Most unique cafe we know, was shocking to found out around 32 cats were there. Interior of the Cafe was lovely and a lot of ice cream flavours including butter chicken! It's a heart warming place to visit and definitely will visit again!

Amazing cafe, have been to a few cat cafes but nothing like this one. Cats were super adorable and seemed very happy. Topped it off with Gelato which was tasty 😊 overall great experience and will visit again when we are back in rotorua.

If you love cats, this is a place for you. Have coffee and ice cream then have a few hours with the kitty cats.They are beautiful cats. They also have souvenirs, like hats, like in the photo, te shirts, drink bottles and more.Staff friendly.

I was so excited to visit. The cats were friendly. However I felt the facility was fantastic (could be a bit cleaner) and the cats needed a bit more grooming. Some had fur balls, and others had morning eye crusties, and others really needed there ears cleaned. I know taking care of all these beautiful cats must be a full time job. Please try to do a bit better. It is such a cool place.

It is a beautiful cafe with beautiful furry babies i mean lovely cats. It is very spacious and tones of place for cats to play. Tones of seating areas as well if you love cats and coffee and peace totally try it out. Also a room with massage chairs. The ice cream shop in there is also good but not amazing, they need to work on their scooping.

Very lovely place! Me and my partner went this morning and there was no one else around so the cats were all very relaxed and playful. They are beautiful cats that are well groomed and gorgeous!

It's an okay cat cafe. Not much people. The price is good as long as the cats are out in the play area, as most cats were in their own room, but totally understandable. The cats in there come out when one of the staff shake the treat box -- which also we were allowed to give them (the time when we finally saw LOTS of cats). If there is a day without any cats in the rooms, it will be quite a waste of money, especially if you have kids, most of the cats stay in the room with the massagers, where only adults are allowed. The staff are quite friendly. Also personally, I think the drinks are a bit overpriced.

Great place to visit if you enjoy watching cats. The rules stipulate you can't pick them up which was disappointing but understandable. The cats are beautiful, but we didn't find them to be overly friendly, They didn't come up to us and we could only pat the ones that were sleeping. The ice creams were delicious.

Absolutely loved our visit! Serotonin levels were running high. The cats seemed to rush in to us as we entered which was amazing, maybe they thought we had treats? either way, it was flattering. Cats seemed super keen to play. $15 pp (adult) might seem a little pricey but if your a cat lover, it’s more than worth it! #takemymoney. Will definitely recommend others and hopefully return someday soon!

Came here on vacation in New Zealand with my family. This place is amazing and the cats are so lovely and friendly. One of them even sat on my lap without me picking her up. She stayed on my lap the entire time and I was very sad when I had to leave her. This place is great, 10/10 recommend. Unfortunately I live in Australia but the next time I come to New Zealand, this place is #1 on my list :)

So many cats just chilling about. Not all are keen for a pat but most are really chill! Some cats even have the confidence to clean themselves in public. In the back room with the massage chairs it is just a full on grooming session lol. The massage chairs themselves are a strange experience. You can Hang out with the cats for just under an hour while you have a coffee. The coffees are delicious I ordered a meocha myself. Fun little souvenir area aswell with a full on range of Gelato. If you love cats you just have to check it out!!

Cats were beautiful and very well taken care of, however I can't say i would go back again. The cats seemed a bit stressed, did not want much to do with anyone in there and we could not really pet any of them at all. We did not want to force ourselves on them either as we have owned cats for many years and know it would stress them. The staff are friendly and the gelato was very nice but i would be lying if i said i didnt leave here a bit dissapointed.

This was the perfect stop on our trip though Rotorua. The cats are wonderful, cute, and make for a relaxing time plus you get a cup of coffee with your drink. Bean, the cat will hop right on your lap for cuddles. They have a variety of cats that makes for a fun time. If love cats or are just in need of a relaxing time, this is your place.

It's a Gelato and hot drink place. They don't serve sandwiches/food, just those I mentioned. It's a place for cat lovers. I met about 7-8 ragdolls, 2 british shorthairs, 1 american curl was unfortunately sleeping, 1 grumpy MaoMao who was also asleep, a tabby who was sitting up asleep, and other long haired cats...be prepared to have cat hairs on you😊

Great for cat lovers. There's a large number of cats, they're used to people so are very friendly. A lot tend to want to sleep, which is fine as there's so many there'll almost definitely be one that wants to play or be petted. There's also some fun building blocks for kids, and an adults area with massage chairs. The gelato isn't too bad either!

This is one of the best cat cafes I've been to. It's very spacious. There are two rooms for you to spend time with the cats -- a front room with the window, some tables, and a couple massage chairs; and a back room with some couches and other seating. There are plenty of cats and seats, so it doesn't feel too crowded, even with a full group of people during the hour. I loved the ambiance. Bright, cheery colors! There are lots of structures for the cats to climb and play on. Toys are provided for you to play with the cats. And the music playing was so cute! The rates for an hour are reasonable -- competitive with other cat cafes -- plus it includes your choice of beverage! The meow-cha was yummy! Makes sure you book ahead, as it seems to be a very popular location and you may have to wait for the next hour to go into the cat rooms if you just walk in. At least you'll be able to enjoy some gelato while you wait! 😄

I went as a birthday treat and it was so lovely! We drove from Hamilton and it was definitely worth it. The cats I saw were all friendly and very relaxed, if you give them time they definitely warm up to you. The price is very affordable, plus you get a free drink! Lots of cute gifts to buy in the store and amazing gelato. Very spacious, clean and adorably designed. The staff working there were so lovely as well. Definitely recommend to get your cat fix!!

Was my first time experiencinga cat cafe, the hot chocolate was small for a $4 drink but awell. Loads of different kitties and different areas you can experience, I really did enjoy the massage chairs , Im definitely investing in one for myself ahahaha hmm the staff are friendly too and came on with treats for us to feed the kitties ahahhaa and they loved it ahahhaha their is one cat called Whiskey who was so adorable and lovely, he even cuddled and jumped onto one of my friends laps, I was a little jealous

Absolutely loved our visit! Very kid friendly, there's a nice corner for kids to play building blocks. I do think they should have small toys such as puzzles, or books instead as I think the rather loud noise from the blocks quite spook the kitties at times. Kitties seem to be well taken care of, lovely lush coates. Amazing facilities, there were massage chairs for the adults, absolutely LOVED this! Very thoughtful. Also, little attention to details such as providing lint rollers is awesome! Definitely coming back.

I did a lot of cat cafes in my life, especially in Japan, and honestly it's one of the best ! The cats are so nice, so cute and we see they are happy. The owner explains that there are not always the 18 of them here all the time, they switch in order the cats will be good. They have lot's of space, the place is cosy and really clean. Really awesome, they take care of cats.. and clients! The coffee is good. There is also massaging chairs. I definitely recommend this Cat Cafe 100% ! 15 dollars of one hour, don't hesitate one second if you are in Rotorua :)

Smiled the whole time. Other customers who'd been to other Cat Cafe's said this is the best one in New Zealand - because of the quality of these pure-bred cats. Nice drinks. Cool layout of cat furniture. We recommend grabbing a cat toy by the door.

I come here every time I go to rotorua. I’ve started coming here probably 5 or 6 years ago and it really has changed and I love it. The staff are friendly and helpful. The cats are rlly cute too :). I would really want to go back as soon as I can after it’s sage enough to travel from Auckland to rotarua.

Cute spot, nice assortment of cats for cat lovers of different breeds. They have you use hand sanitizer before you go in and remove your shoes or use shoe covers to avoid tracking foreign contamination into the cat area. You can pet and play with the cats, but cannot pick them up. If you are lucky, they come by sometimes and give you cat treats to feed. Fun assortment of gelato - the red wine gelato was a smash! The hot chocolate I had wasn't that great though, and tasted a bit like the kinds made by those multi-drink machines with water and powder. But would def go again if I were in the area just to visit the sweet sleepy cats.

Honestly my experience here was pretty average. We booked well in advance for 5 people yet when we got there it was way too packed for any of us to enjoy the cats, we barely got a seat inside. The cats were typical cats, sleeping the whole time and not really seeking human interaction but what can ya expect.

This place was very cozy and relaxing. The cats were very chill and soft! I loved it. I didn’t try the gelato but it looked very yummy! This place was wonderful and I’d like to come again. I’m very sad one of these Cat Cafes are not in Tauranga but that’s fine. I did notice that the wooden shelf thing that the cats jump on on the wall was slightly loose, no worry’s I just hope it’s strong enough. My daughters really wanted to go, and for $15 per adult and $10 per child we went and hung out with cats for an hour. They have free wifi, and I enjoyed the massage chairs. Kids loved it but a bit boring for the adults, pricey too. As a novelty touristy thing to do, it's cool. Weird & novel ice-cream flavours like Pickle and Butter Chicken available. I've been to cat cafés in Japan and this place blows them out of the water. Value for money is incredible we payed for 50 minutes of cat patting heaven and got 50 minutes of cat patting heaven. All of the cats were so friendly and snuggly. There was also a separate room for adults so if you wanted a break from the kids while sitting in a massage chair surrounded by cats you could.

What a great way to meet a wide range of cats. We highly recommend a visit here to relax with a cuppa in comfy surroundings. Plenty of kitties to scritch and pat, most of them friendly but none are rude, just a bit more reserved. Booking is advised so you don't have to queue if there's a rush on. Lovely setting and helpful hosts. Street parking right outside. The range of gourmet ice cream flavours is worth a visit in itself.

Nice staff and place but REALLY DISAPPOINTED OVERCROWDED really noisy! No rules people are yelling and don't respect the cat. It's not a problem with the staff, is education. But just limit people inside! And control them mostly with children. I think it's a problem with the manager. There was at least 30 people inside.. Too much.

We went to the 🐈 cafe for my daughters birthday. We booked in advance on line which was extremely easy and non complicated. The cat Cafe is a great place for cat lovers. So many cats in a friendly clean and lovely environment. It didn't smell like cat pee at all😀we were there for an hour and I had had enough, but my daughter and her friend could have stayed longer. There was no rush for us to leave which was appreciated 😊. Everything a cat lover could want cat books, toys, videos, and of cause beautiful fluffy cats who are obviously very used to people. Coffee came with booking and was good. Massage chairs was a bonus for the adults. Very calm and quiet environment. Great for kids who experience sensery overload. Nice easy walk from lakefront. This place is super fun and relaxing. The cats are all very chill and happy to let you pet them. Sometimes the cafe also hands out cat treats and then you can feed the kitties too! There are also randomly two electric massage chairs in the car room, which I tried out and they were pretty comfy.

Went here two years ago and I still think about it to this day. The cats were lovely and you order your drink and sip on it while enjoying these lovely felines company. It was a very cozy and chill vibe and great for all people. You go into a separate room for safety for the kitties and then you get to view all of them at the same time. Very friendly place( compare to Auckland). Lots of cats inside and few different rooms to play in. At the end of our visit one of the team member came inside to feed cats- so my daughter had chance to feed cats from her hands. Next time I will be in Rotorua, I will bring my daughter back in.

Mao mao is my favourite. The gelato is amazing i definitely recommend the corn gelato. If you’d like to try some different flavours then I’d definitely recommend this cafe. PLUS THE PRICE FOR ENTRY for an hour with so many cats is very good. Other cat cafes are pretty expensive and more restrictive. But this cafe is good bang for ya buck. PLUS the rooms and the set up they have for the cats is perfect for them as they just do whatever they’d like and even have their own private area to rest in that’s away from the public which I think is lovely for them.

Awesome place! An oasis of kitty love when you need to escape the outside world for a bit. Quite cheap and you get an delicious drink with the entry price. We even got to hand out some treats, very popular with both cats and guests. Sitt down and chill, flip in some magazines or take a brake in one of the massage chairs. Well worth a visit!

Went there earlier today. Beautiful, friendly cats in a very good environment for the cats. Some of the cats were aloof as cats can be, but when there were was a bit of food to be shared with them, boy did they get friendly. Can definitely recommend for some furry interaction, like I needed after missing my own cats for the last few weeks due to holiday!

Fun place to hang out with friends and family :) cats are sooooo cute and seemed to be well cared for. The admission ticket should include massage chair but there is none to be seen? May I also suggest having some hand sanitizers stationed around the petting area? :)

I had never been to a Cat Cafe before, but this was an amazing first experience! The cats were so friendly (staff too!) and they were so cheerful when it was snack time. There were so many cute and funny moments from cats walking upside down underneath the couch and a cat you thought she was 4 times smaller trying to fit under the bridge. There are two rooms to hang out in and cute music to relax to. Plenty of seating, cozy atmosphere, and the gelato was great and refreshing as well. (I recommend the Red Velvet gelato!) When you go see the cats, you get a free drink included ranging from hot coffee, tea, or chilly juices. There are over 60 flavors to the gelato and after you buy your scoops you can try out some of the flavors to make sure you get your right pick! During my visit I was able to pet and see about 21 cats roaming around, all of which were soft, kind, and extremely cute. Don't forget to vote for your favorite cat on your way out, I hope you can play with Mace, one of the best cats around!

I’m allergic to cats but my daughter loves them, so this is a good way to get time with cats without living with them. The cats have never had a problem with my child. We remind her ahead of time to not pick the cats up, keep her voice soft and to be gentle, that way she’s expecting quiet time with the cats. We’ve been to a cat cafe in Japan that had cats available for adoption, which might be a beneficial addition to this cafe.

The place is usually peaceful as it plays soft music. It is the kind of place where you want to relax and just admire the cute cats. I don't really bother the cats much. I guess I'm just lucky that at the times I went there, it wasn't chaotic since some reviews here say there were kids chasing cats around. I'd definitely come back for more :)

A nice little get away to play with kitties and have a tea or coffee. Only downside in my opinion are the room sizes for the amount of cats, and people that visit hourly. It gets quite cramped when it's busy and you find yourself standing at a wall watching everyone else crowd the cats. Cute cats! On the day we went, we were lucky that there where 18 cats. There was a kitten hiding, but went out. It was very shy and didn't like being near pepole. Some cats where scared, but after the treats came out they all came out and happily ate out of our hands. 10/10 would go again! Great tourist attraction!

Fancy Meow Cat Cafe is a unique place in Rotorua, and I love it! Cat cafes are popular in other bigger cities, especially internationally, so i was so excited when Fancy Meow opened. For a cat cafe it does a good job. Last time I checked there were 14 cats and counting. The drinks are nice the staff is friendly. The merch is super cute and if you go at the right time they'll give you treats to give to the cats. Plus they have free wifi- I would recommend going here.

Excellent cat cafe. You purchase an entry ticket which includes a drink of your choice. There were about 15-16 cats with plenty of space to roam around and play with toys. You can pick them up and snuggle with them. They were all clean and the facilities are in excellent condition. An excellent way to spend an hour and they also have free Wi-Fi.

We took the 30 minute option which cost $10 for adults and $8 for my 6 year old, includes a drink and free use of the massage chair(bonus!). Cats are well cared for. My 6 year old has wanted to come here for a long time and he's not disappointed! We will be back when the right occasion arises.

This is indeed a fancy cat cafe! The cats are many different breeds and different degrees of fluffiness - I believe they are all rescues. You get a coffee/hot drink that is delivered to you in the room. There are plenty of places to sit, some looking out onto the street and others tucked away with books and a tv screen showing cute cat videos. Perfect to relax in after using the escape room in the same building.
