an amazing vegan menu, my friend is vegan and the look on her face when she saw the options, and even for my none vegan friends. We were all so happy with the food and drinks. 100% recommend

S.Quick service, amazing food. Great for groups of all sizes or just for two. Great customer service and atmosphere. We had the Patio and its during the winter months but it was so nice that they had blankets out and avaliable for use. They also had the heater going and it's all covered in which keep us nice and warm. Love this place, highly recommend.

D.Lovely set up. Food is a little bit pricey. Not much choice for dairy free and as it was attending a birthday, choosing somewhere with lots of dairy free options wasn't a choice. Chef just needs to add a bit more variety of ingredient so it's not all beans.

Some of the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, however, one staff member was incredibly rude. They had slightly messed up our order, but when we questioned it; he accused us of lying about our order. This was especially an issue as they advertise a gluten-free-friendly menu and the order in question was for a person with celiac disease.

The happy hour tapas make for an affordable, tasty meal, but the pork taco was the clear winner, yum. Very family friendly.
S.As a local family we ate here for a Saturday evening dinner, the food was full of flavor with an excellent menu & beverage selection to choose from. Staff very friendly, very nice decor with nice atmosphere. However very disappointed on the wait time to receive meals especially with plenty of empty tables. Up to 45 minutes for the mains & 20 minutes for ice cream desert!! Not good enough!! Might go back but our town has plenty of other excellent eateries also.

J.Delicious creamy chicken pasta was my choice for this evening meal. I recommend you try it. Not an enormous amount of food but it was enough, served hot which is not always the case with a pasta dish. A party of 6 we were seated on the covered verandah on a windy but quite warm evening. Plenty warm enough if a little draughty. The rest of the family had no complaints about their food. Service friendly.

B.This is a gem... Hidden behind a cafe. I do recommend the golden lager, it is a good beer 🍻 and I voucher for it. The food is fantastic and I enjoyed it. The tapas is good too, especially the lamb sliders; slightly spicy but very delicious 😋. Also I had the chargrilled mushroom chicken; tastes good but slightly salty gravy tho. The chips are full of flavour
But overall, I really enjoy the food and drink.
Would I go back? Yes ☺ when I'm coming up to Rotorua
A.Very friendly enviroment, nice and extra kind ng staff. The food is amazing, fresh and organic ingredients made. Very busy at the lunch and dinner time so better to make a reservation. But there are plenty of tables outside, inside and even at the back in the garden with its own bar.

T.I very rarely take my children out to lunch as it usually ends up with one of them crying, one of them running away and Mum and Dad having a cold lunch but with the exciting kids lunch tray and the out side play house we were able to have a lovely lunch outing. The food was delicious, the coffee good and the atmosphere and service perfect! Highly recommend.

R.Overall ok mixed review , a very confused cafe between morrocan , Mexican, turkish fusion?? A bit inflexible with dietary restrictions (although gluten free toast was available). My request to substitute toast for eggs (same price on the sides menu) in a dish of creamy mushrooms was initially refused, but then agreed somewhat grudgingly. Ended up paying $17.50 for 2 poached eggs, 2 sausages and quarter of a cup of mushrooms in a cream sauce... I won't be returning anytime soon.
On a bright note, my partner enjoyed her dukkah scrambled eggs.
