Good atmosphere, friendly staff. Wide, open seating. Food can be expensive ($24-$30) and not my first choice personally, but still great food for a cafe. Kept clean and tidy. Nice garden area.

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch in the sunshine. Great food and atmosphere, loved how they welcomed our dog with pats and a huge bowl of water, a great bonus. Friendly and welcoming.

Good food, excellent coffee (not burnt by boiling the water above 93C), spacious tables, friendly and helpful staff, and a lovely atmosphere. Harlau house is a bit out of the way, but places you in a country atmosphere. Two cheeze poppers and two almond latter's cost me $20, so their prices are reasonable.

I love this place. The atmosphere is just so nice, not a huge menu, but the food is good, and there's cabinet food as well. The staff are lovely too.Photo is the scrambled eggs - delicious! Thank you!

Fantastic fantastic fantastic. We ate outside where the tables are spaced so well it almost feels like you are alone. The iced coffee was superb, steak sammie was perfect, chips were a highlight. Will return again and again

Lovely coffee and afghan biscuit. We didn't have a meal as there were not the same variety of food choices as there has been the previous times under the old name. The setting is still just as lovely.

Food was ok. Hubby had steak sandwich which he enjoyed. I had blue cod which was a big portion with salad and fries. Didn't really enjoy thick batter, or quality of the fish. Lovely coffees. Atmosphere was great to.

My family and I came out on Saturday 5/10 for my birthday lunch. Great meal and service. Love Harlau House. Would normally give 5 stars but because there was a few of us we were out in the side room and was quite cold. Otherwise was great.

All aspects of this restaurant recommend themselves... superb ambiance, good food, good choices, speed of delivery, friendly staff, prices reasonable. One caution... the omelette order has in the past held a most unhappy greasy taste. Enjoy... avoiding that one is my advice. Definitely go to Harlau House. It'll become one of your favorites!

My Mum and I visit regularly with my grandson. It is a beautiful place to relax in the sunshine. The service is excellent, the food fresh and delicious and you can browse the shelves for that special gift. Thank you Harlau :)

I went for lunch last Saturday , although they had a function going on , we were still made to feel welcome. The food was delicious , the service suburb . Will recommend to all and definitely be back . My chicken and bacon brioche bum burger awesome and my friend has the chicken salad . We both left feeling comfortably satisfied . Well done Harlau House !

I brought my 4 kids and husband in for breakfast about 2 weeks ago. We both had the big breakfast, it was marvellous! The mushrooms were hands down and honestly the best mushrooms I have EVER had! The kids tucked into their enormous kids size pancakes and enjoyed every moment. Definitely worth the trip from Lake Tekapo to sit outdoors in the sun whilst the cows moooo in the background! We will be back!!

My community organisation had been having morning teas every term at The Stables and I was curious to see how it had changed now that its been done up and rebranded. We had around 20 folk in the separate room and it was obvious a lot of work had gone into the refurbishment. The area is now fairly light (perhaps trees have been removed) and has a shabby chic sort of feel. The food and coffee was good- comparably priced to The Stables. I loved what they had done to it and would happily come back again- in fact, as an organisation we will almost certainly! I did miss the chickens though! :)

Nice food poor service. They are unable to cope with a large group. Counter service is appalling taking orders at the table would stop mixed orders. Hope they can take this on board to help customer satisfaction.
