Great Lamb burger, flounder and mushrooms dish. But most importantly the coffee is good. Tried the flat white as usual. Sorry I took photo of it after I started drinking it.

This place was outstanding. Excellent, friendly efficient team, great food and coffee. Excellent big airy outdoor seating area and options for socially distanced indoor seating. Kids toys and clean amenities. Bright fresh colors, and the cups matched the paint scheme which we appreciated greatly!! Fully recommend.

Amazing little café, the cabinet food is all fresh and delicious (with lots of choice, including veggie options), and the dishes and pizzas looked great too! Very friendly and efficient staff.

Really enjoyed our late lunch here at Waiomu. The hostess was lovely, funny but organised and welcoming. The food was tasty and well proportioned. And the coffee was one of the best I've had. Will definately come back.

Have been here a few times before and the service for takeaway coffee has been very slow every time. Was also given the wrong coffee twice even after paying $12.50 for one 😬 food is nice though

Lovely maple latte and smoked fish pie 🥧 very friendly and helpful. Revisited 3 months later disappointed . Sausage roll cold and too many herbs and curry very expensive. Smoked fish pie too many vegetables what happened to the lovely smoked fish pies in the creamy sauce. Not sure I will be back next time way too expensive for what you got

Icecream related: flavours ok, nothing exceptional. Sizes small. The "Ridiculous" size for $6 isn't ridiculous at all. I have paid 5+ dollars in other places before and the portion is much more generous.

Great food and great service. They were very busy but it didn't take long for our lunch to come out well presented and tasty.

The beach visit was lovely, haven't been to the Cafe as always taken a chilly bin full of goodies excellent day out at Waiomu Beach safe for the young and old has a barbecue area will visit cafe some other time

Best Coffee ☕️ and Fresh Muffins

The Waiomu Beach Café is really great. The service is very friendly and helpful. After a short time we get our food very warm and fresh. Our pizza and soup was delicious. The design of the Waiomu Beach Café is simple and everything is clean. The cakes and muffins looks awesome and yummy.

Is this the best cafe on the Coromadel Peninsula? I haven't been to a better cafe! A must-stop on your drive from Thames to Coromadel. Perfect in the summer. Great food selection and coffee, ice cream, licensed (ah, that cold beer or glass of vino), and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and toys and books to keep the little ones occupied. It's right across the road from the beach and the Waiomu Domain (camper Van's allowed, public barbecues, and toilets).

Absolutely gorgeous! Can hear the waves lapping onto the rocks, best sleep tonic ever!

Delightful cafe with delicious menu. Some really lovely coffee options, my partner particularly enjoyed the honey latte!

We had breakfast here and it was great. They have a great menu and freshly baked treats. Service was great and good view of the ocean. Plenty of parking but it was early morning and out of season. We will be back!

Good people, good service, good nosh and great location. We've called in over the years, and have taken our son and his good lady there when they have come home to NZ to see us. But this review is about another great reason to go to Waiomu on the Thames Coast. The waterfront reserve across the road has an immense Pohutukawa tree worthy of reverence. Pick a good day, go there, then dine at the café. Both are worth it. About that huge old Pohutukawa. We never noticed it for years, until one hot day when we bought an ice cream at the café and wandered across the road to enjoy it. We were stunned, and promised each other we'd go back to photograph it in bloom. The floral display that heralds the approach of Christmas is one of the things that makes pohutukawas so special to New Zealanders. Today, with our own pohutukawas coming into full bloom, it was time. Back we went, and it didn't disappoint us. Enjoy these pictures, and imagine being there. Its beauty is truly majestic in scale. The photo of my wife beneath the the aerial roots will help you grasp it. Each time we have seen that tree, I am awestruck by the sight. Walking beneath it is like entering a cathedral, stirring at first, then immediately calming. I am sure it will call us back again.

Really nice place to visit. Friendly staff and some quite different food to have with their excellent coffee. I would suggest you don't buy their muffins. Had them a couple of times and both times very solid and only a couple of blueberries. Ate half birds got the rest.

Fantastic Cafe, always love this place. This time around we had 4 adults and 2 toddlers and the service and food was great. The staff were amazing. Little details like interacting with our toddlers when bringing the food out made a huge difference. We took away some cabinets treats too. Yummmmmm!

Only reason this didn't get five stars was because they have a daft order and pay system. Food lovely and really nice staff. i do not understand why we can't just pay when we order. Most people would prefer to leave after eating like any other cafe in New Zealand. Three times now we have been on way to car before I remember we haven't paid. But in all other respects it is fabulous. Well worth visiting 😁

The menu appears very simple but everything was full of flavour. Also ordered a flat white, which when received was more like a cappuccino due to the amount of milk foam however it was such nice coffee didn’t feel the need to complain so just constructive feedback.

This is a retro cafe just up the coast from Thames. The coffee is good and if you order from the menu they have a great selection of gluten free and vegetarian options. I had the Moroccan bean soup which is well worth a return visit.

Delicious coffee, weird layout and it takes a bit for your coffee to get there when they're busy (like 15 minutes).

Besides the great coffee, food and location, the other bonus is the great and friendly staff.

I am positive that we had brunch at that very table in the photo. The quality of product demands that you stop at that little cafe that you see when you are wizzing by, saying to yourself, "must stop in there next time I'm through". The flounder fillets we had this morning for brunch were perfect. Smallish, full of flavour and just right for the time of day.

Perfect cafe. Great food. Friendly and efficient service. Location is beautiful. Coffee, ice cream, fresh on site baking, interesting and ever changing menu, fresh locally sourced ingredients. A local treasure we are happy to share with the world.

I ordered a pizza and a coffee it took over half an hour to receive my food even though it wasn't to busy. Only giving it a high score because when i finally did receive my food it did taste good.

One of my favourite cafes for many reasons.. great location, service, food and caters well for grandies..

WE stopped here for a coffee on the way to the coromandel . GREAT COFFEE. We stopped on the way back home on the return. Had some lunch . The staff were awesome...the drinks were awesome the food and service was exceptional .. i just wish i lived closer to it.. i woukd eat there at the very least once a week .. excellent ...👆👏👏👏👏👏👍

We chose to stop here since it has an EV charger and we could feed the car while we fed ourselves. I’m really glad we did. The food was amazing, the staff incredible and now I’m wondering how we can detour back past on our way back.

BEST coffee on all coast road from Thames to Coromandel Township. VERY friendly staff. Fab service. We NEVER miss stopping there. TRY IT. You will not be disappointed. PS They even have an EV Charging facility :-)

As always a lovely place to take visitors to our area. Please bring back the Beetroot and Chocolate cake. But the Chocolate Friand was a suitable substitute. 😄 And Zoe appreciated her doggy treat too.

Must have driven past here a hundred times and following a recommendation called in for lunch with two teenagers. Great being able to park in the shade across the road next to the park. The hangers on ordered a pizza and scrambled eggs with sausages while ordered the kumara platter. The kumara platter was excellent accompanied with a fresh, seed filled salad. Compared to Lukes the pizza didn't make the grade while the sausages and eggs left a 15 year boy still hungry. Great spot with a friendly vibe and the dog chilled very happily as well.

We arrived with a large group of 14 for lunch on a stunning Sunday afternoon. The staff at Waiomu Beach Cafe were fantastic All food and coffee orders sorted - nothing missed (very impressed) All the food chosen was delicious and the coffee was brilliant Thoroughly enjoyed my Chai Latte with Chilli on top (the small chocolate fish was brilliant also) Highly recommend as a destination or if passing stop in Menu and Cabinet food available

They even had a wee bone cookie for my wee dog. Love the food, the staff and pretty much everything about the place.

Waiomu Beach Cafe is between Te Puru and Tapu. It has a Tesla charging station. It is a great place to top at on a longer trip. It has a great range of food and coffee and the staff are friendly. You can sit outside and enjoy the sun or inside.

Always atop here. Food is awesome, cakes and warm scrolls are to die for. Great coffee.

5 of us turned up for brunch and all had 'eggs your way', so whether fried, poached or scrambled, we all said the eggs were cooked perfectly. Yum with the hollandaise sauce.

A very popular cafe up the coast from Thames. They have a comprehensive menu and ice creams but be prepared to wait at popular times of the day. So it's a chill out destination place or stopping by of the journey. Beach and picnic reserve across the road. The Waiomu kauri track walk starts just along the road.

Best coffee on the Ngati-Maru highway and a great place to stop on your journey to the Coromandel. You can sit in the outside courtyard or walk across the road and enjoy the seaside. Excellent service with a smile and great local knowledge. Don't drive past the Waiomu Cafe

The homemade baked goods are delicious. It's a great pitstop for trips to the Coromandel. The coffee is sub par and could be improved.
