D.A nice hidden gem. Some special local roasted coffe on offer, single origin as well as blended. The coffees we had where very nice. They also have all equipment you meed to make your own perfect coffee. Very high quality standard equipment. They had some sweets available as well. I like their no waste approach.
C.Hidden down a lane way is one of Taurangas best coffee roasters, with 8+ varietys to buy right from behind the counter. Their Ethiopian single origin beans, being one of my favorites.
I had an large almond milk flat white of their Stag blend. It was excellently made, by their friendly and knowledgeable staff. Soft foam milk with that sheen on top, prepared in an Almond milk exclusive jug.
To be honest the coffee wasn't to my taste which I would put down to the Almond milk used, any one who uses milk alternatives will know the hit and miss nature of this.
It can be hard to find, and seating is at a premium. It is definitely worth a visit, which must explain why I keep going out of my way to go back.
E.As a coffee lover, this coffee is the best in Tauranga.
I would highly recommend grabbing the nice coffee.

P.Amazing coffee if you manage to locate this place tucked down a driveway behind other business you will get the treats. The slices and brownie they sell are a tasty sweet treat. Often stop here on the weekend or for morning tea if I am in the area for work.
p.Suuch amazing coffee and super accommodating staff! My 4 Yr old niece absolutely gets spoilt every time we come in for a coffee and a fluffy! Beautiful welcoming experience all round. 10/10 recommend.

G.9:10 Awesome large Cappuccino's, was little disappointing temperature for both cups were boarder line when delivered and too cold by half way through. Whereas other Roaster in Mt Maunganui near bridge - coffee was equal quality but temperature was perfect. Otherwise great Coffee.

A.Went here after breakfast at one of the local cafe. Tried a flat white and it was top notch! You can taste the various flavour notes and depth from the beans. Barista skills were on point.
Came here the next day to have a light snack too. Service was great but coffee was a disappointment... though it was not the same barista as the day before.

M.Excelso is probably one of the highest-quality coffee roasters in NZ. The shop itself is a hidden gem, tucked away in an industrial area of Tauranga. It can be hard to find if you're from out of town, but it's worth the effort to find it. The baked goods are ho-hum, but the coffee is exceptional. You can have it brewed almost any way you'd like - a rarity in NZ. Their beans are all single-origin and I'd recommend a chemex brew for the lighter ones. They've added smoothies to their menu, too, and they are healthy and delicious.

A.Great selection of coffee roasts and implements, (they sell aeropress, hand grinders, chemex and more). Coffee might have just been an off day, expected more from an in-house roasting place. Had a cappuccino to go, lacked flavor complexity and was a little bitter.
