W. C.Best food we've had in NZ so far. Nice spot and very friendly staff. Food is on the pricier side but worth it. The steak was beautifully cooked and smaller plates were generous and delicious
J. S.We ate here on a stop off travelling through Tokoroa, ordering some beers, chips, and mains - salmone pizza and Buddha Bowl. The pizza was a bit average but the bowl was tasty and well portioned.
Customer service was great, friendly and made things swift and easy as we’re in a bit of a hurry with a toddler - tantrum imminent 🤦

R. K.Very nice restaurant in the Middle of Tok, very friendly service and nice meals, very inexpensive as well considering the quality.
The menu isn't massive, but that allows them to focus on the detail and increase the quality, and you can really taste the flavour!
They also do have a specials board and a great dessert menu.
Would definitely reccomend for a night out and am glad I went here with my partner.

Entrees were the tiger prawns & the mushrooms. It was definitely different but also enjoyable.
Mains were T-bone steak and eye fillet steak. They were cooked to perfection, medium rare. The mushrooms on the t-bone were stolen off my husband's plate as I'd never tasted mushrooms like that before.
Deserts were chocolate brownie and a sundae. Have never experienced such deliciousness.
The owner was very happy to come and talk with us and explain her menu. Big ups to everyone that was on duty tonight.

N. H.We stopped here last weekend for a very late brunch - and it was excellent. We both had the big cooked breakfasts, and every item on the plate was cooked perfectly. Also got hot chips... they were the best I have ever had.
J.Today there are two singers singing for valentine's, really adds the atmosphere to couples and families who are willing to share time and love together, nothing els to say but, Sweet Rose Cafe is a really an amazing restaurant to eat at, and would again recommend eating here for breakfast, lunch, and Dinner: p

a. e.It was my first visit at the Wawa, and I must say I was taken back by the atmospheric cozy venue. A sizable restaurant to fit our large family. The buffet food was delicious, and regularly replenished throughout the night. Ham, beef, and chicken meat options, included pasta, roast vegetables, coleslaw, also fresh bun selections with real butter. Because I was in a deep food coma I didn't have dessert, but I was told to try the homemade brandy snaps. I'm kicking myself now for not trying them. Next time I'll start with dessert 😊

J. E.Was in town over lunchtime, and stumbled upon Sweet Rose Cafe. Food was awesome, and a really good meal size! Place was pretty busy but the lady in the kitchen was producing the delicious goods in unreal time thanks and keep it up team!
P. N.We attended a family buffet dinner. We were greeted by staff at the top of the stairs with pre dinner drinks which was a pleasant surprise. From that moment the evening continued to get better. The buffet was presented beautifully and the food was fresh and freshly cooked. The chef continued to replenish the baine marie, until he was assured everyone had adequate to eat. This restaurant has a great a la carte menu and would be an excellent venue to hold a function. Food 10, Price 10, Service 10, Venue 10, Cleanliness 10. Thank you to the hosts, well done.
M. J.Welcome back after extensive damage. . Cafe looks wonderful. Unfortunately long black should be made in a much smaller cup ..not so much water and flat white had far too much milk and had a capaccino level froth rather than a light cream.

K. F.Randomly stopped at The Sweet Rose Cafe on our way through Tokoroa for dinner. Really enjoyed our meals, good honest tasty meals and great value for money. The cafe has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and the staff were super friendly being genuinely interested in making our experience an enjoyable one. I will definitely go back when I pass through again and highly recommend.
They make a kickass ice coffee too, good old fashioned sort :)

A. F.Absolutely darling cafe. Lovely antiques and paintings throughout. I only had a long black while I was there but it was delicious and the woman that made it was very sweet. I'm glad I drove a little out of the way for the stop!
B. l.I had the ‘big breakfast’ wow!! It was big and pretty yummy. In hindsight I should’ve just got the delicious looking scone lol
My mochacino was great. I prefer to drink coffee served in a cup not a glass but because it was so good I can forgive this. Next time I’ll ask it to be served in a cup.
The cafe itself had a great welcoming feel and the staff were really friendly.
A. R.I have been here many times and have really enjoyed the food and the service however last night was the first time I dined there at night and I was a little disappointed. The waitress was very friendly and helpful but I asked if the duck meal was gluten free. She went to check with the chef who said that it was but when it arrived it had a Yorkshire pudding which certainly wasn't. I wasn't sure about the sauces either. I'm lucky that my intolerance isn't too severe but others may not be as lucky. I just feel maybe a little more training is needed. Also the meal was beautifully presented and very tasty but cold a real let down. I would still go there but they need to step up a little more and it would be first class
A. G.Terrific fresh afforable food and service with a smile. The place was packed. Generous pots of tea and humungous toasted sandwiches that filled a spot for weary travellers. One of those good old fashioned milk bar meets modern cafe places. Really enjoyed our visit.
