E.Stopped in on a road trip in much need of coffee at 2.30pm, was expecting an average coffee!! But the long black I got was one of the best I’ve had in ages, and my partners mocha was fantastic too!!!!

S.Small underwhelming cafe with great coffee and the cooked breakfast was excellent. I liked the fact I can get a half serve of Eggs Benedict (saude slightly too vinegary bit heaps of bacon) coffee was great.

A.You must order the Banana pancakes with bacon. They are the fluffiest and tastiest pancakes I have ever had with just the right ratio of sweetness to salty bacon and a big dollop of cream! The staff (whom I presume was the owner) brought out a fun toy to entertain my 3yo while we waited for our order. So friendly despite being very busy! (btw, the Grindhouse signage was gone at the time of writing this post so not sure if this cafe is undergoing a name change or something)
M.Nice quiet cafe. Out of the way and makes pretty good coffee. Would be a good cafe to go in to read a book or work on your laptop without all the distractions of some of the bigger Cafe's.
B.The coffee is excellent. Good seating and local newspapers to peruse. The barista knew our.order after second visit. He recommended macadamia syrup to my husband who usually had hazelnut syrup, macadamia is now his favourite!!!
P.Drinking coffee is an experience, if strong, robust coffee is what you want then this is a 5 * but if you want to enjoy the ambiance of the Grindhouse it gets a 2* and it's all down to the service. No warm welcome, no customer focus, yes the barista is on the ball doing his stuff but the counter service, who in my opinion, is responsible for the vibe is not focused on her job, this place with its great coffee should be throbbing with customers .

J.Stopped for a coffee and a bite on our way to Oamaru. Discovered lovely friendly faces, amazing coffee and wow the hollandaise sauce!! We definitely recomend. Thanks guys, two tired Aucklanders left refreshed and satisfied.

D.I’m a coffee geek and this is taking the cake for coffee in Timaru. There are a couple other spots that are a doable second for coffee - but the Grindhouse is the only place with consistently good espresso based drinks I’ve found so far - and yes I’ve walked around all the cafes rated 4 or higher here in Timaru today. Nice one guys!!!! And the barista remembered my visit from the previous week and the coffees my friend and I had. Niiicceeee......
A.Called in one morning when passing thru. Seems to be a favourite coffee spot for the locals most of whom the staff knew by name. Grindhouse breakfast was a little disappointing as far as size goes for the price.
