P.We wanted to share our breakfast so asked for two spare plates. They served us two separate meals which were huge!. What a nice touch and thank you. Food was outstanding as was the services. Well done team 👏 definitely recommend this Cafe.
A.I was a little disappointed this time around have been there before when visiting Taupo. Not many options when it came to gluten free and found it a bit expensive for bland basic food. Also had to pay extra to have milk with our tea. There are so many good eateries in Taupo I probably wont go there again
J.We ate here this morning as we are on holiday. Cafe is beautifully presented 😍. The staff are extremely friendly, well presented helpful, with very professional customer service. Our food was delicious & the coffees were fantastic ☕! Would highly recommend!!!!! Will most definitely come back.
K.Keto friendly cafe; they have a Keto menu. We order the keto blat with cauliflower chip and keto pizza. The blat is very yummy. The pizza base is made from cauliflower which is a little bit soggy, but the pizza taste good. They also have 1 keto slice in the cabinet, but looked dated, so we didn't order
J.We had a lovely breakfast - great portion sizes and good prices. The keto breads weren’t edible but the cauliflower chips were delicous. The head staff did an amazing job of looking after us & supporting her training waitress at the same time. Would def’ go again.
S.Soooo good! Food was beautiful, especially the rosti. Really good coffee, attentive and friendly staff and super impressed with cleanliness. When staff weren’t busy with customers they were busy with cleaning, so nice to know you’re eating somewhere with so much attention to detail. Will definitely be back!!

l.Was ok, we had finished our 2nd round of drinks before our breakfast order came but thats not a biggie for me. The big breakfast however just doesn't work, a lot of fried food on the plate, too much bacon, sausages and mushrooms for my toast and there's no spags or baked beans to break all that hard fried food on the plate. Came here coz its convenient as they do all day breakfast.
M.Great flavours and being outside dining was good. The staff looked after us well and made sure we were warm and comfortable as the night cooled

C.Fantastic service from the waitresse and waitors here, the lady talked through all the things in the cabinet and recommend different menu items, she was incredibly helpful. Also my tea came with a timer which allowed me to drink it at the optimum brewed level, this was fantastic! Great eggs benedict as well, had a lovely savoury and sweet combination of the two. Epic.

N.Average food from a awesome staff, meal sizes aren’t really big, food presentation and place itself is beautiful, need more variety on menu. From the front it doesn’t feel a big place but is a great seating area inside as well as outside.

K.The Piccolo Cafe is a nice cafe in Taupo and the atmosphere inside is correct for a lunch. We ordered some steak and cheese pies and a bacon and egg pie and paid the meal price of over 15 dollar for it. That is a clever way of making business. The quality was really good and the coffees were also very good
v.A excellent restaurant. Very attentive waiting staff. Lovely chill beer glasses and very reasonable priced food and beer. The pizza was abundant in content and was very tasty. Overall a very pleasant experience and will certainly return. Another great Taupo restaurant with excellent staff.
T.It was closing time, but they made an iced coffee for me to take away. I walked out happy.🥳 That was 2 weeks ago. I had a coffee and the most yummy homemade blueberry cheesecake I've ever had. The girl waiting tables was a great front person, always busy running around cleaning tables and sweeping under and around them singing softly to herself, but not too busy to help with anything you ask her, a credit to this cafè, I hope the boss appreciates the asset he has there. I will have regular coffees at this cafè now.👍🏼🤠

D.Nice friendly manager and good atmosphere. The counter staff was training, and although they seemed lovely, they weren't very attentive and we had to repeat ourselves multiple times. The drinks and banofee slice were really good though, and there was even free WiFi which was one of the reasons we went in to catch up on some work.
S.This place is a 3 or a 4 star, depending....it's well situated in Taupo and we'd never tried it before so we did just after New Year. Unsurprisingly it was very busy and staff were a bit frantic. After being seated there was a bit of confusion over table service. Ie the first 4 people got table service the last four didn't. The coffees were not great but we're passable. The food was good but expensive which is why I've marked it down.but like the service that was a mixed bag too. We thought $30 for a steak sandwich expensive,some of the kids meals were in the $12 range which was more acceptable.
The food was very good. Our issues were with the patchy service - bit it was busy - and whether the adult meals really were worth $22 upwards. This isn't a restaurant! Again the cafe is well placed, just go when it is less busy and do not pay up for the expensive meals if you can help it as they aren't really worth it
r.Was very busy but the staff were really good. Seated us by the bar until a table came ready. It was worth the wait. I had the Big Brekkie. My partner had the Shakshuka. I eat a lot but could not finish all that was on the plate. My partner inclusive. Really wanted to because it tasted so good. Highly recommend. Wish we had something this good in Helensville

M.Great service. Arrived with a list of 13 different coffee and tea orders on a scrap of cardboard to take away. All of the orders came at the same time still hot. We'd added the names to the list so we could sort the order out later when we got back. The staff named each cup for us! Great service, really friendly and helpful. Oh yes, good coffee and food too. 😃

m.I had the Eggs Benedict and hot chocolate. It was easily the best breakfast I've had in New Zealand so far! Great atmosphere and lovely staff, especially the lady with blue hair. She was so welcoming and friendly, would definitely recommend.

H.One of the best big breakfasts I've had, great quality, cooked perfectly, you'll need a big appetite for this one, swapped my toast out for freyas bread though not a big fan of vogels. We also enjoyed the smoked salmon pizza.

B.Not bad place, except for the food wasn't the best, got waffles, tasted great but portion for price was a bit off, could do with more, ordered a chicken pizza with cheese but a bit too much cheese overload. Last thing, should consider closing the entry door to their toilet, not nice to hear people doing their business while eating. Great coffee though, probably the best I've had in awhile.
J.Lovely breakfast however was sitting outside in the cold for 45 minutes waiting for breakfast and the eggs Benedict was very rich with no lemon flavour. The price of drinks was astronomical.

V.Stopped by for a late lunch. Order a latte and a pizza. Latte was more of a cappuccino (too much milk froth) and it was insanely burnt. Didn't even drink half of it. The pizza I ordered (smoked chicken) tasted alright but wasn't really a pizza. There was way too much topping (not that I'm really complaining) and made it very difficult to eat with your hands. Not a huge issue but the pizza base was very hard, making it difficult to cut with a knife. Pricing of food was also on the expensive side. Coffee prices are standard pricing. Not sure how it compares with the rest of the cafes in Lake Taupo but definitely expensive food compared to the rest of the places I've been around New Zealand and back home in Australia - probably aimed at the tourists in the area?
N.Friendly staff, good service. Had to wait about 20 mins or more to be served (table service). Then a further 20mins just to be served drinks and then a further 30mins for food. But the food was absolutely delicious!! Definitely worth the price. I recommend this place if you don't mind the wait for food and drinks.

P.Spent a week in taupo and visited here 4 or 5 times for coffee, cakes and lunch and every time the food, coffee and service were excellent. The coffee is really consistent from long black to flat whites and the cakes are equally tasty with the passionfruit slice being a personal favourite. Being licenced also meant we enjoyed a lovely pinot gris with today's lunch which was a tasty potato top pie and one of the largest stuffed kumaras for my wife. Highly recommend this place for its nice comfortable seating and friendly staff.

S.Was ok for a 3.30pm visit. Food in cabinets looked great. I had a salmon tart that came with a side of lettuce leaves. The salmon tart had a lemon sauce in it, that was not to my likening, but other people might like it.
My latte needed abit more love put in the milk, abit bubbly, not smooth.
Will have another visit to try something else.
Cafe was nice n clean with friendly, helpful staff.
