I had the raspberry and banana regular sized pancake. It was delicious, but I couldn't finish it all. The hot chocolate wasn't very chocolatey, but my partner enjoyed his cinnamon latte.

O. Magosh! For years, drove past here. Today was the day. If yr gunna do pancakes…..then THIS is how u do ‘em! Actually incredible. The mush/onion/cheese….like no mush/onion/cheese you would hav had before. Ever. I reckon. Nothing was a problem. It ain’t the flashest joint yr gunna come across, and if 5star is your sorta thing- then come here, cos aint no 5star joint gunna do pancakes like this!! Thanks Michelle, thanks Todd

So glad we missed all the other cafes on the way to Tauranga. Never done the pancake thing so what a neat introduction this was. We went on a very busy day. The scent of the pancakes hits you before you walk through the door which just makes you more ravenous! Huge selection on the board and they also have a little stand where you can choose something else. Looks like they bake their own cakes too because the marshmallow slice looked so big & delicious. I ordered a cappuccino and the Sultana & Apple pancake. It came with cream & ice cream. It was divine! My partner thought we had ordered one instead of two pancakes as we got served one first which was plenty big enough for two. Very impressed! The seems to be run by family & they worked hard in the kitchen. It's nice to sit on the deck, pat the friendly cat and enjoy the quietness with the rolling hills around you. I liked all the herb & lavender on the deck. It smelt so fresh. I noticed we were under charged as the poor lady was so busy. I brought this to her attention because this place deserves it. It was only $12 but when you get a good meal like this you'd be happy to pay more too! Can't wait to go back & try the savoury one day!

The pancakes were huge, service was great, good delicious. Home school decor was a bit odd, but all good.. Feeding the eels after pancakes was AWESOME!! The camp ground surround was lovely.. Only let down was the toilet was unpleasantly dirty..

Spectacular pancakes, huge portions and absolutely deliciously 😋 had lemon and sugar with cream and ice cream 🍦 Lovely, friendly staff and awesome service. Loved my time hanging out with the gorgeous cats as well. How NZ hospo and food used to be, highly recommend 👌

Great place to stop on yr travels for coffee and pancakes, dont forget to check out the eels.

Amazing pancake restaurant with a spectacular Forrest view with a stream. The pancakes we're amazing and very filling for the cost and the staff are lovely and accommodating. Would recommend for anyone who wants a quiet coffee and / or delicious pancakes.

This little pancake house can be easy to miss when your driving between Auckland and Tauranga, but well worth the stop if you're feeling hungry. Many flavours of both sweet and savoury pancakes, Gluten Free optional, as well as good coffee, hot drinks, ice cream and cabinet foods. Staff are friendly and service is quick, as it never seems too busy when we visit. The pancakes are delicious, and even better when enjoyed on the deck with the views of the surrounding bush. Try the banana, bacon, and maple pancake, and head down the driveway to see the stream before you leave.

Nice pancakes and fun feeding the eels, but the place is tired and needs refurbishment. Toilets don't lock and needed cleaning.

A pancake for everyone. Some of the savoury pancakes are basically pizzas made with pancake batter. One size fits all - you won't need seconds and could easily share one between 2 people. There's one of the most smoochy cats in the world that kept us company throughout our visit. On the way out the lady gave my pregnant girlfriend a teddy for the baby - a really nice soft teddy. Feel like it was worth the price all for of us paid for our meals and beverages.

Fantastic pancakes , fantastic value and they were so good, we came in close to closing but they were so welcoming and told us not to rush :) The lady serving us was awesome and happy to chat and answer any questions we had about the area . I had a Banana pancake and I struggled to finish it :) While my partner and her mother had these delish savory pancakes with crunchy cheese topping ...yummy as and unable to finish was taken home to be enjoyed for breakfast . This is the most beautiful place to stay so peaceful and they make the best pancakes ever.

We took a detour on our travel to include the Pancake House. It is a fantastic place. We were impressed with the huge variety of delicious pancakes and coffee. Quick and friendly service. Big pancakes, the regular size is hard to finish. We will be back again!

The place hasn't change for at least 20 years. Beautiful old style decorations, yummy pancakes but really filling and very friendly people. The eels are a real highlight too.

Finally made the stop to try the pancakes...so glad we did. They were amazing! Our eyes were bigger than our stomach! We could not finish our pancake as the serving was a very generous size. So worth the stop too

Heading home from Mt Maunganui we decided to stop at The Pancake House. What an enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly, the food was delicious,. I was able to enjoy a Gluten Free Pancake with maple syrup and cream and ice cream. The coffee was good too. Thanks we will definitely be back next time we are down that way.

Ordered the bacon, banana and maple syrup pancake as well as a coffee milkshake, was very delicious and portion sizes really decent. Very happy with the food. They really need to do something about the décor though, the dolls were a bit creepy...

We had the savory pancakes which were very tasty and they only cost $18! The only downside was that they were too big!! The lady did warn us that were like a pizza. I would have enjoyed it more if they were smaller, then I could have had a dessert after, instead I left feeling bloated and the taste was repetitive. Would definitely recommend them to people, but hopefully they see this suggestion and reduce the size. I would still pay around $15 if they were smaller and I would have enjoyed it more!!

Quite a dirty looking place overall but food was not too bad. We went here for breakfast on Wed 15 Jan 2020 around 10.30am. A fantastic menu with lots of different options. Great value for money. My Dad had the Bacon and eggs which gave a generous amount of bacon. Bread was just Supermarket plain white. He was very satisfied. Bacon was of a really nice quality too. I had Blueberry and Banana Pancakes with Bacon and found it was pretty nice although the pancake itself was pretty plain and heavy. A lighter fluffier pancake would be nicer. Blueberries were very nice. They reckon they put the Banana in the pancake itself but I couldn't really taste it. We ate outside as it was hot but the indoor part was in bad need of a vacuum. The deck we sat on gave a beautiful view of surrounding bush. Furniture was basic picnic tables. Toilets are accessed externally. The Men's toilets were absolutely disgusting with the urinal stenching of not being cleaned for a very long time. The stench burnt your nostrils. I couldn't use it.Foul as. This made me wonder what the Kitchen hygiene would be like. Staff were friendly although slightly too familiar for my liking. On arrival they were all out front sucking smokes and looked at us as if we were from Mars. As soon as we left they were all straight back out front on the smokes again. No other guests arrived during our visit. We visited the eels out the back in the stream and fed them our leftovers which was a pretty neat experience. There was a lot of them. The kids loved it.

If you want something different this may be it. Pancakes are available in small or large sizes and we found the smaller size was plenty. Great selection and service and the meal was very nice , they also do a great coffee. Well worth stopping . Cost for 2 pancakes with ice cream and 2 hot drinks was only $26.50.

What a great lot of fun this was. We have driven past for many years but had more time on our hands so stopped in. There were no gluten free options but my husband really enjoyed his pancake chosen from the straight forward menu board arriving with large scoops of icecream. It could have easily been shared by two. There were also savoury options we didnt sample on this occasion but I think we'll stop in again

**Had to throw in an edit because this place is becoming incredibly unreliable with their opening hours so maybe don't rely on them being open. If you do happen to arrive on a day they decide not to open then head on down to the Surf Shack in waihi beach. They stick to their opening hours and have a decent range of delicious pancakes and a range of other things to keep everyone in your group happy** Really decent coffee. Huge range of savoury and sweet pancake. Freshly made sandwiches also available along with muffins and a few other savouries in the chilled display. Generous portions and great views

Dated decor but excellent place and unique pancakes. Bacon, banana & maple for true Canadian lovers is a must!

Huge pancakes but probably a bit too big. I wouldn't mind paying slightly less for half the pancake! Still awesome experience and food and the kids loved feeding the eels once we finished

Went for the small pancakes and they were still huge! Lovely customer service and the kids will love looking at the eels in the nearby stream.

My family weren't sure, but we were actually 'much liked', which was very nice. Plain food- such choices - but their chef was good. Anyone been there before should give it a chance again.

Great for a quick stop bannana mapke and bacon pancakes are good and you can show the kids the eels down the road. Good to break up a journey or just for pancakes i guess

Awesome family camping experience! Crab hunting, kyaking, bike rides and the hotpools and definitely stop for a pancake at the pancake house! Warm and Friendly staff and super clean!
