Nice cafe in a little town Shanon with good ambience. Tasty food & coffee, friendly staff! I wish you would take a little more care of the drinking water glasses, recommend using baking soda to polish to make it clear & shine. Hope this is a constructive feedback, no offend!

Today he was grumpy, pressured us to order fast because he was short staffed. Food is the same price but you now get less. Won't be returning. Wouldn't waste your time or money. What was once a good place is now just a distant memory.

A very cute cafe with a huge range and well made food to boot. I enjoyed the pancakes, that secretly had a slice of banana between each piece!

Most times driving past this place is busy so thought must be worth a try. Ordered pancakes for my wife and a big breakfast for myself. Pancakes had that reheated feeling/taste to them so not very good. The big breakfast was on par with other offerings in the Horowhenua region so ok there. Overall an average experience.

I can see why this cafe is so very busy...great location on the main road. Very friendly staff and excellent food & coffee. Quick, efficient service. Indoor & outdoor seating. A clean loo for customers. Always a newspaper & mags, music. All around relaxed atmosphere & perfect to get a break from driving. Plenty of parking along the main road, both sides. Careful crossing the road!!

We had brunch. The food was ok and the coffee was good but charging $4.50 for two slices of gluten free bread was over the top. It comes on a side plate so don't ask for it if you don't want to pay the extra.

Mince on toast....? Apart from that it was nice enough, the staff were friendly, nice theme throughout. Used to work there and it was a good experience, maybe consider getting rid of the giggle TV. Not very classy.

Great place to stop for a coffee and a snack, they have gluten free options but any time after 3pm they may sell out because they are very busy. they can make great gluten free toasted sandwiches and there milked shakes are awesome. if you find this information helpful give it a thumbs up.

THE HORSEMANS CAFE SHANNON This is a very popular cafe, always full of people traveling through, plus locals, Friendly helpful staff, good selection of light food, Good menu to choose from off blackboard. Plenty of places to park, very good stop off. I would recommend this cafe to everyone traveling through to try. Prices well, you pay for what you get, nothing is cheap these days. Please, don't take my word for it, but go try this lovely cafe for your self. Worthwhile. Thankyou Louise.

Had a quick bite to eat here, Swiss Custard was yummy and the half pies are a good idea when you want something hot but not tooooo hungry. Lots of selection on their blackboard menu and cabinet food all looked great! Will definitely stop here again and try more

Great eggs bene! Stopped in twice in two days, first on the way from Palmy to Wellington, next day back from Wellington to Hamilton. Made sure to have a nice almond chai latte as well which was awesome. Owners very friendly and accommodating of my fussy order!

The Horseman's Cafe is a delightful stop which I regularly frequent when I'm heading up the North Island or to the Hawkes Bay region. Counter service and an extensive blackboard menu offer a wide range of delicious and tempting options. The coffee too is good airport and well-made. The owners and staff are friendly and obliging. Give them a try - you won't be disappointed.

Two of us popped in for a quick lunch on our way to Wellington. The staff were great. Very friendly and humorous. Our pies were okay, but the carrot cake was burnt on the bottom and an unusual recipe with lots of sultanas - more like a fruit cake than a carrot cake. I ordered chocolate on my mochaccino, as I hate cinnamon, but it came with cinnamon, so I had to scrape it off. A bit disppointing. I didn't bother to tell them as we were in a hurry to get 3 baby pet rats to their new home! A bit disappointing after the friendly welcome. It was lovely to see older people doing a great job behind the counter. 😊
