S.A hidden gem in Shannon. We were looking for a cafe style lunch but so glad we settled on this bakery instead. It was fantastic and we would definitely stop there again! The garden setting was perfect and includes a baby changing table in the spacious and clean toillets. Plenty of bakery style food. I had a delicious lamb and kumars pie chocka full of tender meat and my friend a chicken panini. The mochas and eclairs were also perfect.
J.Extensive menu of yummy food. Everyone will find something they like here - from all day breakfast, and toasted sandwiches to cakes. The sandwiches are chock-full of salad ingredients. The staff were friendly and efficient. Tea-for-one came in a good sized pot. We reserved a table for 6 in a corner so it made it seem private. There is a bit of road noise from heavy trucks rumbling through the town. There are tables outside under umbrellas in a back garden too. The customer toilet is out there down a path.
P.First time stopping here, just got coffee. Its was very good and hot. Would definitely recommend this place. Checked out food prices and they seemed reasonable. If your traveling through Shannon, give it a go.

S.Good, simple lunch fare, reasonably priced and generous servings. There is the option of sitting inside or outside in a surprisingly delightful garden. We ate in the garden surrounded by early spring blossom and lots of cute little birds. Peaceful, unhurried and good nosh.
B.Great service with a smile i only found this café and bakery when i had a call of nature in Shannon NZ on my way to Otaki and straight across the road from the public toilets was this wonderful cafe and bakery it's the first time i have noticed on my occasional trips from Masterton to Otaki and the other great thing about stopping was just next door to this place is the old plane from Mangaweka is there sitting on top of some shipping containers awaiting repairs.
L.So impressed with this lovely little bakery. It will definitely be our go to when passing by. The sandwiches were so fresh, the pies were the best we have ever had and we are very picky when it comes to pies. The place was very clean and so affordable!! The staff were so polite and helpful. A really nice humble Bakery that I would recommend to everyone.

R.Yum! Wish we'd stopped here on previous trips North & south. Good bakery tucker, lots of variety, reasonable prices and something for everyone. Easy visit, I hope I'm in time for a pepper steak pie next time - steak and mushroom was a great alternative though.

D.A small town. As you drive in to Shannon one could be forgiven for thinking that it had nothing to offer a discerning traveler. BUT just around the corner is this amazing little cafe. It has some of the best tasting pies on route 56.
C.Really impressed. Simple food, but tasty. I had a big breakfast which was cooked just right. A flat white which was perfect (often find these overstrained when I go to bakery’s).

R.Stopped here for pies after Owlcatraz, and the kids said they were the best pies they've ever had (we eat lots of pies)...and I'd have to agree! Mince and cheese and steak and mushroom were the orders of the day. We'll definitely stop here next time we're passing through! Takeaway coffees were good too.

K.Great pies and food. Try the Lamb and Kumara pies! Fast forward 3 years to June 2020 and I have just had a pea, pie and pud pie. If this pie couldn’t win the national pie awards no pie in the land could! Also try the chicken kebabs. Superb!

A.Plenty of choice from cabnet and menu. Food reasonably priced, and service was quite quick. There was a nice area to sir in a garden like setting or you could sit out front. There was the option of sitting inside but this appeared a wee bit cramped for my liking.
A.Great pies and coffee.
J.No condiments (free) such as tomato sauce for your pie - which is just cheap and out of step with the majority of other cafes. No free water? My pie (Lambs fry) was little more than gelatinous sauce with a few chewy bits of kidney. The chocolate brownie was OK. Next time I'll drive on by, there's far better 30 minutes up the road in either direction. It's like a bakery that hasn't quite figured out how to be a cafe. The outdoor seating area is nice in Summer (I've been once before and it was the same crappy pie etc).

K.flat white was over priced and poorly made. (One third was foam). other wise.. sandwich was great as was the indoor and outdoor areas. Well maintained and clean.
